For those of you who support a woman's right to choose

Recommended Posts

My links have all kinds of citations to the information they used. Feel free to look for whatever floats your boat.

Well, if you get the time to sift through all that info, I'll analyze the primary data.

As far as problems surfacing a decade or more after the fact, why do you assume they have anything to do with the abortion, as opposed to the decade+ of other activities before the problem(s) reared their ugly head(s)?

You can do your own sifting.

I'm not spending any time trying to convince you of anything. You are a pompous blowhard who thinks you are an expert on everything simply because you have an MD after your name.

Neither was I, I to was using my common sense to discuss what all this flawed and inconsistent data meant before you intervened. You simply didn't like my "possibilities" as it didn't meet your worldview, so you disparaged it and made your own.

No, you said you use common sense as a tiebreaker when conflicting data exists. I prefer to scrutinize the studies and use the best data. Or favor the opinion of someone with a scientific approach that does the same.

I don't really care about the distinction between first and subsequent abortions and mental health, but was responding to Dank's incredulity with the possibility that they could be different. In that context I wasn't commenting on any data, good or bad.

It's funny watching a guy with limited intelligence try to debate a doctor.

Google Pilot's pulling out all the stops. "You're a pompous blowhard"!! LOLOL .

A real doctor vs Googie Howser. Beat down of epic proportions. Talk about out of your league, RP.

It is obvious you are trained as an engineer, because you are uncomfortable with data which doesn't yield exact, immutable results. Unfortunately, much of medical and behavioral health data has limitations, including numerous confounding variables, which any good study should mention.

The APA is admitting the data are less than perfect, but using the best information we have they conclude mental health problems are not increased in women following their first abortion. If you disagree, you should do so based on better data, or accept that we just don't know one way or the other. Your personal opinion has no bearing on what the actual relationship may be.

While that is true, I also hate crappy conclusions in general. The placement of that "no good studies exist" statement is odd. I guess they used the best of the inadequate studies to draw their conclusion?

I readily admit that I question the results because it doesn't pass my common sense filter. I'm not saying that every woman who has an abortion goes crazy. But no psychological impact? Really?

Yes, they used the best data they have. A lot of medical literature reads that way - medicine is far more of an art than science at times.

Nobody has said there is no psychological impact from abortion. Just whatever impact there may be isn't longstanding or more severe than other stressful experiences women in childbearing years may encounter.

He brought his usual crap.

A few links he googled that met his needs...while ignoring the other links for the most part.

If someone else had a biased source...he cried.

While his sources proved to have bias...that didn't matter.

Then insult others for not believing as he did...pretty much the same as he has ever been.

Newbs fished...as I said, no ball sack on my eyebrows, just able to see both side of it.

You, as usual, can't see what a complete crap ball everything your boy GP does.

He got his ass kicked...you probably know it, just can't admit it here for whatever reason.

Now cry about how many words I used.

Dude, you're carrying contempt from that godforsaken Justina Pelletier thread...I have no special fondness for the psychiatric "industry."

But oddly enough, you seem to be in favor of the idea that women who abort must suffer from psychiatric illness. All those drug-pushing psychiatrists want more patients, right?

Which one?

The one from the outfit dedicated to expanding abortion rights?

The one that says there isn't enough data to make a conclusion, yet made one?

I'm going to go with #2 since you like to jump to conclusions.

Why, why, why, why is it that most of the people who are against abortion are people you wouldn't wanna fock in the first place? Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren't they? They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don't want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're focked.

You forgot to open the attachment on today's liberal talking point email. If you had you would also be telling us how conservatives want dirty air and water for women, children, the poor, and minorities. And if any survive that and get old those mean conservatives will push them off a cliff.
