Supreme Court rules Obama has raised taxes on every American

Recommended Posts

Another broken promise confirmed.

Another lie exposed.

Another flip-flop.

Gonna be harder for Obama to peddle his "I have not raised taxes on anyone making less than $250,000" yaksqueeze.

Understood. I'm just curious to see the part where the court proclaimed that it raises taxes on every American.

Many people already have insurance.

Premiums in every state but MA are going to rise 25% to 60% depending on who you ask... MA already has this, so in theory it is passing along the freebie costs to the other states as well..MA will rise as well but comparatively it will be less as the playing field evens out..

MA has 25% higher premiums than NY, NH for example...

The Supreme Court disagrees with you.

Your insurance premium is now a defacto tax.

Congrats!

What if I already had insurance, like most Americans?

You chose to pay for insurance. You now don't have a choice, which means Obama is not pro-choice.

You can either pay your Obamacare Tax in the form of an insurance premium, or you can pay your Obamacare Tax in the firm of punitive penalties. That's the only choice you have. Either way, Obama is gonna get his tax outta ya.

But I already had health insurance and intended to keep it as long as I had access to it. So, like most Americans, this ruling has very little effect on me personally, while at the same time insuring that something like 40 million Americans will now have access to healthcare. How is that bad?

Yesterday it was your choice to spend money on insurance. Today you don't have a choice. You MUST pay the Obama Tax in one of two forms.

That's no me talking, it's John Bader Roberts talking. Take it up with him.

I intend to pay my income taxes every year. That doesn't change the fact it's a tax. Great argument, Mr. Pretend Attorney. :overhead:

Do you really believe this tax bill and what it requires companies to do to comply is not going to raise your premiums?

Name one American(or illegal immigrant for that matter) who was denied healthcare before this bill? There aren't any and never have been any. Welfare recipients and the uninsured walking into a clinic or the emergency room aren't refused medical care. It's not called called the Hippocratic Oath for nothing after all.

Hippocratic Oath

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.

I will not be ashamed to say "I know not", nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given to me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, be respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

No, it wasn't even vaguely explained, much less thoroughly, but thanks for your input.

It met enough of the criteria to be fast tracked. When it gets ruled unconstitutional the left will cry politics no matter when it happens. They should have shot it down before the states waste billions implementing the first part of this turd.

Hmmm. 0-2. Wrong on the whether it would be constitutional and who would be producing the tears.

Who paid for that?

Medicade, supported by the tax payers of the USA.

Medicade is only getting bigger with Obama care. So the medicade monster is growing, not shrinking.

Incorrect. All the un/underinsured do not qualify for medicaid. Even those who do don't necessarily have it.

Not true. Do you think Medicaid is going away? There will still be millions of people who will receive health care that wont have to pay for insurance or a tax.

I remember saying this sort of thing over and over when the Patriot Act was passed and the president asserted his right to kidnap and torture even US citizens without charging them with a crime in the name of "safety."

Where were you? :dunno:

I think the Patriot Act was passed before Phurfur decided to quit his job, live off his wife's government pension while b!tching about government largesse, and devoting his life to posting asinine quotes on a lightly trafficked internet message board.
