Spot on. Not knowing who PSH was doesn't make you ahead of the curve.....actually quite behind it. As much of an ahole he was for overdosing....he was a pretty good actor.

Why would you call him an azzhole for overdosing? You think he was a junky because it was cool? you think he sat in a hotel bathroom and jammed a needle in his arm because it was fun?

 

I'm not one to make excuses, but growing up in a city that is over run with heroin and people overdosing, including some friends. I know the hell heroin can cause and how near impossible it is to kick.

 

Why anyone would ever touch it in the 1st place is beyond me, but I did and luckily I only snorted it and I don't have an focking hated how I felt.

Not to be that dumb pop culture guy but I certainly know who he was but really could not tell you one movie he was in. From the movies listed in this thread I think I only saw boogie nights and do not remember him in that. The only one I remember him is Catching Fire but only after reading it here.

I have sympathy for people who struggle with drag and alcohol addiction, even if they're selfish. My brain isn't wired that way, I've dabbled in even hard stuff and not wanted to go back to it. People who know they're destroying themselves and their family and for whatever reason feel powerless to stop it, I feel bad for them.
