D.Murray's days in Dallas appear to be numbered

Recommended Posts

I think he ends up back in Dallas. They can lose their entire defense, bring in replacements, and still be a super bowl contender. Isn't that what they did last year lol...?

Raider fans are burning up the boards delirious about the rumors, but I like our young kid at RB already. Indy will regret not signing him. But I think he goes back to Dallas at this point, if only so Jerry can get his mug up on TV.

no way in hell he goes back for 5m per

i don't know why they wouldn't offer him a 3yr/30m deal with 16m guaranteed

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DeMarco Murray is expected to make a decision by Wednesday evening, and that the Raiders are believed to be offering the most money.

Oakland, Dallas, Philadelphia and Jacksonville are believed to be the four teams in the running. Yahoo's Charles Robinson reported Wednesday afternoon that Murray's "top choice" was to play for the Eagles. Reports have suggested the Cowboys have offered $5 million annually. Re-upping with the Cowboys makes by far the most sense from a football standpoint, but Murray has appeared quite peeved at Dallas' handling of his free agency.

predatory legal firms parse forums for unattributed stuff, and then try to sue the forum owner for IP violations. this has happened at several forums i'm a member of--it's not just a rumor.

best way to protect the forum owner is always to provide a direct link if you copy/paste. if you're summarizing in your own words, 'per roto' is perfectly fine.

doesn't matter if they have a leg to stand on. the MO for these guys is to use the threat of a lawsuit to extort money from site owners. whether or not the firm could win the suit is irrelevant--small site owners can't afford to pay a legal team, so even if the little guy wins, he loses. therefore he almost has to settle.

like i said, this is about good manners and being considerate to our host. if you're going to cut/paste, then take an extra second and cut/paste the link also. otherwise, summarize it in your own words.

Per Roto:

Free agent DeMarco Murray will visit the Eagles on Thursday.
Per ESPN's Adam Caplan, the Eagles' interest in Murray "got serious" on Wednesday, even after signing Ryan Mathews. The Jaguars already seem to have dropped out of the Murray running, while the Raiders were likely only included to drive up Murray's price tag. We'd expect Murray's decision to come down to the Eagles or Cowboys. Dallas' offer is $5 million annually. Mar 11 - 10:22 PM

lol. you think not?

here's the most notorious offender, which managed to extort a fair amount of cash out of several web forums before they were finally shut down. in each case, the firm uses the thread of a suit to force accused copyright offenders to settle out of court.

but really it comes down to common sense...and not being an . if you cut/paste text, cut/paste the link also. this prevents anyone from taking action against the forum, which should be the desired outcome for everyone.

I really didn't want Murray til I heard he was campaigning to come here. Now the thought of him in Eagles green trampling the Boys twice per year is kind of appealing.

D. Murray is acting like a scorned little biatch. A scorned little biatch who thinks her shiat is all that with prom on the horizon and still doesn't have a date... He picks up the phone and calls C. Kelly himself? Ha - what a desperate, pitiful move. Go and play in Philly - go and play in a state that has an income tax - go and play behind Mark Sanchez.

I hope to Gawd Stephen doesn't cave and up Dallas' offer - let him go.

I hope the Eagles are just driving up his asking price before Dallas caves.

One has to think that if Dallas was willing to up the price, they would of already done it... I think Stephen should tell Murray the offer is $5m today - 2morow it goes down to $4m.

Doesn't sound like it worked out too well for them.

Attribution is important and you're correct that the mere threat of a lawsuit can be a problem in and of itself. But the law actually offers pretty robust protections for forums and such

I've said since day 1, day after the season ended - don't over pay for him. I've also said I don't blame him one bit for trying to get as much $$ as he can. But it is funny he had to pick up the phone and call himself. I hope he does sign today so we can get back to focusing on the rest of our needs - namely defense. I'd be on the phone with G. Hardy if I were Stephen.

Is Hardy going to keep Murray from trampling all over the Cryboys 2x / year?

Funny you say that, as I'm selling Greg Hardy like a mother on the Raider boards. Can't believe his approval is about 50/50 now with my fellow fans. Hard to believe even Raider fans have morals.

Tell you what, you do a google search for 'Greg Hardy trouble' and all you're going to get is 20 pages of this latest comedy. Other than a late hit on RGIII (and I certainly don't fault him for that), this guy is clean.

I'm not saying he did or he didn't, but there's a lot of holes in that bimbo's story. There sure as hell ain't no video. We're talking about probably the best true 4-3 DE still out there. He's no tweener, or 'edge rusher,' this guy's a legit DE who can play the run and get after the QB. Mark Davis is acting the idiot and publicly saying they won't sign him. All the while going through another year of having potential FAs turn their noses up.

But Dallas... I'm surprised J Jo hasn't signed him yesterday. Word I'm hearing is two games. Well worth the squeeze.

buddy, it doesn't matter how things ultimately turn out 5 years later. you can shadetree lawyer all you want, but what matters is that refusal to post links can cause a lot of trouble for the guys actually running the forums. it has happened to a number of websites, who never received any compensation when righthaven went out of business. this is completely preventable by simply posting a link when you copy/paste.

it's common courtesy. how is this hard to understand?

Man I am totally on board with you here. Hardy is a beast and he's young. I know about his troubles in the past, I also know there is a lot of uncertainties of what really happened. I'm sure he's no saint - but I'm also sure he may be willing to turn his life around and make the most of a new opportunity.

IF the almighty Murray walks ...

... and Dallas does somehow get Adrian Beatshisson into the fold ... could they actually stand the heat of having two of last year's poster boys for domestic abuse on board?

from a PR standpoint, i don't think they could have both -

The ONLY blurb I've caught on his situation is Cincinnati maybe offering up a one year prove it deal. I'm more amazed Hardy hasn't received an offer than I am Murray hasn't. But welcome to today's NFL.

This is an interesting topic, but let's shelve this for another day/thread and stay on the DeMarco Murray subject.

Thanks guys.

I'm really not trying to be funny here.. But yes I do. This town has been starved of football greatness for 20 focking years - not since Neil O'Donnell hit Larry Brown in the #'s has this fan base sniffed a tile. They finally got a real taste of blood last year and they know they are close. I think all would be forgotten, quickly, if Jerry put the star on AP and Hardy's helmets. Pathetic or not - winning cures all.

If Murray really moves on, Dallas needs to get ADP. He's one of the few backs out there that could step right into a workhorse role and produce.

Ha ha ha those pics of Jones hit the streets, with a stripper draped on him and his pants down at his knees, and Cowboy fans could care less. Of course most fans have probably ran into him at any variety of public houses in Dallas over the last 25 years lol...
