So you would have benched Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and the Falcons D, and you think that is such a wise decision you not only had to state that, but you had to quote yourself to show people your thoughts twice? HOKIEZ 34 Posted September 19, 2014 Ant thats what happens when start scat backs over first round picks like lacy...no one saw any risk here..everyone acted like rainey was such a sure thing tonight
Serpent 51 Posted September 19, 2014 Ant thats what happens when start scat backs over first round picks like lacy...no one saw any risk here..everyone acted like rainey was such a sure thing tonight Shrug, it's fantasy. And if Rainey actually gets back in the game, he could still have a great stat day. The entire Buccs O is atrocious, and they weren't running Rainey to begin with, instead preferring to go 3 and out. No, I would have benched Bobby Rainey in favor of Donald Brown, as that was the question I originally responded to. Never bench your studs (Ryan, Julio, etc). But if you are deciding between two scrub players, take the guy that doesn't play on Thursday. That is all

Antiramie 50 Posted September 19, 2014 No I saw a rb (Rainey) who has produced and a rb (Lacy) who hasn't yet. This isn't an exact science.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted September 19, 2014 I hate sounding like a douche posting from hindsight, but sitting Rainey was an easy call if there is a viable alternative. Matt Ryan at home is a machine and a bad buccs team on the road and on TNF was a recipe for disaster. When picking between multiple rb 2-3-flex I always ask myself, is his team prob gonna win? A winning team runs the ball well into the 2nd half. A losing team heaves up desperation passes and can't afford to control the clock.
Phil Simms 11 133 Posted September 19, 2014 Is this one of those games where everything is in a players favor but they play terribly? Rainey with 50 yards and a fumble Cue Nelson - HaHa! Maybe he gets some garbage time scores? Mike James top add next week.

A winning team runs the ball well into the 2nd half. A losing team heaves up desperation passes and can't afford to control the clock. Who could have guessed that the Buccs would prefer to pass the ball every down rather than run against the worst run D in the league? I mean it takes a special type of stupid to do that. They had to know they can't protect and they suck at passing. They had to know the opposing offense was strong and it makes sense to shorten the game and control the clock. But they literally just refused to try to run. Even on 2nd and 1 they wouldn't run, preferring to eat 9 yard sacks.
dreen626 17 Posted September 19, 2014 I might be nuts but I'm starting Rainey over CJ Spiller and Darren Sproles. LOL
dreen626 17 Posted September 19, 2014 I'm starting, w/confidence, Rainey over R Bush, J Bell, D Woodhead, and S Vareen (two different leagues). Wow.
Eddie Kennison 12 Posted September 19, 2014 Guess Dougie's job is safe!
Fireballer 2,643 Posted September 19, 2014 I started him over Toby so their point total will end the same. Rainey just sealed his fate with that one.
PATSSOX 22 Posted September 19, 2014 Thanks Martin you little gerbil SOB!! If you'd played I wouldn't have played this sorry bastard
slotterr 2 Posted September 19, 2014 demoted to special teams, woohoo!
Fireballer 2,643 Posted September 19, 2014 Rainey with the ST tackle! He still has a chance at a big game.
Serpent 51 Posted September 19, 2014 LOL lol man. I actually went in and stuck Spiller and Sproles back in for next week. While I still believe in matchup plays with mediocre RBs, I don't have the margin for error the rest of the way out to goof around with RB starts like with Rainey. Serpent 51 Posted September 19, 2014 Sadly a Rainey TD there would actually have given him a salvageable fantasy line. Alas it was not to be.
fanfootballtn 33 Posted September 19, 2014 I still believe Rainey will score tonight. That was a good series for him. He had the most touches and could have scored before VJ did.
fanfootballtn 33 Posted September 19, 2014 Anyone else hoped that pick six would get tackled at the 1?

Serpent 51 Posted September 19, 2014 Anyone else hoped that pick six would get tackled at the 1? Rainey probably would have fumbled it anyway.
Antiramie 50 Posted September 19, 2014 I'll gladly take 6.5 all things considered.
Serpent 51 Posted September 19, 2014 I'll gladly take 6.5 all things considered. Yes, I agree. If he got that TD instead of VJ he'd actually have been a solid RB2 even with all that. I don't know if I will ever start Rainey again, but he'll stay on my bench at least.
Antiramie 50 Posted September 19, 2014 Mike James not being fully healthy was Rainey's saving grace. Otherwise we'd all be looking at negative points right now.
TheGiantJets 18 Posted September 19, 2014 Disaster avoided. Move on!
krusi123 9 Posted September 19, 2014 My guess is that those costly fumbles will put him behind Martin when Martin comes back week 4.
TheUsualSuspect 207 Posted September 19, 2014 Just got off work... What a Rainey roller-coaster of fantasy emotion. Fun read Fellas!
Serpent 51 Posted September 19, 2014 My guess is that those costly fumbles will put him behind Martin when Martin comes back week 4. My guess is that the TB offense will be so inept that none of them will be worth starting.

Birk 14 Posted September 19, 2014 woke up to 13pts from rainey...cant complain i thought i was gonna get under 5 the way that game was going
Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted September 19, 2014 Poor playing calling and lack of preparation. With that much energy from Atlanta, a few misdirection run and screen early would had helped. If it wasn't for those fumbles, a big game was certainly at hand.
