what does the nfl do in the super bowl if one team has a breakout. sure they play regular season games, but can they honestly do that with the title game?  i dont like where this is going.  the champ may well get an asterisk

There will be 8 teams with 10+ wins in the AFC.  One must miss the playoffs.  The favorite to miss at the moment is the Browns, as they are down by 2 scores to the Jets.  The Browns had an emergency this week as basically their entire WR corps entered covid protocol and missed this game.  They now are seriously looking at continuing the NFL's longest playoff drought at 18 years.  They also missed the playoffs with 10 wins in 2007.

Basically, Lamar Jackson's miracle throw vs the Browns to win the game, Fitzpatrick's miracle throw to put the Dolphins over the Raiders, and covid wiping out the Browns WR corps vs the Jets all have transpired to pretty much eliminate the Browns from the playoffs.  That's some tough luck.  Try again next season.

The Browns lost to the Jets due to the Holy Roller rule.  Baker Mayfield fumbled and it rolled forward, with Kareem Hunt recovering.  Unfortunately, only the fumbling player can recover a fumble in the last 2 minutes of a game, so it was a loss of down and a turnover.

Jonathan Vilma doing cowboys/eagles. Terrible.  Are they trying to annoy the fans again? Why do they seem to do that at every turn?

Well it’s official. Jags clinched the 1st pick of the 2021 draft. Now the only question is do they take Lawrence or does another team trade up for him

Nah, they’ll stick with Minshew and lose every fan they have.

Id rather pick several picks higher each round than go one and done in the playoffs because I won the qorst division in football.  At least in normal years they get a good gate out of it.

Im all for playing to win the game type guy.  But picking mid pack each year doesnt get team anywhere.

That said they arent in some running for a top QB.  So it means much less.

It's a great rule that been in placed for years! I actually knew that rule for a long time, players use to fumble on purpose when they knew they couldn't get a first down or TD on 4th down. Great rule!

Chiefs won their 7th game in a row, all by less than 1 score.

To much money on them in those games. Why they was close.

If the Rams had Dalton they would be SB contenders.

Surprised by thr Packers defense.  If they can play loose and get after the QB that defense has upside.  Theyve put most all the resources into the defense over the last few years.  Outside of last draft.   Where they took a QB in round 1.

Feels like the Packers year. Their biggest hurdle is New Orleans but that game will be in Lambeau most likely. Saints may want to bench Brees for that one. If they meet the Chiefs in the SB they can can keep up with them.

Kamara was great last game but Saints will really miss Thomas down the stretch.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but I think the Cowboys are going to the playoffs.  After everything that went wrong, I think they are hosting the Bucs.  The Giants and FT are in disarray right now.  Dalton and that offense is hitting its stride and Dallas is playing its best football of the year.

And Haskins has been released

He can spend more quality time with low rent strippers now.  He'll be making it rain with $1 bills rather than Benjamins though.

The prize of a top 4 pick is not the pick itself. The real prize of a top 4 pick is the bargaining power it affords you to move down, accumulate extra picks.

What a difference a year makes. Last year the Bills beating the Pats would be deemed an upset. This year not only are they expected to win, but to put a beat down on them.  Amazing what a good QB and a big time WR can do for a team. And how not having them can wreck a team. The new NFL.

Easy to look better, find a stride blowing thru trash...Cinci was w/out Burrow and clearly playing for a draft spot, SF was w/out Jimmy G and others, and Philly had 3 def starters out, obviously ok settling for the draft position.

I would not be shocked to see us win the Division tho, NY and Washington suck as bad as us too.

Yes I get that, but the entire draft is about scouting / recognizing talent and doing the best with your lot.

They say that every fall, but almost every winter you see the teams with the big physical teams with tough defenses rise to the top.

I would never say the chiefs have a big physical defense. They were down double digits in every playoff game last year and the Super Bowl until Mahomes bailed them out.  The Patriots got lit up by the Falcons a few years ago and then the Patriots lit them up. You’re using outdated data to come to your conclusions. It’s a fast break league now.

Chiefs have won 1 ring.  1 data point does not make a trend.  Look at the last 10 years and overwhelming number of champs had very strong defenses.

They have been saying "its a new league and now its all about passing" for like 40 years.  Its still not true.

I will give the Chiefs credit for the fact that this is the 3rd year in a row where they will host the AFC title game (if they get there).  Mahomes has never played a road playoff game.  That's impressive.  The Chiefs' narrative is in the balance here.  If they don't win it this year, then people will say "they had 6 home playoff games and only 1 ring to show for it".  In a lot of minds, the Chiefs are a dynasty.  But I don't see it.
