hoydogg 3 Posted November 22, 2010 He is said to be looking good, and with the injuries for SD he could get a lot of targets. Rivers is playing at a high level too.
Law 261 Posted November 22, 2010 By "this week" you mean next week, week 12, right? Because this week, tonight, he's not playing.

pee-diddy 27 Posted November 22, 2010 Assuming SD announces he is starting, I am starting VJax next week and sitting Miles Austin in a PPR league. I think V-Jax comes out gunz blazing!!! My other WR's I am starting are Calvin and Fitz. If Romo were QB I'd start Austin. Austin's lack of receptions is killing me.
mambokings 0 Posted November 22, 2010 I'm starting Vincent Jackson, Week 12, in my Flex/WR3 slot. He should come out strong vs. Indy in a high-scoring affair.
Teren 2 Posted November 22, 2010 I really wanting to start him was figuring he could bump santonio holmes out of my flex but its hard to bench santonio after this weeks performance my other options to bench are brandon lloyd or megatron so I might let him ride the bench a week and see if he's gonna play a major role
munygon2 2 Posted November 22, 2010 I'm starting him in my W/T flex also. But I also have Danny Woodhead in that spot now who's been very productive most weeks, so I haven't quite finalized it yet.
PATSSOX 22 Posted November 22, 2010 Is it 100% guaranteed that Vjax will step right back into the #1 spot?? The Chargers know he is not coming back and he is just playing this out to get credit. Anyone read what the plans are for Vjax when he does come back?
lbforlb 1 Posted November 22, 2010 I'm going with him. I like the sound of AJ, SJ (BUF), and VJ.

Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted November 23, 2010 After watching tonight's game, I'm pretty excited about starting V Jax next week. Rivers is on another level right now and SD likes to go deep. Meanwhile Crayton probably hurt himself this week with his wrist bending backwards on the TD he had, and the rest of the SD receiving corps is walking wounded. I have no doubt Jackson is a full participant next week, probably spending extra time with Rivers, and will do quite well going forward. They will test the Indy secondary, no doubt about that. Should be a good game next week.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted November 23, 2010 Jackson is playing for a new contract, so he'll go balls out. I'm starting him with confidence. With Kitna suddenly rediscovering Miles Austin, and with Sidney Rice looking relatively good in his return, I may finally have some options at the WR spot. msudavedawg 5 Posted November 23, 2010 Locked up a playoff spot this week so hellz ya I'm starting him.
worm 36 Posted November 23, 2010 Rivers is on another level right now and SD likes to go deep. . With the way Rivers is playing right now without Jackson, it should get that much better with him, right? The #1 WR in a top 3 passing offense should be an every week play. I am starting him because he has that potential. I'm just concerned if it's going to be WR roulette, a-la New Orleans, and Jackson and Floyd will split the difference or trade off big games. McBain 13 Posted November 23, 2010 I'm just concerned if it's going to be WR roulette, a-la New Orleans, and Jackson and Floyd will split the difference or trade off big games. This is what I'm predicting. I can't see a scenario of them not using VJ since Crayton is hurt and Legadu Nananee is still recovering. Going to be a nightmare scenario for the opposing team in the red zone, when the Chargers will have three 6'4+ targets in the endzone. Go Chargers!

My other WR's I am starting are Calvin and Fitz. If Romo were QB I'd start Austin. Austin's lack of receptions is killing me. I'm deciding between Jackson and Austin as well. People seem to think Austin's downfall has been due to Dez Bryant taking over. Austin only had 3 targets this week but Bryant only had 4 himself. Kitna just really spread the ball around that day. In fact Witten was their leading receiver catching just 4 passes for 48 yards. Hard to count out Austin knowing he could explode on any given day. I do like that Kitna is looking for him in the end zone. It's also tempting to put Jackson in there seeing as to how well Rivers is playing but I worry that he may be rusty in his first live action game in such a long time. Even if he's looked good in practice, practice is not the same as playing on Sundays and we don't yet know how the Chargers expect to utilize him in his first game back. wildbluefan 0 Posted November 23, 2010 In the one league I have him, I will be forced to start him, since I have Nicks out three weeks, and Randy Moss being a serious TURD !!...I doubt if I could find another WR on the wire with VJ s potential, even for this week ! Forsett in her 0 Posted November 23, 2010 i'm in shambles with only Boldin to speak of, so rolling with Vjax and Sidney this week as well. lot of confidence in Vjax all reports are he looks great in practice, but waiting on Vikes news if Sidney's hip OK after first week of real hits. gotta think the guy worked hard to get back, he's going to go all out, out of the playoffs or not...fun week with two new toys. Law 261 Posted November 23, 2010 I will likely go with Welker over VJax for this week. It's a PPR league and it gives me something additional in that Thnx game. It's a safer play for this week until I see what VJax does. I suspect that going forward I will use VJax over Welker or play the matchups.
Maroon Bells 18 Posted November 23, 2010 I'm starting him. And after what Panther Steve and Randy Moss have done to me, I'm counting on him to be my playoff Messiah. I think he does well. It's not like we're talking about a guy starting in a new offense. It's not like we're talking about a guy coming back from an injury with all the tentativeness that entails. Nor are we talking about a guy who isn't in game shape or have his timing down with his QB, since he's been practicing the last three weeks. I think he hits the ground running. pimptastic69 0 Posted November 23, 2010 Jackson is playing for a new contract, so he'll go balls out. Really? What will he do differently than he did last year? And if he was really playing for a contract, wouldn't it make sense for him to play more than 5 games in a year? This whole "contract year" thing has always irked me. You can either play - or you can't. If you can step it up and go balls out in a "contract year", it means you were holding back in the non-contract years, and you'll likely revert back to your less than stellar, non-balls out performances, since you've recently been paid. If you were an owner/GM, why would you want that type of player?
mont71 2 Posted November 23, 2010 its hard for me to say this as a floyd owner, but vjax is going to light sh*t up this week. floyd re-tweaked his hammy, crayton is out, gates banged up...its gonna be vjax time all day. luckily i played the vjax owner this past week and he isnt going to make the playoffs...SD might tho.
CornKobb 48 Posted November 23, 2010 Malcolm Floyd re tweaked his hammy....Crayton cracked his wrist....Gates still hurting. I am starting VJax with confidence. Someone gets the ball in a shootout game. Why not vjax.

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Definately starting Vincent Jackson in week 12. In order to do that I have to bench Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, and Sydney Rice. I'm sure Vincent Jackson will step right in and produce. With 2 other receivers out, he'll be needed. He's a touchdown guy, so I'm hoping for 3 touchdowns, but 2 touchdowns and 150 yards is obviously the more probable and conservative call.

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Sounds like Moss in his first week with Der Vikes. I'm busted! I did say that or something similar about Randy Moss when he went to the Vikes. Ok, I'm still starting Jackson, but I'll just temper the expectations with, "I hope for the best". Fantasy football is all about prognosticating, and sometimes hyperbole finds its way into predictions.

Wasn't trying to bust you or anything, was just pointing out that there was a similar hype when Moss went to the Vikings. And that, as we (Moss owners) all know, did not turn out very well. X2 if you count Tennessee.

He's likely playing for a contract for another team, and he really only has 5 weeks to show what he's worth. Add to it, he's got to prove he's considerably better than Floyd, Nanee and Ajirotutu. Smith has a reputation already in the league based on their handling of Charger Legend Tomlinson, Merriman, etc. I'm not saying I would, but I also wouldn't want Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and likely a host of other diva WR's, but Jackson isn't past his prime or a team cancer like them, he's a beast in the prime of his career.
