cyclone24 1,940 Posted July 25, 2015 10248.....and that included me accidentally hitting the Make Guess button before picking a site. The one on my phone has a timer, which seems better....can't just tap down the road and find a sign.

Mookz 1,388 Posted July 27, 2015 posty, this is an awesome game if you enjoy sussing schidtt out. I was playing it all weekend. The rules I set for myself are basically no google - you can only use what's provided on the screen. And if you're willing to drive around enough, you can usually NAIL the location within a few yards and get full credit. It would be so much easier if google maps didn't fuzz out license plates. Also the "zoom in" option seems to be disabled, which would help with a lot of signage, which is often just frustratingly too small to read. Here was one of my favorites: I was plopped somewhere in rural bumfock USA. Crops, American flags, farm houses. I was sure it was somewhere in the south, like Georgia or South Carolina. Got some street names and two town names - Montgomery and Reading Township. But I still had no idea what state (it was obviously not Montgomery, Alabama). Early on, I saw a mailbox that had a white "S" on it, but didn't think much of it - I thought it might be the initial of the homeowner. After a lot of driving around, I saw the same "S" on another mailbox. And they kind of looked like the "S" in patweisers' avatar. I thought there was no way this could be Michigan, but I drilled into the map and paged around, and there it was, Montgomery...and nearby, Reading! I never would have guessed it was a northern state. From there I found the roads and traced back to my starting point. Question for you - do you think the sites are totally random, or do the gamemasters pick spots that have just enough clues to lead you to a precise guess? I have to think that they scout them out at least a little, because they do place limits on the roads you can explore, and how far you can go.

Chronic Husker 86 Posted July 27, 2015 Coworker and I had an idea for a very similar game a couple years ago. 3943 I mistook South Africa for rural New Mexico.
