Law 241 Posted January 4, 2016 KC is much better than they are give credit. Each of the AFC teams has real questions. NE is very limited with respect to WRs and their Oline. Denver has questions on their Oline and QB. Cincy is questionable at QB and is, well, Cincy. Pitt might not have DWill and their secondary is not good. Houston is not good. KC. Only KC is, almost, question free. In the NFC, Caro, Arizona, and Seattle are the class of that side, and the NFL. GB has no Online. Minny is limited in their pass game. The Redskins are limited in their run game.
petekrum 20 Posted January 4, 2016 KC. Only KC is, almost, question free. Alex Smith is their question. You aren't gonna win four straight playoff games against good teams that can score with a guy who plays not to lose.
Law 241 Posted January 4, 2016 That's an easy answer that is contrary to their 10-game win streak that includes wins of Pitt and Denver. Furthermore, the have a great defense, a strong running game, and Smith has thrown all of 5 INTs on the year. It's the definitive recipe for winning in the playoffs. Magnificent Bastard 190 Posted January 4, 2016 I think at some point on a three game journey to the Super Bowl that the Steelers D catches up with them. Still wouldn't want to play them.

I would probably give the Bengals less of a chance of winning with Dalton. The guy is historically bad when playing in front of a national audience. Either way, they're lucky if they win a game, let alone the Superbowl. If I had to rank them I would say.... 1) Seahawks (just demolished a very good AZ team), 2) Patriots 3) Panthers 4) Cardinals 5) Broncos 6) Steelers 7) Vikings 8) Chiefs 9) Texans 10) Packers 11) Bengals 12) Redskins. jgcrawfish 232 Posted January 4, 2016 My take is like this: Brady, Roethlisberger, Manning, Smith, McCarron, Hoyer...in that order Newton, Wilson, Palmer, Rodgers, Cousins, Bridgewater...in that order I still think the best QBs will take their team the farthest. There are two wildcards...if the Bengals win they may get Dalton back who is an upgrade to McCarron. And Cousins has been incredibly hot since the "YOU LIKE THAT?!" game. I'l take Steelers over Pats in the AFC and Panthers over Seahawks in NFC...Steelers bring home #7

Law 241 Posted January 4, 2016 I think this thread is a lot about people saying what they want to happen, not what they'd actually bet will happen. Most are talking as fans or as non-fans of given teams or players. It's a difficult thing to be objective, without passion. I'd bet against Alex Smith all day long, just let me know where to send the money. I AM impressed with his scrambling, both moving the pocket and breaking down defenses for third down runs. But you're going to find much tougher treading in the playoffs, not that matador unit the Raiders trotted out there. And by the way a Smith pick six kept that throttling MUCH closer than that game should have been. Good luck, big fan of that defense and I see Oakland possibly making a run a one or two of your DBs. It appears something passionately thinks I'm a Chiefs fan. I can see that because I did lay out logical reasons why they could succeed in the playoffs while others just laid "arguments" as to why what they hope and pray happens will. If you'll notice, I spoke to each team. Most have weaknesses, or at least questions. What I'm not sure is are your questions actually answers? You imply that the Chiefs will struggle as the competition gets more tough, but you also acknowledge they were "throttling" the Raiders. But then, the Raiders defense is very good. Is that insulting the Raiders or the Chiefs? Not sure. Also, you're a fan of the Chiefs defense? And Oakland will make a run at one or two of the "your" DBs? I assume you mean the Chiefs DBs? Are you a fan of the Raiders? As I said, I'm unclear.

cmh6476 1,010 Posted January 5, 2016 Hehhehee the KC defense is nowhere near what that Baltimore defensive unit was. Well no they are not, we're talking about a historic defense that gave up a ridiculously low amount of points. But KC has also been playing without Houston and Hali lately, and getting those two back and being at full strength means this is one of the better if not the best defense playing in the postseason this year.

giraldi02 474 Posted January 5, 2016 The Broncos are the only team in the playoffs that has a negative turnover differential on the season and they finished 21st in the NFL in time of possession. The Patriots' offensive line has a lot of questions and they've lost four of their last six. Three of those four losses were to teams that did not make the playoffs. The underlying question for the Patriots is: Can Edelman come back healthy for the divisional round? If so, I think that offensive can adjust with quick releases to help negate the pressure Brady has been seeing lately. It would also open up more for Gronk.I think both bye week teams in the AFC have a chance to lose depending on the matchups. If the Steelers win, they face the Patriots. Could be interesting there. I think the matchup that Denver definitely wants to avoid however is the Chiefs. Broncos fans should be rooting for the Bengals to win so Cincy has to travel to Denver again. As for the NFC...I don't see a snowball's chance in hell of the Packers beating the Skins in Washington. I think the Minnesota game is going to be a lot closer than people think however. Ultimately, I see the Skins and Seahawks moving on. A lot will be made on the Seahawks' momentum heading into Carolina in the 2nd round...but Carolina is here for a reason. I see chalk in the NFCCG w/ Carolina and Arizona. In the AFCCG...I'll go with the Patriots facing the Chiefs. Arizona vs. New England. Could be a super bowl for the ages. I'd root for the Cardinals, but I'd believe the Patriots would win
DaBeerz 88 Posted January 5, 2016 I would like to see the Redskins win the Super Bowl . Nobody wants to see this, not even redskins fans! This would validate Dan Snyder, and nobody wants that. Cousins got them where they are despite Snyder probably wanting them to still roll with RG3. Being a playoff bubble team is actually probably the worst thing for that team in a long run perspective. They're good enough to win a garbage time division and get in, but not good enough to do much if any damage in the playoffs. then they get a high draft pick in the first round, meanwhile Philly, Dallas, and NYG all improve and Washington goes right back to the bottom of that division where they belong. This year was a fluke nothing more.

No you're wrong, you clearly don't understand Dan Snyder is the devil and seeing him happy after his team won the superbowl, despite his meddling and inept ownership is simply not acceptable for the rest of humanity living on this planet. Buuuut...it's never gonna happen so we need not worry about it. Once they get bounced this weekend (or next) Snyder can go back to his usual craziness of paying huge contracts to busts in free agency.

DaBeerz 88 Posted January 5, 2016 Lol ok . I just hate your owner so much. I'm still bent that Shanny ruined RG3's career, and I know Snyder was pressuring Shanny to play him even though he was hurt. Still pisses me off today. That guy was electrifying in his rookie year...to think what could have been if they hadn't broken his knees. I also am obligated to hate the Redskins due to the ass whipping the gave Buffalo in the superbowl...but mostly I just hate Snyder.

I could be wrong. After watching multiple GB games this year, I think they have no shot. Oline does a piss poor job of protecting Rodgers, he's constantly under pressure and can't make his reads downfield. He has to throw on the run or from awkward positions all day long. They can't run the ball to take pressure off Rodgers. Defense can't stop the run, not a good recipe for playoff success. Seems like GB are always playing from behind in every game. 2013-2014 GB were nasty because of that Rodgers to Nelson connection was so potent. Now they're struggling to score 20+ a game makes it difficult and shows how bad their defense is too.
