wiffleball 4,647 Posted May 3, 2017 Amerisleep looks pretty well reviewed. Anybody use Memoryfoam? The only thing I've seen negative (everything else is very positive) is that it tends to retain odor worse than other types of mattresses. I've seen / heard a few ads for other brands but can't think of them now. They look pretty convenient if nothing else, but wondering if they're any good? (compared to innerspring, etc.)

Djgb13 2,338 Posted May 3, 2017 I've got a memory foam mattress. Best mattress I've ever had. A bit pricey but well worth it IMO. The amerisleep is cheaper than the one I bought. One I bought was a queen and was like $2300 I believe. I was single back then so if I was married like I am now I would have went ahead and bought a king
wiffleball 4,647 Posted May 3, 2017 Read an online review and it sounds like Leesa and Casper are pretty similar, but that Leesa wins.
frank 2,147 Posted May 3, 2017 I got a king size bed. I don't know any kings, but if one came over, I guess he would be comfortable.

Mookz 1,287 Posted May 12, 2017 We bought the Casper... to include the platfor and pillows. Love the thing. Have this thing waiting in its box in my apartment. Went with the full size mattress, pillows and sheets combo. Any last advice before I unbox, set up and lie on?

Nope.. We opted for the mattress protector.. but haven't felt hot in it at all. Good luck bro! Also it may have smelled a little like "new something smell" for a little, but not bad. I really like that the woman and I can both move around on the bed independently and it doesn't shake at all. Also no sound when your having smashems with the wife. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted May 13, 2017 I really like that the woman and I can both move around on the bed independently and it doesn't shake at all. Also no sound when your having smashems with the wife. My problem is that, regardless of mattress, the bed squeaks during smash time. Even with the memory foam beds. We have teenage boys who will know what is going on if they hear something remotely sexual. We give a kiss goodnight and they make throw up noises.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted May 13, 2017 BTW - I got some foam based bean bag chairs for the kids in a box. Very comfortable and living up to the hype

mmmmm...beer 691 Posted May 13, 2017 FWIW, after sleeping on the Casper for 4 nights, I can honestly say I feel better in the morning than I have in years. Sweet... mookz's still sleeping.. haha
Mookz 1,287 Posted May 14, 2017 Sweet... mookz's still sleeping.. haha Okay, two nights in now. Unboxing, it was really cool how it took this gigantic "breath" when I pierced its inner labia. It's like it was sent here from another galaxy in some sort of stasis and I had just revived it. Amazing, it puffed right up to a perfect "full" size mattress immediately. It has the strong new-mattress-smell that you mentioned. First night was definitely a culture shock. The mattress I was coming from had formed a big gulch in the center, and I would lie there at the bottom of the pit every night. So this felt like I was lying on top of a mountain. (Although that would have been the case with any new mattress.) It definitely feels firm and supportive. I like it. I'm going through some rough insomnia, and that still happened Friday night, but I'm hoping the Casper will help in the coming weeks. Also my lower back is still tight as all heck (from prior to the Casper), I'm hoping that improves as well. Question for you beer (and maybe 5-Points) - the pillow is nice, but I've always stacked two pillows to get the height that felt right. My head sinks right into the Casper pillow and is much lower than I'm used to. Should I stack the two Casper pillows (this is what I've done so far), or should I gut it out and get used to one Casper pillow, because that will be better for me in the long run? In other words, does Casper know best, or is what feels comfortable all that matters?
5-Points 2,734 Posted May 15, 2017 Stack them if it's more comfortable Mookz. I like a firm pillow. The Casper pillow is a bit soft imo but if you punch the sides in a little, it firms up pretty good and holds it. I'm a side/stomach sleeper though. If I was a back sleeper I would use two. mmmmm...beer 691 Posted May 15, 2017 I like the one.. to me they feel like med filled feather pillows without the heat retention. Two pillows feels like my neck is bent and trying to choke myself! I'd say do what feels comfortable. Casper took me a few weeks to dig.
Mookz 1,287 Posted May 15, 2017 Will stack, and will use this thread as my daily Casper blog. Nah, but will report back later. Fock Big Mattress!

Cloaca du jour 2,064 Posted July 9, 2017 We went with a hybrid matress. But an adjustable frame. Thats the ticket. Fockin awesome!!!
Mookz 1,287 Posted July 13, 2017 What do you think? I hate to say it, but I'm thinking of having them come get it. It's not the mattress's fault, but I still have the most restless, frustrating insomnia every night, and I still wake up every morning with a stiff back. I know it has more to do with my bleak outlook and devastation with having to face another day than anything else, but I can do all that on my old mattress just as easily, and put the $1k into the hot new cryptocoin instead. I'll probably keep it though, I doubt I'll even have the motivation to arrange a return before my hundred nights are up.
