Djgb13 2,339 Posted December 22, 2016 I decided to delete that post and not give you a hard time; must be the Christmas spirit? Anyway, I deleted it as soon as I hit Post. It only existed for like 5 seconds. How did you quote it? lol must have opened the thread at the right moment. It's cool man. I'm just happy with this truck. penultimatestraw 473 Posted December 22, 2016 Are there any natural alternatives to Paxil and Xanax that work? I do well with half a Xanax, but I'm running out of them (and I'd like to not take them, if possible). I've been taking St. John's wort for a couple months and it may be doing something (nothing major), but I think it's causing me to put on weight. If there is something natural that works, does that mean it's just as bad as a prescription drug, side-effect wise? St Johns Wort is the best known "natural" antidepressant. But there isn't any inherent safety with being a natural (versus artificial or lab-derived) medicine. On the contrary, most herbal remedies aren't extensively tested for safety or efficacy, and purity standards aren't particularly rigorous. It's a bit ridiculous to trust something is safe just because it grows in the wild, especially when you consider the most potent toxins known to man are natural (ricin, botulin toxin, venoms, etc.). Any medication has potential for side effects, and there are naturopathic businesses whose practices who rival oft-demonized "big pharma". For my money, I'd rather use medications which are adequately tested and regulated. But to answer your question, I don't know of any good natural antidepressants, other than lifestyle choices like a healthy diet and regular exercise.
MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted December 22, 2016 At the job yea I don't make much. However I've got other means of income. Which was why I could take a smaller paying job so I didn't have to travel an hour to make decent cash. But I got a good deal on the truck. Fell in love with it when I drove it. Ride is smooth as hell. That probably cost 10k more than my wife's vehicle and mine together.
SUXBNME 1,512 Posted December 22, 2016 Timely thread. We're looking for a gently used mid-sized SUV to replace my wife's 2001 Suburban (so, a little smaller but still 3 rows). Went and looked at a few, Didn't like the Honda Pilot interior, at least the ones we saw. Liked the Highlander with the Limited or XLE (?) higher packages. GMC Acadia looked worth considering. Acura MDX was nice and, while more expensive, not as much more as I expected. Probably still more than we want to spend. Thoughts or experiences? One that intrigued us that we hadn't planned to look at was a Buick Enclave. Sux or anyone else -- opinions? Nice interior and overall look. They had a 2014 with 29K miles for $28K, loaded. I think we'd be looking at $7-10K more for a comparable Highlander. Wife had last one 15 years (bought it new). I've never really considered a Buick but the dealer sorta positioned it behind Cadillac in the GM luxury hierarchy. TIA$#@! Without knowing which year, I pulled up a 2014 Enclave for TBS's Number Date ▴ Title 00-06-01-026H 07/12/2016 Intake Manifold Inspection or Replacement After Engine Damage 00-03-10-006M 06/29/2016 Information on Tire Radial Force Variation (RFV) 07-00-89-021Q 06/22/2016 Supplemental Information On Trailer Towing and RV Towing 07-03-10-008E 06/22/2016 Slight or Mild Tire Feathering and Recommended Practices 16-NA-101 06/22/2016 Clunk Noise In Rear Suspension In Cold Weather 15-08-44-001H 06/20/2016 ONSTAR - Communication Upgrade (Canada) 10-08-110-001E 06/10/2016 Interior - Information On Proper Use of Floor Mats 09-06-04-026M 05/31/2016 Engine - Identifying Non GM Engine Calibrations (US and Canada) 03-03-10-007J 05/20/2016 Wheels and Tires - Information on Tire/Wheel Characteristics 12-08-132-001D 05/13/2016 Electrical - Accessory Power Outlet and Trailer Lighting 15-08-42-001A 05/08/2016 Lighting - Exterior Lighting Components Tinted or Smoked 02-07-30-029Z 04/27/2016 Vehicle - PQC Assembly Replacement 10-08-46-001C 04/20/2016 Audio - Radio Does Not Mute For OnStar Turn by Turn Directions 15-06-03-001B 04/20/2016 Starting and Charging - Battery Maintenance 03-06-03-004Q 04/18/2016 Starting and Charging - Battery Testing, and Replacement 07-06-01-016C 04/18/2016 Engine - Internal Engine Noise Or Damage After Oil Filter Repl. 16-NA-117 04/12/2016 Drivetrain - Information Regarding Magnetic Drain Plugs 03-07-29-004K 04/07/2016 M/T - Manual Transmission Operating Characteristics 16-NA-109 04/05/2016 Steering - Grease or Sealant Visable on Steering Gear 00-03-10-002J 03/30/2016 Wheels - Chemical Stains On Chromed Aluminum Wheels 15-06-03-002B 03/10/2016 Starting - Original Equipment Battery Part Numbers 08-07-30-026C 03/07/2016 A/T - Slight Movement In Park At Start Up 16-NA-069 03/03/2016 Collision Avoidance - Blind Spot Detection Stops Working 06-00-89-029M 03/02/2016 Interior - Cleaning Of Interior Components 09-00-89-002M 03/02/2016 Vehicle - Properly Maintaining Vehicles In Dealer Inventory 12-03-10-001C 02/23/2016 Tires - Vibration Shortly After Tires are Mounted 16-NA-055 02/22/2016 Restraints - Information for Components Around The SIR System 16-NA-046 02/17/2016 A/C - Poor Performance, Blows Warm Air 02-08-42-001I 02/12/2016 Body - Damages Not Covered By Warranty Information 04-06-01-029H 02/11/2016 Vehicle - Unscheduled Maintenance Including Flushes/Additives 08-08-44-015F 02/09/2016 Infotainment - Damaged Radios and Instrument Panel Warranty Info 01-08-42-001K 02/08/2016 Lighting - Exterior Lamp Condensation Replacement Guidelines 15804A 02/08/2016 Campaign - Air Bag Lamp ON 02-08-98-002F 02/05/2016 Body - Hem Flange Rust Repair 16-NA-031 02/05/2016 Audio/Instruments - Audio Chime Speakers Inoperative 06-08-50-009I 01/28/2016 Restraints - Concerns About Safety and Seat Alterations 13-02-32-001D 01/19/2016 Steering - Noise or Fluid Leak From Power Steering In Cold Temp 16-NA-011 01/19/2016 Infotainment - System Will Not Return To Media After Call 06-00-89-031D 12/15/2015 Vehicle - Engine and Transmission Identification 15-NA-069 11/30/2015 Vehicle - Reuse of Fasteners and Proper Torque Info 08-08-44-029F 10/29/2015 Instruments Infotainment - Electronics Exchange Info. 01-06-01-011I 10/27/2015 Engine - Engine Oil Consumption 15789 10/26/2015 Recall - Windshield Wiper Motor Failure 15-NA-030 10/14/2015 Electrical - Non GM Approved Battery Chargers and Booster Packs 05-03-07-009H 10/02/2015 Steering/Suspension - Alignment Specifications and Requirements 00-00-89-027I 09/02/2015 Vehicle - Eliminating Unwanted Odors 09-09-40-001C 08/03/2015 Restraints - Seat Belt Latching Issues, Warning Lamp ON 99-01-39-004G 07/23/2015 A/C - Musty Odors at Start Up In Hot/Humid Temps. 01-08-51-003E 07/10/2015 Body/Frame - Application of Anti-Corrosion Materials 05-06-04-022M 07/10/2015 Fuel System - Top Tier Gasoline Information and Suppliers 07-06-04-019E 06/23/2015 Electrical - MIL ON, DTC P2138, Reduced Engine Power 05-06-04-035E 05/27/2015 Fuel System - E85 Fuel Usage Information/Recommendations 10-08-67-001C 05/22/2015 Body/Interior - Headliner/Rear Compartment Wet 15-00-89-004A 05/22/2015 Vehicle - Difference Between Leakage and Seepage 08-08-57-003F 05/14/2015 Body - Water Leaks Onto Floor, Various Electrical Issues 15-00-90-002 04/01/2015 Engine - Spin-On Oil Filter Information/Precautions 13-08-116-001B 03/26/2015 Electrical - Interference Related to Aftermarket ALDL/DLC Device 00-05-22-002O 03/24/2015 Brakes - Disc Brake System Repair/Lathe Calibration Information 12-06-01-003B 03/18/2015 Engine - Oil Leaks From Engine Front Cover 14007B 03/18/2015 Recall - ECM Update for Fuel Gauge Inaccuracy 13-00-89-008A 03/16/2015 Electrical - Wiring Repair Strategy Information 12-06-01-008B 03/09/2015 Vehicle - Engine And Sub Systems Flushing Info. I'm 6 4 so not NBA sized and I found it very cramped. Thanks for the feedback. I'm 5 11 with shorter legs and longer torso, so leg room is not usually an issue. Headroom can be though. I sat in it briefly and didn't notice any problem with room but I'll pay more attention if we are strongly considering it.

MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted December 23, 2016 Thanks again. We were surfing on some Explorers today; is the Flex bigger or smaller?I went through this a year and a half ago. I wish I would have held out for a four runner or highlander. Yes it is more money up front but they do not have near the maintanence costs of the other suv's. I only drive my wife's mdx when I tow, and it does have plenty of power to tow a 5k trailer no problem.
jerryskids 6,825 Posted December 31, 2016 I went through this a year and a half ago. I wish I would have held out for a four runner or highlander. Yes it is more money up front but they do not have near the maintanence costs of the other suv's. I only drive my wife's mdx when I tow, and it does have plenty of power to tow a 5k trailer no problem. Got an 2017 Explorer Limited yesterday. Did I mention my FIL retired from Ford? Anyway we got the A/Z Price, and with $2K end of year rebates got it loaded for about $40K with no haggling. We looked at used Highlanders but the inventory was slim and we wouldn't have gotten nearly the features in a used Toyota: 110 outlet, parallel and perpendicular parking, front and rear cameras, massaging chairs . I went with the 2.3T Ecoboost; plenty of pep and better gas mileage than the 3.5. At the end of the day it came down to my FIL really liking when he can help with this plan, and if I had said "hey pops, thanks for hooking me up with the Plan, look at my new used Highlander$#@!" I wouldn't have felt right.
