Seattle 30

NE 20

Let's face it. NE is very average on defense, and Wilson and Lynch will be able to do whatever they want against them all game.

The reverse will not be true.

Can the Pats stop Marshawn? To me that is the entire question. If they can contain Marshawn Lynch then I don't see Seattle making many plays through it's passing game. But if Marshawn gets rolling, then the play action becomes deadly.

I think the Pats do contain Marshawn (Belichick takes away your best option) and wins a relatively low scoring affair. 21-17 or the like.

these are interesting thoughts

if the pats come out blazing like the packers did, i think they would have put away the hawks easily regardless of the fourth quarter

if the hawks contain the pats offense and keep the score close then the wilson and lynch scheme will factor heavily in the outcome of the game, which i still think will be very close

Pats 28 Seahawks 10

Seahawks have been proven beatable just yesterday while the pats destroyed Indi.

Pats are just the better all around team with an almost as good defense. Face it Seattle's offense is average at best, the patriots absolutely demolished a real offense yesterday.

Should be a blowout.

i love how the predictions will be skewed in the superbowl because of the last game. As if the Patriots never played a bad game and Seattle always play that bad. I think the comeback win for the Seahawks boosts their confidence even more than before. They feel they can win in any situation now. And the emotions are high.

Seattle - 35

N.E - 24

Pats have a better offense than Seattle. Period. Seattle has a better defense than the patriots. Period. Defense does win championships. But also so does smart coaching which patriots have in bulk. It'll be a close game with both sides having the chance to win. I still favor the patriots in this one though and hope they pull it off

Patriots > colts > broncos > Seahawks

Indy is a JV team with no defense or running game. The Hawks beat the Broncos twice in the last year. We'll see about the Hawks and Pats soon enough, but good luck getting 3 points on a team favored by 1.5 at the moment :) (unless of course you're willing to pay for the 4 or so points)

If the Seachickens get pressure on Brady like they got on Manning last year and disrupt Patriots offense, I can see a repeat of last year's Superbowl.

Please explain to the room how NE is better than Denver was last year - because I'm not buying it. Seattle dismantled Denver last year, and will do the same to NE this year.

You somehow are thinking that because Green Bay handled Seattle in SEA that NE will be able to do similarly.

You think wrong.

Let's see:

Brady >>> Manning (playoff versions)

And more importantly: Belichick >>>>>>>> Fox (any version)

Is that a good start?

revis and browner, healthy gronk, the list goes on. This could be the best, most balanced team the pats have ever to the Superbowl.

Patriots 24 Seahags 12

Pats D contains Lynch, and Brady dumps it over the middle to Gronkowski and Edelman all night. Game over. There is no defense for Gronkowski. He's like an aircraft carrier or a strategic bombing wing.

Didn't most people consider Denver's team from this year better than last year's, with their improvements defensively? Well this Patriots team went into their house and put a whoopin' on 'em. Denver put 20 points on Seattle at Seattle, they put 21 points on the Pats at home. And the Patriots put 42 on them, while Seattle put up 26.

And before anyone says anything about Peyton, he was tearing sh!t up at that point. Here are his passer ratings from the first 10 weeks, see if you can magically pick out when he played Seattle and New England;

111.9

143.9

85.7

110.2

117.9

157.2

124.2

80.9

Then how is it that NE didn't get past DEN last year? :dunno:

I don't see it, fellas. SEA is not losing to NE.

look at my post, revis, browner, healthy gronk, and another year under the belt for the beast Collins who can cover and rush. Completely different team than the one who faced Denver last year.

No Gronk, no Wilfork. Crappy receiving corps - we wheeled out Austin Focking Collie in the playoffs last year. Talib getting hurt. :dunno:

Teams change from year to year. Denver isn't the same team as last year. Same as NE and Seattle.

I don't think there's any further point in me commenting more. I'm laying money on SEA, and I'm very comfortable doing so.

That's cool. Are you getting points, or is it still a pick-em? It looks like the sharps came in pretty heavily on New England the way that line moved.

I think the Hawks are going to have a hard time with Gronk down the seam and with Edelman in the slot, doing Randall Cobb-like stuff across the middle. KJ Wright has not been covering TEs as well as he did last year, and as big as Kam is, he's probably not laying out Gronk. These flaws on D can be made up for with pressure up the middle, but we've lost our two most disruptive interior defenders in Mebane and now Jordan Hill. You may have noticed that pressure up the middle in the Pack game was virtually non-existent. We only got to Rodgers around the ends and Brady will get rid of the ball before then.

On the other hand, I think the return of Justin Britt at RT means we can go back to mashing the Pats on the ground. We'll see more read-option stuff and in a matchup of our offensive line against Pats' defenders, I think we win that battle. Lynch and Wilson both have big games on the ground. I think the return of Helfet means we'll see more 2 TE sets and make them guess whether we're running or throwing from that formation. Then the occasional explosive play over the top with Angry Doug or with Kearse.

I see this as a pretty close call but I would rather bet the over than either team at the moment.

Calling it Seattle 30 Pats 27.

I don't think it holds a candle to those '03-'04 teams.

The receiving core this year with the exception of gronk isn't as good.

what's edelman? chump change?

Honestly? Yes. I don't see Edelman thriving anywhere else except NE. Brady has the ability to elevate his receivers to the next level of play. Don't get me wrong I love Edelman and the things he does but a top 15 receiver he is not. NE needs a top 15 receiver at least. If they somehow acquire Fitzgerald or someone with that kind of talent then I could see their receiving corps becoming deadly.
