NFL: 11 of 12 Pat's balls under inflated.

Recommended Posts

If the Pats dropped off underinflated balls and the refs approved them, then this is over. That's no different than what Rodgers and the Packers do.

Did they lose that game?

Sure.

Calling a franchise with 13 titles a losing franchise because they lost in the NFC Title game in the 2014 season is maybe the dumbest thing said in this thread (which is saying a lot).

Interesting that other teams have not been busted with balls out of spec though when playing in cold conditions...did they just not check...or are you, like all pats fans...looking for a way, any way possible for it not to be the fault of the Patriots?

My guess...based on the facts...is the latter.

I have an angry steelers fan friend who spouts about all the titles they had back in Jim Crow before free agency and salary caps...

The balls don't become out of spec until they have reached equilbrium in the colder gamefield condition. There is no rule to measure balls midway during the game, only 2:15 before the game while the balls have been in indoor conditions...

Do you not see how you are missing these obvious points?

Can you be that thick?

if the Patriots started at 12.5 and the Colts 13.5. Assuming the weather made them shrink 1 PSI. Can you not figure that out?

Reports have the Cheatriots balls at 10.5 lbs, which is a 2 lb drop. If that's the case the Colts balls would all be illegal as well at 11.5 lbs. I handed you your ass on this very thing several pages ago. Seems you are the one who is thick, Sport.

did they just not check...

they "checked" b/c the sore loser Ravens tipped off the Colts that NE was using illegal formations err... underinflated balls.

I mean... there has to be SOME reason NE beat BAL, right?

And when they checked, the PSI was down 1.5psi - and science has explained how hot/cold/air/and psi works.

Why weren't GBs foot balls underinflated? They weren't checked b/c nobody cried about it... and if they were checked, they'd have been right on the money b/c Aaron Rodgers over inflates them every game to begin with.

You are backwards (shocking) it was reported a 2lb drop, which if you ignore the lack of scientific precision and simply subtracted 2 from the minimum psi you would get 10.5 psi... I haven't heard they were gauged at 10.5psi...

I see you are too thick too comprehend we are talking about PSI measurements.

ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio reports that while the NFL report stated that 11 of the balls supplied by the Patriots were 2 pounds below the league’s minimum PSI threshold, the balls were ACTUALLY ONLY 1 POUND BELOW THE LIMIT.

We don't have any actual measurements....

What I find funny is that the parallels between this and the Michael Brown coverage, where HenryHill given his stance here would have already convicted and sentenced Officer Wilson...

You must have missed this bombshell:

But what has the NFL really found? As one league source has explained it to PFT, the football intercepted by Colts linebacker DQwell Jackson was roughly two pounds under the 12.5 PSI minimum. The other 10 balls that reportedly were two pounds under may have been, as the source explained it, closer to one pound below 12.5 PSI.

I can't wait for Marshall Faulk to chime in that he's suspected all along that NE was using illegal formations and flat footballs in the Rams' superbowl loss.

Hmmmmm.......a sportswriter with credibility issues vs. the NFL......

Florio has reported many errors. His most notorious came in 2007 when he reported that broadcaster and former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw had died in a car accident.[14] In 2012 Florio posted a column about why players shouldn't miss games for their child's birth[15] which was widely ridiculed.[16][17][18]

  • They won their first three by league standing (1929, 1930 and 1931), and 10 since the NFL's playoff system was established in 1933 (1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1996 and 2010).

13 TITLES!!!!!!

Now edjr is editing and manipulating the media's quotes. If you are going to lie to us and edit the quotes from the story at least put it in the same font and boldness so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Here is the actual quote from your link.

The other 10 balls that reportedly were two pounds under may have been, as the source explained it, closer to one pound below 12.5 PSI.

It was one source who thought they MAY HAVE BEEN.......

They weren't actually anything as of yet as we don't know. And stop editing actual media quotes, that's pretty low.

I go where the facts take me.

If all the facts pointed to Wilson killing the gentle giant in cold blood, and he had a long, well-documented history of killing people in cold blood, I would have been on the other side of that one.

this.

everyone wants the click/ratings/viewership/revenue... "reporting" and facts are irrelevant anymore - this applies to more than just sports. It really is a problem today that "news" is beholden to the dollar and needs sensationalsim and hyperbole to sell itself.

The plain facts are boring.

A guy goes into a bathroom for 90 seconds - what did he do? The simple, logical answer is boring.

I'm not the guy posting and quoting some random opinon peice as facts.

The actual quote from Mike Florio's article was:

The other 10 balls that reportedly were two pounds under may have been, as the source explained it, closer to one pound below 12.5 PSI.

So there is no ACTUALLY anything. You are quoting some guys edited opinion from the "daily caller" and portraying it as a fact.

Idiots do that.

Smart folks see through it. Hope This Helps.

NFL. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reports that a source told him only one of the 11 balls was 2 PSI below the limit, and the other 10 were underinflated by around 1 PSI.

edjr, you've been consitently wrong in this thread. I suggest you get off the rumor websites and stick to the more mainstream news sites. While they are sensationalizing things too, its probably the best info we have.

Reading some random Pats blogger and then posting what he says here as a FACT is downright dumb. Just tyring to help.

Guys, guys, who gives a sh!t? The point is that the previous report that 11 of 12 were 2 psi under was apparently wrong and we really don't know what the fock the psi measurements were at this point...yet alone can we compare them to actual psi measurements before the game because they may not have even taken actual measurements

We already know that Florio wrote a collumn saying his source says that 10 of the 11 balls MAY HAVE BEEN closer to one psi deflated than 2. Nobody is suggesting Florio didn't write that.

What I'm suggesting is that one source doesn't make it a FACT. That there are conflicting reports, from differenet sources. That we still don't know for certain so stop acting like this one report with a "may have been" is Gospel.

Jeebus your dumb. Like retard dumb.

Maybe not wrong, just not facts.... A fact would be a reading from a gauge that at least does tenths of a % given the rule is listed in tenths of a percent... 1.5psi under could be rounded to roughly 2 PSI... We just don't have any facts.
