Kent 228 Posted October 12, 2016 I saw the hit that concussed him live on Sunday and they never took him out. The team doctors are a joke. The system for detecting and protecting players that have concussions is a joke. He got blasted. Looked off, then a timeout was called for another player injury and I was sure it was going to be Reed but it was a lineman. They left Reed in. Crazy. I love how my amateur eyes can detect a concussed player on tv but the coaches turn a blind eye. It's disgraceful.

mgs316 14 Posted October 12, 2016 Just read it is his 5th possible concussion. Come on Jordan, just make it through one more season.

If the NFL becomes a secondary sport in the next 10-20 years (something I can see happening due to its constant mishandling of such things on and off the field), people will be able to point back to instances like this. I'm not just talking about mishandling concussions, but the sheer indifference the league shows so often with just about everything. The league seems to be so DAMN worried about fitting its product into a three-hour window that it is more scared of hearing about how slow its games are moving than the long-term health of its employees. College football games last four hours these days and still have legions of fans. If there is any question at all about a concussion, pull the player and apologize later. Apologies are much better than hearing about the Dave Duersons and Junior Seaus of the world 10-20 years after their careers are over. Then again, I think we all know it always comes back to money. God forbid some billionaires actually do the right thing by their employees for once.

TennisMenace 156 Posted October 12, 2016 I feel bad for him and also for me. The best option is Antonio Gates and he plays Thursday. So, do I assume Reed won't play Sunday and pick him up now?
BobSanders_33 127 Posted October 12, 2016 Yep not good as a Reed owner. Hopefully this is nothing but if it is something this is the big red flag that made him a dangerous pick.

Law 241 Posted October 12, 2016 I saw him as the clear #2 behind Gronk, even ahead of Olsen, especially in PPR, but I knew the risk and protected myself a bit. I got Gates (after he was dropped) in one league and Fleener in another after he was dropped. Not ideal though. I was hoping for a lot more than what I got. He's too valuable to drop, but this could really linger too.

He's too valuable to drop, but this could really linger too. In other circumstances, you could have legitimately put him with or even ahead of Gronk. The issue was that he was one bump to the head away from being a vegetable.

Not to turn this into a political debate, but it's pretty evident that workers rights are headed in the wrong direction. As more and more jobs are replaced, that leaves more and more people willing to do what is necessary to feed their families. People say there are laws protecting workers rights when I see those laws changing. Too much power by either side is not good, and right now the owners have the players by the balls. I just hope they wake up before the trend is too late to reverse in the football world. We already see it with ratings dips. A large part of sloppy football can be blamed on the players also as their large win in the last Cba was less practice and softer practice. Both of those make players worse at their profession. Coupled with parents less likely to get their kids into football, the talent pool has to dry up at some point. Less prepared and less skilled does not help a market that seems like it may have peaked with a decline in rapid fashion.
weepaws 3,206 Posted October 12, 2016 Wow this isn't good news for him. And saw someone post that this is his 5th one. Mr Reed protect yourself and think about moving on. Praying for him and those close to him for Wisdom and a safe recovery.

This would be his 4th concussion in the NFL and his sixth since college. http://sportsinjurypredictor.com/injury-predictor/player/26708

redsrback 30 Posted October 13, 2016 Sports in general is declining. You dont whiz off over half your fanbase by kneeling during the national anthem and expect nobody to get turned off.
