Crazy to trade Melvin Gordon high

Recommended Posts

Debating on trading him as his ROS is tough and he's been getting dinged up a bit. Was gonna offer him for Ingram straight up as I love ingram ROS

its not that crazy both are top 10 RB1's ROS

I prefer Gordon cause there is no Kamara behind him, and the Chargers, really really really want to try to run the ball

A guy in my league who has won 2 titles in 3 years and has a winning record just Traded Gordon straight up for Tarik Cohen and Chris Hogan. PPR

Would not fault anyone for selling high on Gordon. I also love the Ingram ROS. I'm sure every owner that traded Gordon down the home stretch last year was happy to do.

Hes one of those lucky clowns whos draft picks always pan out and hes never had to make any real roster moves or decisions. The first one he does he botches. Its hard to explain to people how you can win at FF but still suck at it.

It's a redraft not a keeper

I dont mind the decision to trade him as much if it is a redraft league.

You probably could do better than Ingram, but if he has a better schedule than Gordon, there is a decent chance this could turn out to be a wash.

As you are an Ingram fan, maybe that's enough for you. Part of Fantasy football is cheering on your players, and if you love Ingram, it makes sense that you would want him on your team.

personally, I dont like to make trades for the sake of making trades, but there are scenarios where I would make this deal.

Probably the scenario that best justifies a deal like this would be if you already have players on the chargers (ie. Rivers or Keenan Allen) there may be value in diversification so that your teams fate isnt tied to that of the Chargers (who as a whole isnt a great team)

Either way, I cannot recommend the deal, but if Ingrams Schedule is substantially better than that of Gordon, (and I'm telling you I have not checked on this) I wont recommend against it either.

The one thing Ingram has going for him is that he plays on a stronger team and will get more garbage time carries than Gordon will. But that should already be taken into account with the YTD stats.

If you make the deal, good luck.

I prefer not to make trades while high but I think it's really personal preference.

LoL!

I love Gordon. But Ive been thinking the same things (trading). I wanted to trade him for Shady and something but Shady just had the 2td game so I was too late.

Ingram is another target but Id want Marky Mark and something else, so maybe Id come up blank there as well.

Honestly, I kinda want to see Melvin Gordon play one more time before I decide what to do. Hopefully he stays healthy and gives us a fair shot to keep or move him during his bye!

Why do you think Ingram is worth less than Gordon? I'd move Gordon for him in a heartbeat. My guess is the Ingram own wouldn't bite. Everyone knows Gordon is a weekly injury headache. Now his foot is bothering him? Hard pass.

Yes. Okay hindsight aside, before today....

First 4 games, 0-4

64rush/168yds/2tds

13recs/97yds/1td

Next 3 games, 3-0

63/226/1

16/151/2

1. nearly as many rushes in 1 less game, while winning

2, more recs in 1 less game, while winning

3. 1 more TD in 1 less game while winning, but actually note STILL getting TDs even when losing

Think Bolts coaching staff has realized have to get ball in Gordon's hands including running ball in general and they've been winning doing so, so likely will continue

He's getting TDs, losing or winning

I say keep him.

yet they are the Chargers, so yah

I mean Gordon has 100 yards after busting the 87 but he also had a back to back 9's, then they dont even give him the ball in the 2nd quarter

I still think hes one of the best RB's out of the flat, some games they absolutely destroy it using that play, then the last 2 weeks, they don't even try

We also cant get so far into the spreadsheets that we forget that Payton hates Ingram.

Ideally, the playcallers in Charger-land will touch their chins, think really hard, and come to the crazy conclusion that all of these Gordon-less packages arent really all that great for them.

Yeah, he gets the big run on like 4th carry and then he only gets 10 carries rest of game? Obvioulsy vested b/c of FF but even from NFL standpoint wouldn't it make sense to keep giving him the rock?

Exactly.

They just won't commit to the run.

And that's what is so ironic. Johnny Lynn had the most run-heavy offense in the NFL in Buffalo last year.

His hiring as the new Charger coach is one of the reason why I had Gordon ranked so high going into this season.
