Alright you tipping experts out there...

Recommended Posts

I think thats reasonable, though pizza is expensive where you live.

Generally when they tell me "that'll be 30 minutes" , I tell them to tell the driver that my tip drops at the 30 minute mark.

If you really say that, I can't imagine how many pubes and boogers are in your pizza

He might as well order a "Delivery Driver DNA pizza" because that is the types of topping he is getting on that little gem.

I get home at midnight after a 20 hour shift. I order a pizza because nothing is open and I have no time to do groceries.

The laziest people get their food at grocery stores with their food stamps and have all day to cook it.

7/11 has crap hours.

At least $3 is appropriate. I do $5 if they get it there in a reasonable period of time. Only instance I've gone below $3 was when it seriously took about two hours to get our fockin pizza (and it wasn't Super Bowl Sunday or anything). Stiffed that dude and then never ordered from there again since I was now "that guy".

No the laziest people Use the home ordering where some grocery store employee has to go around fulfilling your shopping list and getting it all ready for your fat ass to come pick up.

Meh, I only give pizza delivery people a couple bucks. It's not a hard job, unlike being a waiter. Hell, with GPS you don't even have to know your way around town anymore. Most places charge for delivery now, so I'm already paying. It's not my problem if the restaurants shaft the drivers. If they built the delivery charge into their prices, I bet the drivers would get around 100% more tips.

Are you being serious?

If so how do you know its the divers fault. I would also expect my food to be focked with if i were you. Never mess with the people in the food industry. Chuck Palahniuk got his ideas for fight club from people who worked in food industry. It really does happen.

is that how expensive pizza is now?

i havn't ordered a pizza in who knows how long but damn. I thought a large pie with a topping from a non chain pizzeria was like 17

id tip 4 or 5 dollars i guess.

On a related note, how do you guys tip at bars if you don't have a tab? each time i go up and get a drink i leave a dollar but im told this is old school and no longer acceptable.

Depends on the bar and bartender. I usually tip 30% of whatever the tab is at bars I don't usually go to. More at my favorite bars.

I've never heard that tipping a dollar a drink is bad?

I've never heard that tipping a dollar a drink is bad?

I think that is in some bars in Vegas/Mahattan/ect where it's like $15+ a drink. I remember out in Vegas last year, my sister's boyfriend knew the dude who owned this newer club in the Bellagio(I think? Might of been another big casino) that was a $50 cover, and he got us all in for free. The club was mostly Persians and super douchey trust fund babies, so it was actually a pretty awful place to be except for the smoking, smoking hot gold digging chicks all around. Anyways, I went to the bar and ordered a double Jack and Coke. At the time, pretty much my go-to drink, which I pay anywhere from $3 to maybe $7 or $8 in the town I live in(super cheap college town with drink specials at some bar almost every night). To my sincere shock it was $28. $14 per shot of Jack focking Daniels. I gave her $30, and she gave me the dirtiest look a person in the service industry has ever given me, since I usually am a great tipper.

So, I think $1 a drink is fine for normal drinks and beer since they take 2 seconds to make. If you are a f@g and get specialty drinks that require much more work, then obviously tip more.

I know some people who deliver food who say they are fine with a 10% tip, and most people give them more than that. And, yes, they do know the people who stiff them and the people who tip well, and you will be waiting a long, long time if you ever stiff a delivery guy and order from that place again. So, if you get delivery a lot, it is in your best interest to tip well.

  I would NEVER condone doing something to someone's pizza like spitting in it or some other nasty shtt.

What the drivers do to folks that say shtt like this is forget their drinks/condiments. Take their pizzas out of the container that keeps the pizza warm for the ride to your house as soon as you get in the car so the pizza is not as hot and fresh. Most of the time these drivers are leaving with multiple orders, so saying some crap like that ensures you are the last one to get your food. Your pizza might get handled a little rough, maybe even dropped at your door right in front of you. They may drive through your yard on "Accident". Some have received mysterious, harassing phone calls late at night just for the hell of it (Might be worth a few bucks to not have you sleep interrupted in the middle of the night every night for a week straight).

Generally, drivers do not care if a shtty tipper orders again. So they do not give a fock if you like the service. In fact, they hope most of the shtty/non tippers would call someone else.

Now, the good tipper will get their pizzas as fast as possible, will get extras when ordering drinks/condiments, etc..

Point is they will go the extra mile for you if you are a good tipper.
