NFL: 11 of 12 Pat's balls under inflated.

NFL says they were measured. Keep flailing away, Al. :overhead:

NFL hasn't said anything besides there is an investigation

That's what somebody said an anonymous source from the NFL said - again, terrible reporting and possibly completely inaccurate

The ref in charge of checking them has been quoted saying he checked them in links already provided in this thread, Flounder.

We just don't have any facts.

Correct.

Let me break this down for edjr and the like.

When a fluid story like this comes out, one where a definative answer or report has yet to be given and wherenone of us were actually there, we can only go by what is reported.

The normal course of action should be:

1. As new reports come in you look at that infomation with a grain of salt but go on it none-the-less as its all you have.

2. If more reports come in, from another source, saying the same thing that information seems to be validated and we can go on the assumption that is what happened.

3. If a conflicting report comes in from a 3rd valid 'source' that should give you a bit of pause......and bring you back to #1 and put the grain of salt squarely back in the mix until the actual, factual report comes out.

This is crassic!

Hey Ed, here is Mike Florio saying the NFL says the balls were properly inspected prior to the game......and.......and......wait for it.........they were 2 PSI under when checked again at halftime.

i thought you said a ref was quoted ? Which one, does he have a name ?

Someone else brought the link earlier. You are free to look for it.

you're lying, there hasn't been an official quoted.

Smooth move to try and cover your tard ass, but like the cowboys, it failed.

Like Dez Bryant, Henry Hill was reaching for the endzone before he made sure to secure the ball... Ends up with nothing.

And instead, you went:

1. The Patriots are guilty

Now granted, you have at least backtracked as it became apparent that we are lacking basically any reliable information on the matter. I give you credit for that

In the comment section of last deflategate ESPN article

"So as the clouds part over Foxboro and it becomes obvious Deflategate was just a witch hunt conducted by sore losers one name has come to the forefront. The ringleader if you will. His name Mike Kensil. Who is that you ask? Well that’s exactly the same question I asked when I first heard his name mentioned to me 2 days ago from a source close to the Pats. They said look this guy up. Well it turns out he is the former President of the Jets. He was there when Belichick turned in his resignation to come to the Pats. He was there during Spygate. His friends will tell you that he obsesses over his hatred of the Patriots. That he swore 1 day he’s get back at Belichick for leaving him the lurch and sending the Jets into a downward spiral of ineptitude and ruining his career.

Yes it is this Mike Kensil who is now Dir. of Football Operations at National Football League who was prowling the Colts sidelines last week. Yes it is this Mike Kensil, the former Jet with a longstanding grudge against the Patriots who was proactively looking for deflated footballs last week. It is the same Mike Kensil who whispered to Bob Kravitz in a dark tunnel of Gillette about deflated footballs. I’ve even heard rumors that he and the Colts equipment manager conspired to actually deflate the one football that came in at 10.5 PSI. The rest were closer to 11.5 PSI. It is this Mike Kensil who called Chris Mortensen to leak the story about Deflategate.

This of course explains why the league never said anything to the Patriots beforehand about deflated footballs. Why the Colts would risk playing the first half at a disadvantage. Because this was never about fair play. This was never about the integrity of the game. This was simply about revenge plain and simple. It was Mike Kensil trying to set a trap and embarrass the Patriots. Unfortunately what Mike Kensil and the rest of the world found out the hard way is that you don’t trap Bill Belichick, Bill Belhick traps you. Now the NFL is sitting with their in their hands. Belichick has all the answers and NFL looks like incompetent buffoons once again. And once again the NFL is going to have to take a hard look in the mirror and investigate itself over wrong doing. All because Mike Kensil had a grudge. For shame. For shame"

I have an angry steelers fan friend who spouts about all the titles they had back in Jim Crow before free agency and salary caps...

The balls don't become out of spec until they have reached equilbrium in the colder gamefield condition. There is no rule to measure balls midway during the game, only 2:15 before the game while the balls have been in indoor conditions...

Do you not see how you are missing these obvious points?

Great...the Packers have won a title more recently than the Patriots.

So again...calling them a loser franchise is idiotic and tied for the dumbest thing said today (with Newbie's...selfies = banging chicks)

I see how you are making claims about balls in other stadiums...yet none of them are being investigated by the NFL like the Pats.

I see you are holding on to whatever theory you can to keep defending the Pats.

Packers beat the Patriots...both this year...and for one of their recent Super Bowls.

Yet again, a Pats fan tries...and misses badly.

they "checked" b/c the sore loser Ravens tipped off the Colts that NE was using illegal formations err... underinflated balls.

I mean... there has to be SOME reason NE beat BAL, right?

And when they checked, the PSI was down 1.5psi - and science has explained how hot/cold/air/and psi works.

Why weren't GBs foot balls underinflated? They weren't checked b/c nobody cried about it... and if they were checked, they'd have been right on the money b/c Aaron Rodgers over inflates them every game to begin with.

Or because GB does not tamper with balls after they were checked like the Pats may have done in this instance.

You Pats fans just keep holding on hope...somehow believing everything you are fed by your team.

Its funny to watch.

And the bolded is not really established by anything.

Other than Rodgers saying he likes them over and will push the limit to see if they catch it.

BTW...what advantage does that give him (other than his own feel)?

In all fairness, we'd be doing the exact same thing. Especially if this was the second scandal. Can't blame Pats fans for wanting to believe their team is clean. This time.

I think green bay does tamper with the balls after inspection, prove me wrong.

exactly.

and if a ball is under (or over) inflated, can't the ref or players tell? or do they need a "tip" from someone to figure this out?

I just don't understand all the cloak&dagger / conspiracy stuff... it's on par with GW Bush Blowing up the WTC... just dumb... but gets clicks and ratings I guess.

Yes...I see how retarded it is for you to make claims about a team not being investigated...while trying to defend one that is.

Prove you wrong?

Link me to any accusation that they do? Link me to the NFL finding them out of compliance with the rule?

My proof is that no such thing has happened.

I agree, nobody accused green bay of doing such a thing, hence no investigation.

If they do some day, the league will have to investigate.

Pretty easy.

You may be right. :dunno:

But if it was nothing I'd hope the NFL would've either A. come out by now and say they have nothing or B. not have publically stated they were doing a full investigtion with 40+ interveiws, etc. based on nothing.

OR

There is something and you, me, we, and all these bloggers y'all keep quoting are in the dark and when the NFL concludes their investigation and dot their i's and cross their t's they will publish the findings.

I'm open to both possibilities. What about you?
