Old School 360 Posted January 19, 2015 Yeah- the bracelets and charms for the wimmens. The wifey (Asian Bs) has hinted that she wants one of these bracelets. Trying to decide if it's an overpriced novelty- or something she will enjoy- and provide a way to give her a gift of trinkets (charms) throughout the year. Looks like $250 to $300 buy in. $60 for the silver bracelet. $60 each for the 2 charms deals that hold everything in place, and $60 or more for the centerpiece charm. Your wives, GFs, or moms wear these things? Anybody going broke buying these damn trinkets?

tanatastic 2,062 Posted July 2, 2015 My wife has the necklace as well as the bracelet. The stupid trinkets cost 50 bucks a pop and she needs one every so often. Stupid.
FeelingMN 273 Posted July 2, 2015 I just found out about spotify today. I hate pandora with all of the crap music they make me listen to until i get to the song i wanted. The thing about Spotify I don't like is they don't pay the artist for songs played. Otherwise very good service. Personally, I go Rdio. Much better than Pandora. Djgb13 2,339 Posted July 2, 2015 I just found out about spotify today. I hate pandora with all of the crap music they make me listen to until i get to the song i wanted. It's great. Especially if you do the monthly cause then you build your own playlists and can play them offline. They have a ton of different playlists for different occasions, moods, genres, ect

I don't listen a ton but I used to use Pandora; like others sick of the commercials on the free app. Haven't used Spotify but heard it is similar. Recently on my wife's suggestion I downloaded iHeartRadio; seems similar to Pandora with no commercials. ETA: I hadn't known that iHeart added the Pandora-like station option. They still offer a ton of actual stations if you want to listen to a game or talk show or whatever.

lickin_starfish 1,893 Posted July 2, 2015 Pandora pulled a good one on me... I had it cranked up on my garage radio while I was outside doing yard work. Avenged Sevenfold/Disturbed playlist was rocking out. I went around to the front of the house to do something, and when I came back, Fallout Boy was blasting out of my garage. I felt like such a fahg, and I hope my neighbors didn't hear it.
OldMaid 2,129 Posted July 5, 2015 I just switched from Spotify to Apple music, since I get a free month. Plus, it should work in China, unlike Spotify. You get 3 free months with Apple music. That being said... it's a focking mess. Between the Photos fiasco and now this... I'm not happy. For all those who detest the commercials on Pandora... Weblock makes an app that essentially kills the ads. You have to be connect to your home wifi network for it to work, though.
NEWPOSTERGUY! 288 Posted July 5, 2015 I just found out about spotify today. I hate pandora with all of the crap music they make me listen to until i get to the song i wanted. - been on Spotty now for 2+ years, have over 3,000 songs in my catalog ... built a dozen or so playlists for different moods/activities (hungover, working out, working out while hungover, etc ...) got a free 3 month premium trial membership as a perk when i purchased my Galaxy 6 phone last summer ... been renewing since (roughly $10 per month) ... it;s automatically added to my carrier's bill (Sprint), so i never even feel it. have it going now, on shuffle, with morning coffee and smokes ... couldn't imagine life without it now ... cannot praise the seamless satisfaction this mofo has given me enough ... top notch all the way

I was already being praised for having a quality playlist at a 4th party last night, and i just got the app a few days ago.

FeelingMN 273 Posted July 5, 2015 You mean they dont pay the artists more if their music is played more? Or they dont pay artists at all? The money paid is hoarded by record labels. So they get paid, just not as much as they think they should. And I'm not sure if this is an industry problem or something specific to Spotify, but I've seen Spotify consistently criticized for it. And it's just some of the bigger artists who seem to think they're being wronged. Lesser known artists seem alright with it. Business part of it aside....it's an excellent service. You will like it. I've been using it all weekend with zero problems. Basically all they did was move all the curated stuff from beats and fold it into iTunes. I also have the iTunes synch, where my entire music collection is stored in the cloud. So now the music app has all my music and apple music. Speaking of Apple... My brother inane just showed me that I can sell my iPhone 6 plus for 3000 dollars in China. Apparently the ones they sell there only work on the Chinese network, and people want one they can travel with. So US models sell for stupid prices. I think I am going to fill my suitcase with iPhones before I go.

Wrong album art, wrong tracks within albums, missing music, etc. It's been enough to make me hold off on signing up. They got rid of home sharing on mobile devices. It still works with AppleTv, but I'm pretty pissed about losing it on my phone and iPad. I used this feature a lot. I hope you made a copy of your entire iTunes library before signing up. The way it works now, if you accidentally delete a song, when you redownload it, it will be overwritten with a DRM copy. And once you stop paying for Apple Music, you will lose the ability to play those songs. I understand why this was put in place, but it still makes me nervous. I've been with Apple for a long time... but I have to say that this year (iOS 8/Yosemite) has been a HUGE disappointment.

Frankly though, I'll probably never use it. I'm pretty certain I'll be paying for a subscription music service for life at this point. The main thing I like about Apple music over Spotify is that I can control it with Siri. Which, when combined with the new "hey Siri" feature, is pretty nice. I can play a playlist, album, or song, skip tracks and whatnot, without ever looking at or touching the phone.

You could use Siri and Hey Siri to control music before. It's not exclusive to the new Apple music format. Anyhow... I'm glad you haven't experienced any difficulties. I think I'm still going to wait for a bit, though. I jumped the gun on Photos/iCloud photos and it's a clusterfock. Yes, it's nice having them all on each device, but not being able to delete from one, without deleting from all, is making me insane. It kinda feels like a sneaky way to force you into buying more iCloud storage.

Now you can control Apple music via Siri. You can play any song ever with a simple voice command. I didn't copy my library over recently, I did it years ago. Rather than take up all my storage space, I did the iTunes Match thing. Frankly, I rarely ever listen to music that way anymore anyway. I don't even own a computer anymore. Just the phone. I so rarely need to type anything anyway, and I have a Bluetooth keyboard if I have to. I use google photos rather than Apple photos. It seems to work pretty well.
