shorepatrol 1,871 Posted December 31, 2013 I would actually be much happier facing SF rather than GB and NO What was the score the last two times we played up here? Different animal coming to see you boys, going to be fun.
MDC 7,494 Posted December 31, 2013 Cheating? Seattle? Off the top of my head, you got the Saints with their bounties, Cam Newton taking money from SEC schools, and Michael Vick running an illegal dog betting ring. I wouldn't be using these teams as examples of virtue to besmirch the Seahawks. All teams have shades of grey. Shouldn't that one be on te Falcons?

NewbieJr 541 Posted December 31, 2013 Shouldn't that one be on te Falcons? And like Newton taking money in college, what does that have to do with cheating to get an edge in NFL games? The Seahawks and Patriots seem to be the ringleaders of that movement.

phillybear 366 Posted December 31, 2013 Shouldn't that one be on te Falcons? OK. Then let's go with WR that scream racial slurs and threats at citizens and RBs that beat their girlfriends. Look, you can try to pretend that your team is full of choirboys, but in the end, the lockerroom is full of dirtbags that are still on the roster. Cheating by the team itself? The Bounty Bowl. Andy Reid's kid died at training camp, for fock's sake. And I'm pretty sure Michael Vick still has a couple of dogs chained up in your backyard in Fishtown. And don't you think all these examples of out of control rage that I cited are symptomatic of abuse of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids, but that your players simply haven't been busted yet? lol. you're desperately trying to change the argument. There's no team in the NFL without a few undesirable players. There are no Brigham Youngs in the league and no one here claimed that their team's "sh!t don't stink". So you're basically arguing with yourself. Your team was called a bunch of cheaters. Because they are. More failed drug tests than any other team. And a coach who was kicked out of college because of his cheating.

The fact that the greatest secondary in NFL history can make WRs disappear while they run around stoned makes them beyond human and more like superheroes. They are penalized for taking performance debilitating drugs. Oh, you do realize that Saint Chip Kelly fled Oregon for the green pastures of Philadelphia because of NCAA investigation into his college's cheating and yes indeed Oregon was hit with sanctions after he left. phillybear 366 Posted December 31, 2013 I love it!! The Iggles are in the playoffs yet their fans are living in a Seahawk thread Sadly, just last week those same Eagle fans were chest thumping about how they were better than the Seahawks and how they had figured out the secrets of how to win in Seattle. They sounded so cocky. Big (-7.5) favorites over Dallas, worst defense in the league, no Romo, national TV. *choke* *choke* Escaped by the skin of their teeth with a 2 point win. Easy money in my pocket. :moneybag: So, fellas, what's the story on New Orleans?

I'd challenge that the Raiders secondary in 1983 of Mike Haynes, Lester Hayes, Van McElroy, and Mike Davis earns that distinction champ. In fact, this seasons Seahawk team isn't even their best in club history, as I would also take their 1983 version with Jim Zorn, Curt Warner, Steve Largent and Kenny Easley over this season's collection of clowns any day lol... And respectfully, having some holiday cheer I'd say let's not get glassy eyed here, maybe go discuss with some of your more 'experienced' Seahawk fans lol... Top heavy with Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, all can be argued as the best or among the very best at their position in the league. Brandon Browner was a Pro Bowler last year who is now an afterthought. Walter Thurmond beat out Browner for a starting job. Thurmond now can't beat out Byron Maxwell for a starting job. The group is elite and deep. Some interesting overall metrics to peruse, end of the season Seahawk numbers, especially in a league built to throw flags on defenders for merely glaring at a WR : #1 yards per game allowed at 273.6 (#2 team Carolina is 301.3 yard per game #1 Total Defense #1 Scoring Defense #1 Passing Defense #1 Pass Efficiency Defense #1 Passer Rating Against 63.4 (#2 team Cincinnati: 74.2) #1 Total Takeaways #1 Interceptions 28 (#2 Buffalo with 33) #1 Turnover Margin #2 in Punt Return Defense #2 in Yards Per Attempt (Passing/Offense) #2 in FG % #4 in Rushing Offense #5 in Passing Efficiency #7 in Rushing Defense Hey, I loved that 83-84 team, but it wasn't sitting at 13-3 with a #1 seed and sitting at #1 in nearly everybody's power ranking at the end of the regular season. How will it shake out? I don't know. If this season's team loses it's first playoff game, it will be a failure of a season and clearly it didn't advance as far as the 83-84 and 05-06 teams did. But I don't think there is any doubt in my mind or any Seahawk fans mind that this is the most talented team we've ever had. Now, it has to go out and finish it. At this point, since the league doesn't officially let us know what the alleged drug abuse if for, it's sealed, we have nothing to go on but what the players chose to tell us. Just ask that unbeaten Pats team about finishing. I completely agree, you have to finish it. Nothing else matters. Nothing. Although, was that game 28-14, or 30-14? Believe me, I have good thoughts towards that 83-84 team. I guess that's about the time of the Jim Zorn to Dave Kreig transition. It's not like there were many good years prior to those years, and many beyond that. We had a nice mini run in the mid 80's. Until we got exiled to the NFC and became the big dogs in the NFC West. We are just alpha dogging those bitches.

phillybear 366 Posted December 31, 2013 Got four words for you. Hasn't played all year. There's a reason he hasn't. He's soft. Like your stools. Hear me out. It's interesting. Harvin has been playing with a deforming hip socket for the past 25 years or so. This off season, after all that money Seattle ponied up, they wanted him to be 100%. So, they reconstructed his hip socket. Now, considering the advances in surgery, when ACL meant you were a gimp for 2 years to AP going for MVP in less than a year, I say that it is interesting. Now, when your muscles, ligaments, etc are moving in one type of pattern for several decades when you run, then suddenly, you have surgery, and you ask them to move in another way, albeit in the correct way, do you think they will be angry and sore? God, yes? So, this is what this debacle of a season for Harvin has become. Still, as Carroll was ready to write him off for the season, Harvin begged for another shot, and after practicing, they think he will play in Round 2 of the playoffs. Harvin is going to suck up the pain. And that is just what it is, pain. It's not reinjury. Harvin can only help. What, can you say decoy? Maybe he can actually play? Bonus!! Next season, Harvin will be better off than at any point in his career and finally become the co-#1 WR with Golden Tate.
