DonS 3,292 Posted January 4, 2020 Wife and I just watched the first 90 min episode. Pretty interesting take on original source material. I believe it was developed in conjunction with BBC. Really good violence and effects. A little bit of dark humor here and there as well. Heads up: the initial old age makeup and heavy Transylvanian accent of Dracula is distracting but it doesn't last too long. Anyone else watching this? Aside from some dark humor from Dracula I wouldn't call it campy. Don't know if that's no longer the case as the series goes on, though. Yeah, I recognized the name Steve (?) Moffat from Sherlock. Within the first five minutes a nun is asking Harker, “Did you have sexual intercourse with Count Dracula?” Not the dark take I expected. Probably won’t watch the rest.
