kilroy69 1,251 Posted April 20, 2014 don't forget Vince young scored a 6. Which is so low he can probably neither read nor write. Hell....being that stupid makes it hard to believe he can breathe

vrabinec 19 Posted July 7, 2014 Not sure why everyone thinks he's either boom or bust. I see him as a Jake Plummer type. Serviceable, but not spectacular. He's not gonna lead the league in passing, he's gonna be a decent locker room leader, despite him being a douche. So, I think he falls somewhere between a star and a flop. Because, if he doesn't get his sh*t together, he's going to make Josh Gordon and Justin Blackmon look like schoolboys getting detention. In related news, Manziel was photographed rolling up a 20 in a public bathroom. And you just know there's literally thousands of explanations for doing that. Breesman32 11 Posted July 9, 2014 This is sad, I hope he fails. the NFL does not need this and no way in any way will he outplay a true leader like Andrew Luck. Luck shows class still wins at qb more than not.
vrabinec 19 Posted July 9, 2014 I wonder if the Browns' brass doesn't keep him on the bench all year to "humble" him a bit. Not like they're gonna do anything this year anyway. They have no receivers. I think I'd stick Hoyer in there and let Johnny Football show how much he wants to play and how much he loves his blow.
Reality 3,121 Posted October 26, 2014 Cleveland is fighting it but, it's about time to see what the kid can do. Hoyer is below average.

browns16-0 30 Posted October 27, 2014 I am worried Manziel would be worse...yes he could play worse than Hoyer. I'm sure I'm just used to terrible qb play the last decade and a half, but I'm totally cool with a qb who averages close to 250 yds/game, an 8/2 td to int ratio, and 7-3 as a starter for the Browns. Manziel can stay glued to the bench, Obviously Hoyer is no Peyton Manning, but he may be an Alex Smith. As long as he doesn't turn it over and wins games that'll work. Reality 3,121 Posted October 27, 2014 I am worried Manziel would be worse...yes he could play worse than Hoyer.I doubt it but, maybe. Hoyer is struggling terribly against really bad teams. Very fortunate to get the win today. What's the best case scenario now 6-10 or 7-9. There is no benefit to those types of seasons, put the kid in and let him get the experience now. Right now that's most likely with Hoyer.

SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted December 2, 2014 Anyone see this play where Manziel - through his own fault - goty absolutely trucked, and basically created a fumble-6 in his official "Welcome To The NFL" moment? http://www.diehardsport.com/nfl/johnny-manziel-botches-snap-fumbles-bills-recover-td/ A few thoughts: The refs screwed this up so badly it's a disgrace. They called the tuck rule, which doesn't exist anymore. Botched snap count. Manziel was completely out of his depth. Impossible to tell if it was his fault for the missed snap or the center's but either way, not good. Look at Manziel's body language after he is run over. He basically just flops on the ground and lays on the turf like a child, then he zones out. Meanwhile the defense is falling on the rock for a TD. This is called Manzieling. That's not a good thing like Tebow who would kneel down after a big play or TD to thank the heavens, no this is Manzieling where he is planted into the ground and goes bye-bye after a disastrous play. The TD drive? I don't know, maybe he gets better and maybe that continues, but that wasn't the first time a backup QB scrambled his way to a garbage, time consuming TD when his team is already down 20 in the 4th. Buffalo would go on to two more FGs in the 4th.

Connorsdad 38 Posted December 2, 2014 Running Qbs usually don't last. I guess Manziel has a chance to be good for the short term. But he'll need to transform his game to more of a pocket passer to extend his shelf life in the nfl. I'm not a Browns fan but I'm definitely interested in seeing how his career plays out. People say he's not totally invested in football with off the field issues. I don't know anything about that for sure just what the media shows. I would think he would have a better chance if he moved being a better QB up his priority list.

The stock video they showed during the game (the one where the guys pretend to be casual, spinning a football, smiling, whatever) has him smirking his way through that "money" thing he does with his hands. Just made me want him to succeed even more. Like RGIII he's already got a a logo and trademarks. Unlike Andrew Luck.

It seems like Johnny Manziel is one of those players that are easy to dislike and root against. I guess you want your players to have swagger and confidence especially your QB. stonewall 647 Posted December 3, 2014 Not so fast! Staying with Hoyer. Indeed. Per Rotowire: Manziel will be the backup quarterback behind Brian Hoyer in Sunday's game against the Colts, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports. Spin: Manziel impressed in a brief showing last week, but the Browns will stick with the quarterback that got them this far even though Hoyer has not played well of late. It is possible Manziel could play this week or over the final three games if Hoyer continues to struggle, but it will be Hoyer opening under center Sunday against the Colts.
