You don't hurt my Tom Brady's feelings!@#!

Indianapolis writer Bob Kravitz, who works for television station WTHR, said he was floored by the volume of response from Patriots fans after he wrote the first story about #DeflateGate.

“Feedback? Hell, it’s been a tsunami of hatred,” Kravitz said, via Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. “My office voice mail is full. My emails are overflowing from New England fans. The tweets are just out of control. It’s gotten very personal, very mean-spirited, some anti-Semitic remarks, some threats to my well-being, but, then, I didn’t expect otherwise.

“I’ve been in the business for over 30 years and I’ve developed some very thick skin over the years. I’m a big boy; I can handle it. I’ll say this: New England fans are among the most vocal and passionate I’ve ever seen

I think we, the Geeks, concur. This thread is 33 pages long.

I noticed that you cut off the most important part of his quote from that article:

New England fans are among the most vocal and passionate I’ve ever seen, which is a good thing.

GREGG DOYEL ON D&C: PATRIOTS ‘IN SAME SENTENCE’ AS 1919 BLACK SOX

http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/newengland/football/patriots/2015/01/29/gregg-doyel-on-dc-patriots-in-same-sentence-as-1919-black-sox/

Appearing on the Dennis & Callahan Show Thursday morning from Radio Row in Phoenix, Indianapolis Star columnist Gregg Doyel went to the extreme of comparing the Patriots’ alleged transgression in regards to Deflategate to theWhite Sox fixing the 1919 World Series.

“In 1919 the Black Sox rigged the World Series to lose it. In 2015 is what is being accused is the Patriots rigged the AFC Championship Game to win it,” Doyel said, adding, “You’re saying we had a team rigging a World Series in 1919 to lose it and we think that’s the worst crime ever. Having a championship game rigged to win it, it’s in the same sentence.”

When questioned about how he could compare the magnitude of potentially adjusting air pressure inside footballs to fixing a World Series, Doyel didn’t back down.

“It’s rigging a game,” he said. “Either you’re playing on an even playing field and giving the other team a chance to win it or lose it fairly, or you’re rigging the game. It’s rigging the game. I don’t know what else to say, it’s rigging the game.

“The football is the most basic thing you play with. That’s the actual ball and it’s every single play.”

Doyel went on to explain how he thinks the recent controversy has put a permanent scar on not only the perception of the Patriots, but also Tom Brady.

“This could be the greatest quarterback, coach combo ever, and that’s how it will go down in your neck of the worlds. In the other 49 ½ states they cheat and so how good are they? That’s the legacy and I’m going to tell you that’s true. This is not me saying they cheated the Colts, but this is me saying legacy is perception.

“Here’s the thing with Brady, with me specifically ‘¦ He’s evolution. He’s bigger, taller, better looking, more talented, smarter, funnier. I think he’s fabulous and untouchable, until about a week ago. Now, you know what, he’s just like everybody else. I think the legacy is he’s a great, great, great quarterback, comma, just like everybody else.”

What a maroon

GREGG DOYEL

I stopped there. That dude is a shock jock sports writer. He's a fisherman. He only writes and says things to get reactions. He's worse than Skip Bayless.

People are really going over the edge on this. It is unlikely they ever tie this to anyone other than some low level fall guy, this is just business as usual for this team. Sure we nip this one, in a year or two they will be caught cheating in some other way that is easuly minimized.

no kidding, next thing you know they'll be spraying themselves with deer antler spray or having unauthorized personal on the sidelines helping them coach.

this is so dumb - the refs inspect the ball before the game, both teams play with the ball but nobody really notices until a "tip" from another team comes in? And then we want the refs TPS reports on the ball? Do they have TPS reports on the grass height and field paint too - there could be teams lost out there against NE if the field paint isn't to spec!

Question: are there TPS reports on the ball there for every other game except this one? If so, that'd be suspicious.

Can Goodell get fired already? He is the biggest harm to the NFL "SHIELD" as any person ever.

Game over. I expect an apology from all the haters. You can all collectively eat zhit

Translation IMO: the officials didn't test the pressure but they can't admit that. The NFL will come out with a finding that given the variability of temperature differences they can't conclusively determine that the Patriots did anything wrong. Regardless they'll put better checks in place for the future. In the background they'll tell the Pats to quit focking around.

There was another report that a lot of times they just squeeze the footballs and let them go. Aaron Rodgers said something early in the deflategate flap that had me wondering how well they really test these. He said he likes his footballs overinflated and sometimes he gets lucky and the refs don't take any air out of the ones he picks out. The Pats maybe are the opposite, they passed in some footballs that were a little under inflated. Refs just gave them a squeeze and let them go.

I also ready another article saying the NFL does not need a reasonable doubt case to punish the Patriots. If they feel the Pats did something wrong they could punish them with very minimal evidence. But it's beginning to sound like the procedure is broken. Refs are suppose to check the pressure and inflate or deflate the footballs to the proper pressure.

They need to clarify the rule that the ball must MAINTAIN a PSI between 12.5-13.5, which would require every game played in the cold to have the balls pumped up at halftime to get them back into spec...

If by exposed you mean shown to have enough critical thinking skills to put two and two together and see how obvious it is that your team cheated again, then yes, I have been exposed.

It is my personal belief that the refs didn't really inspect the PSI before the game started and that they were underinflated at that time.

Is it really your contention that someone manually under inflated eleven game balls on the sidelines of a conference championship game without anyone noticing? Without anyone catching it on video or anything? Without some lowly ball boy cracking and admitting that he tampered with the footballs?

Which one is crazier?

Apparently you Pats fans think the Colts can get away with deflating a ball on the sidelines of a Conference Championship game without anyone noticing.
