I like how they pretend to be a place for everyone.  It's really not.  It's target audience is gay people.  The only "straight" people that go there are going there to hang out with their friends who are gay.  I'm willing to bet that even most of the "straight" people that go there are bisexual anyway.  Let's also pretend that the intent was to go to a "Gay" bar because is was a "Gay" bar.  The proof would be the answer to this question: How many non-gay bars (restaurants), have they gone too?  What, Tom & Jenny's luncheonette didn't have a kitchen?  Did it have to be a bar?  It couldn't have been just a local eatery?  No, it had to be "Gay", hence why it was a "Gay bar".  The intent was specifically introduce the kids to a "Gay" environment, not a kitchen/restaurant environment.  THAT's the issue I have with it.

It was an example (not specific), of a non-bar non-gay (specific/themed), restaurant.  Like I said, the "bar" part isn't the issue really, it's the "gay" part.  We know that their intent is to specifically target a "gay" themed environment.

There are no other places within a half-mile?  Willing to bet there is.  Here are some specifics.  How come they didn't go to Stork's Bakery & Coffee House which was right down the street?  Or Dolce Salato Pizza and Gelato?  Or Bona Italian Restaurant & Pizza which was right across the street?  Why did it have to be a bar and gay themed?  There were plenty of other options.

It's fine that it's a fixture in the neighborhood... it's a fixture for adults though, not kids.  The other places are for everyone, including kids.  You know how we know?  Because places like "Applebee's, Chili's, TGI Friday's, Ruby Tuesday, Red Lobster,  the list goes on", don't have to make kid-specific menu's (like Rosie's did), when the kids show up.
