Stock Market bubble - will crash

Zero because I do dca. I also have a little on the side for big dips.

Just to be clear I was having a conversation about the market after a rate cut. The other jumped being an ahole about why a buy and hold guy would care. I explain why a someone would care and now you're jumping in about dcaing.

I post my winners and losers here. I don't pretend I win every trade like most people do here.

I buy Bitcoin every Wednesday. I auto contribute to my ira and Roth IRA every two weeks. I auto contribute and buy into my HSA every two weeks. So yes I do DCA

I'm currently building a high yield dividend portfolio for cash flow.

I also have another account I play trade with.

I like to read what other people are doing and thinking in this thread. But sometimes... Dang y'all make it hard

Good post. You said "why would I be buying now"   Turns out you are buying now.

Recently bought a bunch of United Health in my IRA around $275. Decent dividend for a stock with 100%+ upside.

nothing I own is really down since they dropped biden like a bad habit. A few are a little stagnant but it’s really hard to complain.

I put UNH in a watch list intending to buy it, but never followed through. You picked them up at a very nice price. Congrats

In my taxable account, the only stock that I own a significant amount of that's done poorly on the year is CROX

I've been adding shares under $80

In the option account, Wendy's has been a major drag. Sitting on 3000 shares @ an average cost of $11.99 & it continues to drift down.

No one likes losses, but it does show how selling calls can limit them. Had I just accumulated those 3000 shares & done nothing else, I'd be down $6990.00

Because of the call premiums, I'm 'only' down $4629.00

What are we getting today .25? Market goes up or down? I think down as everyone bought last week.

0.25, but what matters is what they forecast for future cuts.

The market already priced a 0.25 cut in so the only thing that moves the market from that perspective is if they deviate from that.  But that would be a huge shock.  Obviously market sores if they go 0.5.  tanks of they're say nevermind and hold steady.

What isn't fully baked in is future cuts.  They never actually say what they're going to do but they craft carefully worded statements to indicate how dovish or hawkish they are.  If they come out on the dovish side, market will go up.  Hawkish... Down.

The forecast is meaningless. Even if they promise more cuts coming up, the increased inflation caused by the tariffs will change their minds.

If they came out and said they foresee cutting rates again this year, the market would go apeshìt.  That was the question that was asked essentially... How will today's fed meeting effect the market in the short term... He just isn't familiar enough with investing to know what he's asking, so he tied it to the immediate rate cut which is already priced in.

What your addressing is what might happen in reality.  And I'll leave it up to you to predict what TACO is going to do with tariffs and I wish you luck on that.

the actual announcement doesn't matter. Unless he had announced larger or smaller than expected.  .25 was widely expected for the last... month?  The markets have been up over that time frame so this was already baked in. You will maybe see the market finish red today and possibly red for the week because this is closer to "buy the rumor sell the news" concept.

I recall you stating that you liked this thread because you liked to hear what other people were buying. I feel the same way & was hoping you'd share what you purchased recently.

I've been really focused on my high-yield investment account

In this account, I buy high-yield ETFs. Specifically, ETFs from YieldMax, Roundhill and Rex Shares. I started this account in July, and it's a good little money maker for me

The goal of this account is to produce a weekly income. The companies use different strategies like covered calls. I've always sucked at short-term trading so using these funds to do the options for me is nice

Monday I bought

ULTY - my favorite dividend income producer

YBTC - Bitcoin is volatile, so I like etf

COIW  - this has been a low performer, but I think Coinbase will start doing well soon

FBTC - Bitcoin was down and I think we are getting close to the next leg up

  • Thanks 1

Yes, the yield is very nice. They changed the way they ran the fund back in April, so it stabilized NAV erosion somewhat. That being said, I'm not in this fund for growth; I'm in it for yield. I fully expect the fund to do a reverse split at some point in the future.

In this account, I have 11 different ETFs. Some are Weekly and some are monthly payers.

The best part the funds dividends are marked as return on capital so they are tax efficient until you hit the cash cow stage of holding it.

So instead of taxing you at the time the dividend is paid, they adjust your cost basis so you don't pay until you sell ?

Do you reinvest the dividends to accumulate more shares, or take them in cash ?

Does anyone here regularly sell covered calls ?

If so, which brokerage firm do you use ?

I don't know what you consider regularly, but if I have a position in a stock that I am fairly neutral on, I like to sell covered calls against my position to get a little boost. Usually out of the money calls about a month out.  If the options expire, I just sell more options, or the strike price hits and the option is exercised automatically.  I use Charles Schwab.

Thanks for the reply.

I have a question, & unfortunately, it's complicated. Would you mind if I sent you a PM later this evening or tomorrow ?

Disregard.

I've been somewhat down on AI, but it only took 1 try for it to answer a question 2 different Fidelity representatives couldn't.

This doesn't bode well for employment in the financial sector :(

Alright. Time to take the profits. Been touching the stove now for awhile. Going to shave off 10%ish across the board.

Probably a prudent move. I'm considering selling NVDA in one of my IRAs. It's up to 22.5% of the total & it's closing in on a market cap of 5 trillion.

That's slightly higher than the GDP for Japan, 1 trillion more than England, & about the same as Germany.

The magnificent 7 may very well rule the world one day, if they don't already.

Silver spot broke 50 bucks today, as people realize that the US dollar is just toilet paper.

I haven’t looked at that in a long time. I have about 50oz of silver in my sock drawer. I bought a few oz. once in a while years ago. I think I paid about $22/oz on average. Some of it is maple leafs and silver eagles.

I just ran and checked my sock drawer, and all I found was socks (and some silver). :dunno:

Donnie Dumbfck opens his mouth threatening China, instead of just not saying anything and keeping his mouth shut, and US equity markets drop 2%? Fock this guy.

MAGA thinks this is good, or this is what they voted for? Good job getting conned into a cult.

More like a 3% drop. For no reason other than Donnie opening his dumb mouth.

This is why electing Trump is stupid. Just looking out for himself and the Mar-a-Lago crowd. Not looking out for you. Even the MAGA rally-goer crowd gets hurt by this. If they even have anything to their name.

Markets don't go straight up forever. There's always corrections along the way, & a day like this was long overdue.

If it wasn't something Trump said, something else would've caused it eventually.

Such a lame excuse. You guys will do anything to defend this guy.
This is not a correction. It was not inevitable. It’s completely unnecessary. All of the tariffs have been stupid and unnecessary.

LMAO "corrections along the way". That's not what happened today. Donnie said something stupid, unprovoked and unsolicited, and the markets reacted to him. Not to anything technical in the natural course of markets.

So dumb. Of course defend the guy like usual. That's what MAGA does, because it's a cult. Never criticize the leader. Good lord grow a spine.

Laugh all you want, doesn't bother me a bit. The fact that today's minor correction has you & tim all worked up, probably means you 2 are buy at the top & sell at the bottom guys.

I know several people who've bought here.

https://www.usmoneyreserve.com/shop/bullion/silver-bullion/silver-eagle-monster-box-500-coins/

Keep in mind that Gold & Silver have had a hell of a run already & the box you'll see in the link, was selling 4 under 10 K as recently as this time in 2017.
