Third Down Blitz 0 Posted October 20, 2010 Just heard he is out indefenitely. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Dallas Clark is "out indefinitely" with a hand/wrist injury. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Rotoworld adds: We still don't know the details, but Clark is seeking "second and third opinions," indicating that surgery is a possibility. Schefter hints that Clark could miss the rest of the season, adding that the Colts "are not optimistic." The team re-signed TE/FB Gijon Robinson on Wednesday, confirming the concern. Owners shouldn't cut bait until we get confirmation, but Clark's season is clearly in jeopardy. His loss would upgrade the second-half outlook of Austin Collie as Peyton Manning's new go-to receiver underneath. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Update: It looks like his season is over. Dallas Clark-TE-Colts Oct. 22 - 11:58 am et Colts placed Dallas Clark (wrist) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Matt Mueller 146 Posted October 20, 2010 Man, it's been a tough year health wise for the top tight ends...in fact the entire league. I wonder how much, if any this will impact Peyton down the stretch.
We Tigers 71 Posted October 20, 2010 Ouch. Woe to anyone who sold the farm to get him after losing Finley. A guy in one of my leagues did it, and is probably swinging from a ceiling beam at the moment. I'm not sure what impact this could have on the rest of the receivers' fantasy value, though you've got to think this could give Collie even more action on intermediate/slot routes. Cstriker 2 Posted October 20, 2010 Garcon who has'nt done much this season should see a nice uptick in targets because of this. Also bumps wayne/collie up
el_duderino 0 Posted October 20, 2010 Do they have another pass catching TE on the roster? Who takes Dallas' spot on the field? More 4 WR sets?
TwentyFourSeven 23 Posted October 20, 2010 Add Clark to my injury report with Grant, Clayton & Thomas. Ew.
IndyFan 2 Posted October 21, 2010 Indy homer here. I'm not buying this report YET. Nothing on Colts website and nothing on Indy Star website except the Colts suspended the drunken punter one game and resigned TE Gijon Robinson (is this a clue?). I usually find the Indy Star to be on top of these stories.
msudavedawg 5 Posted October 21, 2010 And I was thrilled when he fell to me in round 5 this year.
astriy 1 Posted October 21, 2010 so... in my 16 team league my 1st 4 picks were grant, greene, clark, and finley (we start 2 TE's). Oh and my QB's are Kolb and Stafford. Guess how my season is going.
TheFid2 0 Posted October 21, 2010 Well. At least he had the good sense to be sidelined during his bye week. I already had Hernandez on my bench to replace him for the week, guess he just became permanent
FeelingMN 273 Posted October 21, 2010 I'm the commish in one of my leagues, and all trades end up on my doorstep to uphold/veto. Unless it's a clear case of collusion, I ratify all trades. Anyway, late last night a trade was made involving Clark....specifically Clark/Galloway for Moeaki/Crabtree. Obviously the guy getting Clark was unaware of the potential injury. But the trade was accepted late last night, and the guy receiving Clark initiated the trade yesterday morning...he could have....should have cancelled the offer. He had time to do that. Anyway, I feel bad because it's a terrible trade, but I had to uphold it. The fact....reportedly....that Clark is seeking additional medical opinions on his wrist is concerning. He's heard something bad about the injury and wants to make sure it's right. The Colts are tight lipped about injuries so we may not get anything official for a while. But if I were a Clark owner, I'd be making contingencies ASAP. Don't drop him or anything, but I'd maybe try to swing a deal for an underperforming TE like Heath or Daniels before the news gets any worse.

FeelingMN 273 Posted October 21, 2010 The guy who traded Clark is a scumbag. He would not be invited back to my league again. I can't blame the guy. The offer was made yesterday at 8am. It wasn't accepted until 11pm. Rumors started swirling about Clark yesterday afternoon. So the Moeaki/Crabtree owner had time to withdraw the offer.....if he had checked any reputable FF website yesterday evening. Obviously he didn't. And I can't be entirely sure the Clark owner had known of the injury before accepting. He has been starting Housh and hasn't been too active picking players up. He's good about updating his lineup, but obviously he's not as serious about FF as myself or most of the other owners in that league. To each their own. TheFid2 0 Posted October 21, 2010 Well I dropped him for Steve Smith South as a flier for his return Even if he comes back around week 13 its not worth the spot. I grabbed Hernandez for the bye already and he's almost as good
epinindy 0 Posted October 21, 2010 Indy homer here also: If Clark is done for the season as some are stating the pass catching TE will be Jacob Tamme. Tamme is a very capable TE who will surprise everyone at how good he is. The only thing holding Tamme back to this point has been Clark. If you're in need of a TE, go get Jacob Tamme now and it will pay later.

If you're in need of a TE, go get Jacob Tamme now and it will pay later. From Yahoo: Thu, Oct 21 Tamme is likely to start at tight end with Dallas Clark sidelined indefinitely with a hand/wrist injury, the Indianapolis Star reports. Recommendation: Tamme has looked strong in the passing game in the preseason when given an opportunity, but it's not clear if he'll be a big factor in the passing game despite taking over Clark's spot. Brody Eldridge may also be a factor in the passing game at tight end and the Colts may also use more three- and four-receiver sets. (Rotowire.com) If you've got a roster spot open sure stash him but I'd wait a week and see.

I'm sure he's an adequate replacement, but I don't see him being fantasy relevant for a few reasons: -Obviously, he's not as talented as Dallas Clark. -Hasn't gotten the reps/chemistry with Peyton Manning (important in this offense). -With the WR's getting healthy (fingers crossed) - I'd expect more 3 & 4 WR sets with Gonzo/Collie filling in for Clark in the middle of the field. -Brody Eldrige WILL play. I know he's more of a blocking-TE, but we've read all off-season how impressed the Colts are with his hands. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 WR-sets with Eldrige/Wayne/Garcon/Collie...it actually forces DEF's to guess if we are passing or running. If we pass, we have 3 great WR's, an O.K. TE, and Addai out of the backfield. If we run (most likely against nickel or dime), we've got a PHENOMENAL run-blocking TE.
Boston Three Party 6 Posted October 21, 2010 I at least hope they announce it before the game Sunday. I'm in no rush to grab Tamme cause I know no one will grab him anyways. Whether or not he's an upgrade over Miller, Moeki, etc. remains to be seen...but Peyton turns any chump into a stud. We'll see.

Gepetto 989 Posted October 21, 2010 Found this: Polian said: "“He’s (Dallas Clark's) got an injury to his wrist, which is a relatively rare injury. He’s visiting a doctor in Cleveland today. He’s due to come in and talk late this afternoon when he gets back and I get back. I don’t know what the prognosis is." Blakeyson 0 Posted October 22, 2010 I live in Indy and I have been hearing about this all week. Clark is def out w a wrist for a long time. The only reason a player seeks a second opinion is bc he doesn't like the prognosis from the team doctor, which seems to be season ending. Collie is out for a few weeks after hand surgery too. Clark will be replaced by Eldridge and Tamme in sort oF TE timeshare. I've read that Collie will more than likely be replaced by Blair White rather than Anthony Gonzalez. I don't have links but like I said, I've been hearing/reading about this all week.
Boston Three Party 6 Posted October 22, 2010 I'm dropping him early. It's nuts, but I need the roster space. /Thanks for nothing I had a super bad feeling he'd get injured this year. Thank god I ran V-Diddy in most of my leagues. (The LAST of the TE1's on paper, LOL)
#1LionFan 0 Posted October 22, 2010 You and me both (had a feeling Clark would get hurt this year). He "fell" to me at end of fourth rnd....my saving grace is that Zach Miller fell to me in the 9th. I usually do not carry 2 TEs but glad I did here. I was shopping Miller hard the past couple weeks too! Glad no one bit.

msudavedawg 5 Posted October 22, 2010 Clark IR http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Headlines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=187167 At least we Clark owners know. They could have stretched it out (see Marvin Harrison's hamstring injury from a few years ago) longer and made us waste a roster spot on him.

Law 220 Posted October 22, 2010 At least we Clark owners know. They could have stretched it out (see Marvin Harrison's hamstring injury from a few years ago) longer and made us waste a roster spot on him. BINGO! My first thought was ok, if he's hurt just IR him so I can drop him and move on. I have him in one league where it's a large starting lineup and a shallow bench, I can't afford to carry someone for weeks! Thanks Indy! (for a change you did right by us FFers!) Boston Three Party 6 Posted October 22, 2010 This was the one year I took Clark no matter what as a pats homer and boom. He is the best and it blows cause in 5-1 in that league. I still got Wayne though. Lord help me.

What the hell is wrong with you guys leaving any offensive weapon for Peyton Manning on the wavier wire? I could care less if he can block. If he can catch a pass more consistant than Pierre Garcon, then he deserves a spot on your roster. You Finley and Clark owners should realy jump on this quick. Dallas Clark wouldn't produce half as much on another team. It's Peyton Manning that counts. He made undrafted Austin Collie the 1# fantasy WR in the NFL.
