IGotWorms 4,060 Posted March 7, 2012 How much have your taxes gone up under Obama? You watch too much Fox. Change the channel and stop living in fear of Obama. Her federal income taxes haven't gone up at all. No one's has. She's just an idiot who likes to be angry.

phillybear 366 Posted March 7, 2012 Yeah, bills affect us. Some positively. some negatively. Even if you hate obamacare you have to admit that there are some positive things in that bill. How can you possibly tell. It's been two years, and still nobody has read it.

IGotWorms 4,060 Posted March 7, 2012 My federal, state, and local all have gone up, up, up. How have your federal income taxes gone up? Are you making more money? As for state and local taxes, I fail to see how that is Obummer's fault

IGotWorms 4,060 Posted March 7, 2012 Federal no, payroll maybe. I seem to recall that Obama pushed the payroll tax holiday through even though Republicans didn't want it. So hasn't Obama actually reduced payroll taxes?
TheNewGirl 1,580 Posted March 7, 2012 Yeah, bills affect us. Some positively. some negatively. Even if you hate obamacare you have to admit that there are some positive things in that bill. Like what? People all ready get free medical care, no ER is going to turn them away. Rates are going to be even higher than they are now, not to mention, again...my taxes will go up. I have insurance and I am all ready paying out the nose for my issues from November and the aftermath from that. It really makes me think tiwce about visiting an ER because of the huge bill that will soon follow. THey haven't even figured out how to PAY for Obamacare yet. That's the scary part. I'm also curious about what's going to happen when China calls and wants us to pay our bill to them and we say, "Oh...we can't pay that..."
Bert 1,128 Posted March 7, 2012 I seem to recall that Obama pushed the payroll tax holiday through even though Republicans didn't want it. So hasn't Obama actually reduced payroll taxes? There was a phase out provision attached to the extension for "high income" earners. So for some of us no.

As for state and local taxes, I fail to see how that is Obummer's fault Making the same salary for a few years now. You have to be promoted to be considered for a salary increase. My federal deductions increased on my pay stubs each of the last two years and my federal returns have been reduced exponentially each of the last two years. I'm just responding that my federal taxes went up, to refute the "nobody" part. Nothing more, nothing less. I've stated it a few times in the past as well. DAVID RUFFIN 2 Posted March 7, 2012 She's been voting on bills that affect you for years, and she thinks we sent astronauts to Mars. You also have aother Demwit in Congress who thinks we have too many troops in Guam and the island may capsize from the weight. But by all means, get your panties in a twist over a blue collar business owner running for office. "Mr. Wurzelbacher said he works under Al Newell’s license, but according to Ohio building regulations, he must maintain his own license to do plumbing work. He is also not registered to operate as a plumber in Ohio, which means he’s not a plumber. This blue collar business owner is also a liar.

titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted March 7, 2012 People all ready get free medical care, no ER is going to turn them away. If you believe that, you are an idiot. All the ER does is make them stable, and kick them out the door. The ER won't fix the underlying problem. It will just defer the death until the next heart attack. KSB2424 3,153 Posted March 7, 2012 Speaking of Obamacare, I never understood why they made it so complicated. 1. We already have Medicaid. Simply clean up that system (get rid of fraud/waste) and make it more inclusive. For instance have a secondary teir of medicaid where the individual pays some into some of it. Pool those people together like a corporation pools people togehter to get lower rates. That takes care of the part about poor people not having insurance while also helping to reduce costs as more people are insured. Change the medicare/medicaid rate from1.45% to 2% to offset. :wipeshands: 2. Tort Reform - lowers insurance premiums for all. Yes it only will lower a small percentage, but lowering a little is much better than actually rising premiums. Done and Done. Next question.

Bert 1,128 Posted March 7, 2012 Have payroll taxes increased under Obama? Yes or no. Yes. As of earlier this year I no longer qualify for the 2% reduction. Calm down, hell I even agree with you that people that say their federal income taxes have gone up are off base. I will add that one of the reasons State and Local taxes have gone up is because the federal government has cut off a lot of State funding.

KSB2424 3,153 Posted March 7, 2012 That sounds brilliant, except that it's government run and therefore Socialist (according to the mouth breathers at least). Nah, the sticking points for Obamacare was the mandates that EVERYONE HAS to have insurance yada yada. Of which the left wasn't coming off of. What I just said would've been a compromise. KSB2424 3,153 Posted March 7, 2012 No. Believe you me the Democrats would have much rather done the plan you just described, but everyone would have declared it a new Bolshevik revolution and take to the hills. I don't know maybe. This is the part that kills me about our current and past government. We already have safety nets in place for stuff. Poor people who don't have insurance? What the fock is the whole purpose of Medicaid then? Women who don't have insurance or their insurance doesn't cover the pill? Why the fock do we already help fund Planned Parenthood then? Instead of fixing the crap we have we just create more crap on top of it. Next thing you know we have 50 plans all doing the same thing really bad, and a law/tax code so big nobody can understand it with loopholes galore. We make stuff so focking hard. It's mind numbing. The reason? Because there will be 1% of people who aren't covered somehow in the current solution so we have to make a plan for that 1% but then that plan screws up the orignaial plan so we have to create a new plan to fix the oringinal plan. God it's annoying. Sorry I'm ranting.
Strike 5,846 Posted March 7, 2012 You do realize that the health care plan runs through the private insurance market and therefore the government is not paying for it, right? And that according to the CBO it will actually save the government money. This is a load of crap. And I'm not going to go down the road of refuting it any more. We've done that numerous times. If you actually believe it's going to save money you're a bigger idiot than I thought. But every story you read about cost and Obamacare over the last year has pretty much been the same - it's going to cost MORE than they said. So, even if we take the bullsh*t numbers they peddled to get it passed as accurate, they're certainly not anymore. For example, Cost of Obamacare underestimated by $111B But keep with the talking points.

Since then the facts are starting to trickle out and it's bad news at every turn. If you really believe that Obamacare is gonna save money you are are the biggest idiot this forum has ever seen. God it's annoying. Sorry I'm ranting. The holes in the net are too big, despite the fact it costs far more than it should already. Plus they are getting bigger as costs increase at a greater rate than other countries with better health care metrics. This impacts a lot more than the 1% you describe, and there is no easy fix because there are multiple problems which add to the expense of our bloated system. As to the OP, not sure why either party would want another liar in congress. Pointing out jackasses in the other party doesn't make Congressman Drobeski any more credible.
