Rumor has it that Brady called him a gay slur.

Yep.  Likely called him a faq.

OMG!

Pretty amazing what doesn't slip out these days.  I mean 100's of people know what was said.  :dunno:

Maybe there's only like 20-25 people who heard it and risk losing their job if they ever leak any information out that the league forbids.  But it's obvious that a vast majority of people believe Mathieu was implying a racist remark, to the point where Michael Irvin came out and told everyone that there wasn't.  He even said that Mathieu should clarify that and he's yet to do so... furthering giving credence to the belief that Mathieu was intimating a racist claim.  He just doesn't want to be seen as another Jussie.  Being black affords him the privilege that he doesn't have to apologize for his actions because no one will hold him accountable.

Are you frigging kidding me?

Complete Unconscious Bias Training by May 14

Uncounscious Biases are natural and make us human. Yet how they show up in everyday interactions often prevents us from being fully inclusive. Out 20 minute training explains blah blah blah.

you implied it..like all the other whiners in this thread.

Even if you belive that he was just referring to something like "b!tch" being said there has been rampant speculation for days about it being a racial slur, and he hasn't spoken up to say it wasn't.

He knew damn well what people would assume that meant.

Sure. This is the geek club. I'm closing in on 30k posts and pretty much all of them have been a waste of time.

I think that by not clarifying the kind of slur really shows the division in our country, it's the first slur we ALL think of. I wouldn't have thought of a gay slur, not sure if it's because it's not one that immediately comes to mind, or the fact that our country really doesn't care who you fock in your own time/home/where ever.

This is gaslighting.

Mathieu knew he needed to be vague  and even if at a subconscious level he KNEW where the American people would take this. Couple this with the fact that people keep saying that TB is a MAGA hat wearing Trumper, he's just adding fuel to the fire. Everyone knows that TB wasn't passing the baton to Mahomes like predicted, that TB is indeed the GOAT...but hey! He made a derogatory comment to me, guys! He's racist! Mathieu knew he didn't have much to stand on. Even tweeting out a short explanation that the slur wasn't racial, the larger crowd will probably "meh" at a faq comment...it's just not as apparent as racism right now.

AND....TB had the "End Racism" sticker on the back of his helmet. Come on, man.

Mathieu could clear this whole thing up in 10 seconds.  Just like Jussie could. Just like Bubba could.

Bubba Wallace didn’t even report the “noose.” How could he clear it up?

No, they haven’t considered it and they won’t consider it. They seem to know exactly what he meant.

If he isn't going to disclose what it was, then why say anything at all?

This is gaslighting and vague-tweeting. There is nothing left BUT speculation.

"So, this guy said something to me, I won't repeat it. But, it was really bad. Like really really bad. But I can't say what it was." Come on, man.  This is an AA man, tweeting publicly that a white man said something "really bad that he won't repeat." Really? And the problem is my speculation?

I watched the game. I saw the instance where TB said something. I literally looked at my hubs and said, "OH! I wonder what he said." That was it. I didn't think about it again until this thread when Mathieu claimed it was "really bad that he won't repeat."

I don't really care what he said. I hate the vague-tweeting and gaslighting. If you have something to say and want to get a point across, don't hide behind focking twitter and then just peenie the tweet.

I didn’t see a problem with his tweet. He gave a reason as to why he reacted the way he did to Brady. People wanted to know and he explained. He doesn’t have to repeat the word and Brady publicly apologized for what he said. Nothing more really needs to be done or said of the situation. Just a bunch of random people looking for something to be outraged about again.

I was wrong. He didn’t publicly apologize, he sent a text to him. That made the news though.

Actually, he does.  The reason why he does is because when someone says "I won't repeat...", they're clearly intimating a racial slur.  He deleted that tweet after he found out that Brady was mic'd.  Meaning, he tried to claim racism and when if failed, he deleted his tweet.  Basically, he's a punk b!tch.

why did Brady text the apology and say he plans to apologize in person later?

Because he's a bigger man then Mathieu.  There were other players right around them.  You think no one else heard the exchange?  If Brady said something racial, it would have come out.  Period.

Apology was probably something along the line of "sorry we kicked your ass."

I like all of the idiots who say don't speculate and don't stereotype.

You might as well say be willfully ignorant.  We're the only species that would willfully ignore experience.
