NewbieJr 541 Posted January 6, 2014 Why only 2? What if I feel an independant will make the better president than the 2 main guys? This past election...only Obama really had a shot...so why vote for one of "2" guys when the other does not have a shot when I can vote for who I felt would make the better president? I already explained that. I think that Pittsburgh would have had a good chance to get to the Super Bowl if the had snuck into the playoffs. But laying money on them once they were not one of the 12 teams that qualified, would have been a waste. At some point, you realize who the actual candidates who have a chance are, and you decide who you think would make the better President. Or you can vote for Pee Wee Herman and think you've made a stand and accomplished something. Your choice.

NewbieJr 541 Posted January 6, 2014 My vote for Johnson accomplished as much as a vote for Romney would have. Sure. Because they both lost. But many many people (including Romney) went into that election thinking he had a chance to win. No one in the Johnson camp, including Johnson's wife or mother, thought he had a snowball's chance in hell.

BunnysBastatrds 2,728 Posted January 6, 2014 Iraq was a success on many levels. We now have a permanent precsence in the Middle East. We no longer have to ask Saudi permission to fly over their country when all the Arabs throw fifth century hissy fits. Our presence there, hated by most in the Middle East, is a stabalizing factor no one can argue against. If they wanna pound their chests, they don't do it nearly as loud as they did before Iraq. We are there for good and there's nothing they can do about it. We couldn't before Iraq.

I criticize the most vocal hacks on the board (which happen to be the righty hacks right now) But you can keep calling me a hack because I don't whine and cry about Obama constantly on a low traffic fantasy football message board. Glad RP jumped in with a parsed statement out of context now to try and act like he does anything. His obsession continues. Voters are lied to every single focking election...that is not voter fraud . What tons of actual voter fraud? Please prove that one...instead...you will google and find a few allegations out there from some fringe sight and think you actually did something. And whats great on this board...the righty hacks best thing they can do is call someone and ass clown or dumbass if they don't agree with you.

MDC 8,225 Posted January 6, 2014 Other than the lack of WMDs or relationship with al Qaida and the fact that it cost a trillion dollars, killed or injured tens of thousands of our troops, stretched our military thin and created more terrorists, the Iraq war was a huge success! Phurfur 70 Posted January 6, 2014 Feb. 10, 2010 On Larry King Live last night, Vice President Joe Biden said Iraq "could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government." The vice president said he’d been to Iraq 17 times and visits the country every three months or so. "I know every one of the major players in all the segments of that society" he said. "It's impressed me." http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2010/02/vice-president-biden-iraq-could-be-one-of-the-great-achievements-of-this-administration/

And 10 years later people like you are confused about history because of this political nonsense. Just because the intelligence was wrong doesn't make the person utilizing that intelligence a liar. People can debate all day about whether we should've gone in, if it was worth it, so on and so forth but this notion that Bush "straight lied" is just B.S. It's politically motivated mularky. Oh come on! That's pure bullsh!t and you know it. The Bush Administration used WMDs as pretext and cooked the intel to move things forward. At most they maaaaybe thought he had a few old tanks of sarin has lying around but that's it. All the talk about "mushroom clouds" and so forth was utter, complete, unequivocal horsesh!t. Did you even look at my link with all the quotes from Democrats regarding WMD's in Iraq? If Bush "straight lied" then Bill Clinton, Albright, Pelosi, Gore and all them straight lied to the American public too. Which is more convievable? All of Washington made up this lie and was in it "together" or the intel was bad and they all were misinformed? Take off your Acorn glasses, put on your logic hat and see if you can figure this out. ETA: Look, I'm not arguing if the Iraq War was a smart move or not, if mistakes were made, yada yada. I'm simply saying that folks who spew the "Bush straight lied!@#!" camp is factually wrong and motivated by political gamesmenship (partisan). And even today that mispresentation lives on with the lemmings.

This would be a good analogy is Boener, Romney, McCain and all of the GOP was telling folks "if you like your insurance you can keep it" too. Just like Clinton, Albright, Pelosi, Gore were saying the same things Bush did back then. But thats not what happend with the Obamacare quote, so your analogy sucks.
