Kent 228 Posted January 3, 2012 Is Denver the worst playoff team ever?
JT 137 Posted January 3, 2012 If you can run and stop the run you always have a chance in the playoffs. Pittsburgh has averaged one point per game more than Denver this season (20.3/19.3). Steelers without Mendenhall, an injured Roethlisberger, and with an older defense that's going to have to be very physical throughout. That's at the point of attack, not going helmet-to-helmet with WR downfield or blitzing on certain passing downs. I believe Dawkins health is the key. Since he's been hurt, Denver's defense has given up 88 points in three games. That's a healthy increase over their season average. He's not only vital to their coverage schemes, he's a great tackler and calls their defensive signals when out there. Denver is historically one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. The last two teams that were called the "worst playoff teams ever" went to the Super Bowl (Arizona) and won a first round game at home vs heavily favored New Orleans (Seattle). We'll see. Pavlov 0 Posted January 3, 2012 Quick caveat: I think the Steelers will win. But... The Steelers are really really banged up right now. Ben desperately needed some time to heal his ankle. Since the injury, his QB ratings are 52.3 and 73. Those aren't great numbers, his cardio is clearly low right now and he's going into the thin air of Denver. The loss of Mendenhall hurts, not so much on the level of talent (he's talented, but having an off year), but depth. Redman is a decent backup RB, but will needs spells during the game. Last week's fumbles are a little troubling. If Denver is going to win this game, they absolutely need to force some turnovers. Woodley might play, but won't be 100%. I'm not too worried about the loss of Clark because...well, it's Tebow. But the Steelers run D won't be at 100%. Most importantly, the Steelers have allowed bad teams to hang around all year (Jacksonville, Arizona, KC, Cleveland). That's not a formula for success. kwhiz73 0 Posted January 3, 2012 Denver have NO chance. Low scoring game. 19-3 Steelers win. I completely agree. Anytime there's a penalty for Denver the drive is over, anytime they have a rush for less than two yards the drive is over, anytime they start on their side of the 50 the drive is over. If Denver ever has over 5 yards to go on third down, starts more than 30 yards from field goal range, or has a penalty of any sort go against them--they might as well just punt. (Sorry I needed 3 points from Tebow last week to win my superbowl, and he scored 2)
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted January 3, 2012 Pittsburgh has been overrated all year plus they are pretty banged up. I think Denver stuns them. Maybe after the game Tebow will forgive Rapistburger for his sex crimes.

jgcrawfish 232 Posted January 3, 2012 Pittsburgh has been overrated all year plus they are pretty banged up. I think Denver stuns them. um, you're talking about the top ranked scoring defense and top ranked yardage defense in the league, right? Against hands down the WORST offense and QB in the league. If Denver can't put up more than 3 pts against KC, they may score negative against the Steelers. I'll give Denver a bit of credit, but this has the makings of a 17-6 Steelers win. It's the same Steelers team that laid a 24-0 beatdown on the Seahawks, right? That team that was too overrated and banged up?
RicemanX 20 Posted January 3, 2012 This is not the upset game you're looking for. Last 3 games, teams showed the world that if you play the same defense in the 4th quarter as you did in the last 3 quarters, you won't have any Tebow miracles happening. Yes, Steelers have an injured Big Ben and Mendenhall on IR. But last time I checked, that defense is still a top 3 defense and most of the key players on that D are healthy. 20-0 Steelers. Polamalu with 2 INTs, one of them is a pick 6.

Joey Gladstone 33 Posted January 3, 2012 It's the same Steelers team that laid a 24-0 beatdown on the Seahawks, right? That team that was too overrated and banged up? Yeah, actually they were. Considering Seattle was awful until week 4 or 5 and traveling cross-country. I was shocked it was as close as it was. Pittsburgh has also looked pretty tough playing Cleveland and St. Louis these past few weeks. Pittsburgh has had trouble against teams that can run the ball and get to the quarterback (SF, BAltx2, HOU), things Denver does pretty well. Also, they'll be facing a very unorthodox, enigmatic quarterback, unlike anything they've seen all season. Is Denver the better team? Hell no. Can they upset The Pittsburgh Steelers? You betcha. devouredbychaos 0 Posted January 3, 2012 This is the same Steelers team that barely...BARELY beat a horrible Browns team in Week 17. I'd be extremely worried if I was a Squealers fan. I see an upset coming..and it'll be hilarious to see all the excuses these pitiful Squealers fans come up with as to why they lost. Just think, an early exit means you won't get embarrassed by the Ravens again or schooled by Brady for the 7th time in the past few seasons.

Just think, an early exit means you won't get embarrassed by the Ravens again or schooled by Brady for the 7th time in the past few seasons. That's funny, I don't recall Brady having won a Superbowl, or even that many playoff games, since Belicheat got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I also don't recall the Ravens beating the Steelers in the playoffs recently. But I do recall them going 3 times in the last 6 years and winning 2 of them, while narrowly losing last year. Discount them at your own risk dbag.

Do they only cheat in superbowls they win or do they cheat in ones they lose too? I suppose they cheat in all the games leading to the superbowl too or else how would they get there? Amazing they never got caught like Bellicheat seeing as they have cheated all these games over 40 years.... All this cheating over 40 years and all we git are six trophies. Damn they need get better and wish they would have cheated more last year vs gb
ralphster 274 Posted January 4, 2012 Murf I didn't know you were so touchy about the Big Ben. Not flaming you for liking your team or QB, just an observation. And I don't think the Tebows have a snowball's chance in hell of beating PIT. Hurt QB/RB or no, aging D or non thin air or no I think PIT is going to dismantle them.
