Now that the transcripts have been released for deflategate.....

Recommended Posts

Just so we are clear what happened today.

The judges ruling is not about guilt or innocence. It is about the fact that Roger Goodell and the NFL over-stepped their bounds in regards to the severity of the punishment.

Roger has got to stop trying to make examples out of people and just making shit up as he goes. BUT we all know Tom was deflating footballs. But in reality it's not that big of a deal (as some have made it out to be) and the proper thing was for the NFL to give them a much lesser punishment.

This whole "If you do not cooperate with me I will drop the hammer" stuff has got to stop.

Rolling my eyes at the bullsh1t. HTH

Other than some still thinking he didn't do anything...his post was spot on as to why the suspension was overturned.

It was procedural...not guilt or innocence.

LOL Leave it to the dumbest fock on the board to think this was a trial to determine guilt or innocence.

Nice! Two of the biggest alpha males this bored has and you refer to him as "the dumbest fock on the bored". He'd run circles around you mentally and you throw that out? Reason 5224 to love the Geeks.

We definitely don't "know that brady is guilty". That's bullcrap.

Which ties into the ruling. No the ruling isn't that Brady's innocent. But the ruling is we sure as hell can't say he's guilty because the NFL didn't give him the ability to exonerate himself. Read the ruling yourself if you want to know what you're talking about

Ummmm....no! The NFL failed miserably to present the facts they laid upon a judge to arbitrate a case that they should have won easily considering the fact that the CBO that they wrote is in place.

The judge determined, and this is the Fawking key, that the NFL and Goodell, in no way presented him a reason to uphold. Not once does the judge find guilt or innocence in the case. He does however side with Brady and the union and points out that Goodell is an incompetent fawk head that presented a poor case in his court and needs to reexamine his standards by which he fines, punishes, and handles future suits.

He told Goodell and the Owners, point blank, get your house in order before you come in here thinking you can push everyone around without a set state of affairs. The CBO isn't the end all, b!tch.

And another thing: The Commish and the Players Union are nowhere near friendly and amicable as they were prior to Goodell. They worked their differences out at some point. There are a few examples if them not. But for the most part, they kept the dirty laundry out of the media. Goodell makes it his business to do otherwise.

His team of lawyers suck. He sucks. His PR team sucks. His relationships with owners sucks. The players hate him. Now more than ever. 1.25 million per owner a year is a bargain now?

Eat a bag of ghonorhea tainted kunts from formerly suspended players with head injuries north and south of the torso you piece of shAt Jack off on ESPN fawker!

Well...most know he is likely guilty...some still hold on hope that he is innocent.

I read quite a bit of it...the main points were about procedure...not telling him he could be suspended, not letting Pash testify...and so on.

What makes you think his relationships with owners sucks?

By many accounts the owners wanted him to push for harsh penalties for the Pats.

And why did that matter? And why did it matter that Brady didn't have access to investigative materials?

Yes it is procedural, but the reason the procedure is important is that without it we can't have faith in the substantive determination.

Sure..it mattered...as I and others have said many times. The NFL messed this up from the beginning.

But its clear, by his actions, that Brady knew something...that it is very likely he knew what they were doing and they would not had been doing it without him knowing or approving of it.

Yes...based on his actions and those of his agent/lawyer as well.

Not the actions of an innocent man.

His relationship with the owners is now tainted as fawk. He's an extreme embarrassment. Would you like to make a bet that he will not be the commish this time next year?

You are on record saying he has made billions for the owners and there isnowattheycan his sorry ass.

SIG bet? Or money bet? You have been wrong since day one. I'll go back and pull my thoughts from the original pages if you'd like me to? If I recall, you said that there was nog asking way Brady would win. No?

Tell you what....I'll trade you four Saints tics for four Packers tics if you can back up one of your single claims throughout this entire debacle if a thread that we can all agree upon.

Man up brother.

He may not be next year...they may decode the PR from this is too bad and want a new puppet.

Justvtelling you that reports are than a group of owners were pushing for him to go hard on New England.

What claim have I made that isn't backed up?

I'll dig up the reports I read on owners later....you seem to be just rambling as usual.

I just read the last few pages of this thread and came away with this:

Is there a bigger bigoted, uninformed, opinionated Moron anywhere than Newbie?

This is the type of poster that should be banned.

Now that all your friends and supporters know how you feel, I am sure the ground swell of support you receive will wash over the bored like a wave of Pharaoh's chariots.

You remember those baskets with wheels that horses pull around real fast? That's a chariot.

Also, you should check; you may have shiot yourself.

2. NE's footballs were over-inflated in the Jets game. Brady was not happy about it. He let the equipment guys know he likes them at the lower end, 12.5

3. The equipment guys were pissed at Brady. But fine, we still want a tip and free equipment (as is the case for all locker room guys) we'll deflate them for you. They were probably letting air our of the football whenever they had the chance. Even if it was after the ref checked the balls. They probably didn't think it was a big deal.

You really think this just started because of the Jets game? The May 2014 texts ("C'mon help the deflator", "Chill out buddy...I'm not going to ESPN...yet") mean nothing?

The May 2014 texts mean one of two things:

1. The ball boys were deflating the footballs prior to 2014

2. The plan to deflate balls was hatched during spring 2014 OTA's

Neither of these would happen without Brady's knowledge.

AND.....they knew they were violating the rules, from the "going to ESPN" comment, but we are supposed to believe that Brady was oblivious to all of this and these guys just did it for what? Fun?

Honestly I don't know and frankly don't care. The fact that people are trying to claim that a slightly under inflated football (and more likely than not they weren't under inflated just inflated towards the lower end of the spectrum) gave the Patriots so much of an advantage that it catapulted them to win their games is ludicrous. It would be the same as having a few extra spikes on a cleat which makes the guy "run faster". It is the biggest butt hurt I've ever seen. You know dam well that other teams have done some shady sh1t and have gotten caught. "But they denied it and lied about it" who the hell cares? If this was the Falcons or the Dolphins I honestly couldn't give a rats a$$. Since it's the patriots it's the biggest dam controversy. Either you love or you hate the patriots. There is no in between for people. And it seems some people get off on hating them. So I say let them hate and b1tch and moan all they want. Doesn't change any Super Bowls they won or any future ones they will win. And I'll enjoy every single one in the future while people are still crying about them

Noted, and I generally agree...however, I'm personally embarrassed by all my fellow Pats fans that think just because the ruling went his way, that Brady is innocent. He's not. He beat the rap, that's all.

He didn't beat the rap. Everyone thinks he cheated. Goddell over-punished, so he looked foolish. Brady beat any punishment, not the rap

Yeah, but they closed the deal and won the Super Bowl. To me, 16-0 is an embarrassment if you lose the Super Bowl to a wild card team. I don't think I'd ever mention it.

Honestly that year I knew they were going to lose. I thought going in to the super bowl "no way they hold a perfect record through an entire season". Did I hope they won and had a perfect season record? Absolutely. But I just knew that things wouldn't go that smoothly. Either way it's still an accomplishment and was a good super bowl

playoffs don't count as wins on the season total

just because the dolphins decided to say they went 17 and 0, doesn't mean it's real. HTH

Oh look at that, just checked the standings for that year. Dolphins 14 - 0

What I've learned today: It's better to go undefeated in 16 regular season games and not win the championship than to only win 14 regular season games and win the championship.

More Boston logic

I learned a long time ago to never get advice on how to treat championships from an Eagles fan. Sort of like getting musical recommendations from the deaf.

Well this Eagle's fan is smart enough to know that 17-0 with a championship is a helluva lot better than 18-1 and losing to a Wild Card team.
