KSB2424 3,148 Posted March 2, 2016 Except it keeps winning. Maybe not the Presidency, but everything else. And it has a real shot at the Presidency, now. True, but the little secret is that he is winning with 30% - 33% of the overall vote. It doesn't take a mathematician to figure out that means the overwhelming majority is voting for other people besides Donald Trump. Now that may change, it may grow, but speaking right now today......he does not have the majority of the party behind him.

Sho Nuff 720 Posted March 2, 2016 Will give Trump this - for the 1st time this entire campaign season, he actually sounded a bit Presidential and not so much crazed lunatic. And the interesting thing...what had people flocking to him was the "non-PC" crap, his stance on immigration...now that he softens those, they still don't care. That kool-aid is strong. KSB2424 3,148 Posted March 2, 2016 I am not a mathematician so I don't even understand where your 30-33% is coming from. Example, when he won Virginia he won by getting around 33% of the vote. Rubio go like 29% Kasich 12% Cruz 14% (not official numbers). My point is that even though Tump is winning that state the Majority (2/3rds) of voters are voting for somebody else. Normally by now, you see folks getting 40-50-60 percent of the votes in these primaries as the party sort of comes to a consensus. Maybe that happens on down the road, but it has not happened yet. KSB2424 3,148 Posted March 2, 2016 The others would be fools to get out now, which is what Trump needs. They're splitting the delegates three ways in every state. Its the main reason they are staying in it longer. Trump is winning but he's winning with a 'minority' of the Party voting for him. That means there is still a glimmer of hope for them. Albeit shrinking, its still there. The party is not close to coming together on a nominee. Yet. Trump has won more states but until he starts getting closer to 50% of the votes in each state the others think they they have a Hail Mary left to throw.

KSB2424 3,148 Posted March 2, 2016 I know I'm a fanboy. But if Rubio and Carson dropped out I really think the GOP adults would gravitate to Kasich. And with the primaries going to Ohio, Michigan, Illinois here soon he could catch up very quickly. When you add Rubio's and Kasich votes together they equal or beat that of Donald in a lot of cases. I'd love a back room deal like apparently Trump gave Christie. Drop out, back me and I'll consider you for VP. And Marco, in 8 years you get your shot as the incumbent VP and still being under 50. But that is a pipe dream. Even though it makes all the sense in the world

IGotWorms 4,058 Posted March 2, 2016 Another insult from the wordsmith. This primary season is delicious. Trump is making heads explode. What's this have to do with Trump? You guys have this fantasy that everyone is on tilt over him. Yeah the republican establishment is, otherwise ... meh. I don't like him but I also don't like Hilary. And with Trump at least you get the pleasure of watching the establishment squirm. Now ultimately it's quite unlikely I'd vote for him but for now I've got no problem with him. Mostly I'm just amazed at how virtually every one of your posts reveals your massive idiocy

And Marco, in 8 years you get your shot as the incumbent VP and still being under 50. Ross Douthat of the NYT suggested something very similar on the Twitter this morning: It's simple. Kasich endorses Rubio in FL. Rubio endorses Kasich in OH. If either one loses, he becomes other's VP. If both, both drop out.

No one "blamed" Trump for other candidates not dropping out. I said the others would be foolish to drop out now because they are splitting delegates three ways. Trump needs them to drop out ASAP in order to get all the delegates. And, it doesn't matter how many people are voting, Trump's failure to get bigger percentages of them is what is slowing him down. More people are not voting for Trump than are voting for him. HTH ETA: I'm in Virginia, and Trump got 356,109 The other R's got 669,
Kopy 570 Posted March 2, 2016 when it's down to Hillary and Donald, who you got ?I've been asking myself that same question for the last couple of weeks. For the first time in my life, I'd probably sit it out and watch, and just have a beer and watch the results unfold. I would never, EVER vote for a complete socialist like Sanders. It's the complete opposite of the american way. We've seen what 8 years of Obama has brought, this could be even worse. Socialism is anti american as far as I'm concerned. The other option is HRC? F, no. I'll go with 8 more years of Bill, before I try 4 years of Hillary. Then the other option is Trump? Althought I did like his speech last night. It was the first time I thought he sounded non chaotic, and actually decent, I just can't give him my vote. Screw it, just have a beer and see what happens.
