If Christie can make strides in the armpit of america, its a good background to make strides on our broken fed govt...

If Christie can make strides in the armpit of america, its a good background to make strides on our broken fed govt... Christie is the fat fock who used a tax payer funded helicopter to catch a ride to his son's baseball game. Yeah, seems like he's against entitlements. PS, don't tell me he ended up paying out of his own pocket. That was after the shitstorm hit.
MDC 5,892 Posted October 4, 2011 I like Christie and he'd definitely be better than Perry, but he'll have a couple problems: 1. He's a social moderate who changed a lot of his positions to win as a Republican. Chistie was pro choice, favors gun restrictions, supports gay civil unions, wanted to cut greenhouse emissions, and said being in the US without documentation isn't a crime. 2. There's a real risk he splits the moderate GOP vote and paves the way for some tea party weirdo like Perry. He also doesn't help the GOP in the Northeast and most certainly would lose his home state. You've got to wonder if a moderate Republican northeasterner known mainly as a union buster is going to help in swing states like Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Indiana, etc. Also, he's really fat. congressmanreality 1 Posted October 4, 2011 Fat chance he'd ever even sniff the GOP nomination. Guy went torridjoe on immigration. Compare the two quotes: They're not criminals. Being here illegally isn't a crime... Some are illegal entrants, others are visa overstayers. To cover both of them, the word "undocumented" serves best... In 2008, when Christie was the U.S. attorney in New Jersey, he told a church forum that “being in this country without proper documentation is not a crime.”Christie, who was appointed to that position by President George W. Bush, went on to say that an immigrant lacking documents is a civil wrong. “The whole phrase of 'illegal immigrant' connotes that the person, by just being here, is committing a crime,” he said then. “Don't let people make you believe that that's a crime that the U.S. attorney's office should be doing something about." MedStudent 56 Posted October 4, 2011 Who was the last overweight president? Roosevelt? He did pretty good. But that is only comparing 2 people by their love of bacon. Which Roosevelt? Franklin gets a pass because he was in a wheelchair. Teddy was stocky but he was an active outdoorsman, so i would not really call him fat. Clinton probably had more fat on him than teddy. When it comes down to fat Presidents, you think about Taft getting stuck in the Whitehouse bathtub. Grover Cleveland didn't miss too many meals either. Recliner Pilot 61 Posted October 4, 2011 Clinton probably had more fat on him than teddy. Leave Lewinski out if this. That was his personal life.
Brad GLuckman 518 Posted October 4, 2011 That's a shame, the rest of the republican candidates are awful and I liked Christie. Why don't any decent candidates for the GOP want to run? I didn't mind Christie being socially moderate, as I agree with him in some of those areas.

What the fock was the point of the speech at the reagan library anyway? it anyone say it, it was basically a stump speech where he went on about new leadership in dc etc...and then said not running. wtf?
