People complain there is too much politics here but the weekly football thread never shows up.  So ill start it this week.  
 

Hey its Chargers week!   This is basically a playoff game on sunday night at the Raiders.  Lots of Chargers and Raiders fans in LA so it should be wild at most sports bars.  Possibly the biggest game in the rivalry.

Crap week of football.  Not that interested.  I will be interested qhen thr dust settles and matchups are in place but crap week.  I hate the last week betting and otherwise.

I was listening to 830 AM in Los Angeles in the 4PM hour today.  Had an NFL pundit guy on.  Can't remember his name.  Also had other NFL chat.  Anyway from what I recall...

1.  NFL pundit guy thinks Jim Harbaugh will coach the Raiders next season & Aaron Rodgers will be his QB.
2.  NFL pundit guy says he is hearing a lot of chatter from Dallas local media that the NFL might move the super bowl from LA to Dallas if covid becomes too big an issue.  He hears nothing about this from the LA side or NFL side, so it might be just wishful thinking.
3.  Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot thinks Baker Mayfield has played his last game as a Brown.  She expects the Browns QB next year will be either Derek Carr or Matt Ryan.

Some news about my system.

A couple of weeks ago, I had assumed no team would qualify as super elite this year.  But I actually ran the numbers on the Patriots and their 50-10 win last week over the Jaguars was so dominant that they actually have a shot to reach super elite status again.  They will need to absolutely destroy the Dolphins this week to do it, but its actually possible.  No-one else has a shot to reach super elite status.

The Cowboy / Eagle game is gonna be a joke with so many players out.

I guess the Winning Team will be whomever the NFL decides to pair during the playoffs.

Carson Strong probably will make it in the NFL as a starter.  The reason he is slotted in round 2 is because he isn't Lamar Jackson and can't play the position as a super fast RB lol.  He actually he's docked for being a pocket passer.  Idiots.  Strong literally does everything.  Reads defenses very well.  Goes thru progressions super fast.  Sets protections.  Heady player.  Leader.  Cannon arm.  Tall.  But he can't run like the wind.  So its round 2 for him.  NFL has a lot of dumb GMs.

I mean, sure something can crop up that makes him a bust, but DAMN.  Round 2?  I read an analysis where they go "Well, he is a round 2 QB because the NFL is trending away from this type of player."  Yeah to WHICH type of player?  Trey Lance?

Chiefs had the second-best odds to win the super bowl based on their lights-out defense.  But giving up 2 TDs to Drew Lock and trailing the Broncos in a game where they are trying to clinch HFA and a bye?  They should be crushing an offense that starts Drew Lock.  Those super bowl odds seem way too high to me.

This is beyond struggling. The whole organization needs to change. The front office is full of Maras and they are calling the shots and can’t be fired. The GM and scouts are just front men, there to take the bullets when it goes wrong.

Ok, good. Right now you can get a ticket to the giants game for 6 dollars. Thats less than the cost of a medium Pepsi.  Mara has to get the Fock out of the way and take his brother, nephew and the rest of his clan with him and go to Westchester country club and let football people do the footballing. I have a fiduciary interest in the Vikings/ Bears game. Aqib Talib is doing the game. And just as bad, Moose Johnson is doing the Giants game.  At least I won’t be watching much of that. The mute button will be in use today.

Hope so...... but this time of year, a team (usually) is what it is. And what this team is....they're a wonderfully talented defensive team, who can get after the QB, create TOs.... Unfortunately they're also a team who can't run the ball, least not with the slow/unexplosive overpaid RB they insist on feeding the ball (tired of 2nd and 9 after they run Zeke on 1st down!!!). Our DEs, or somebody, is going to have to stay in their lanes, keep Murray in the pocket - or he'll kill us again.... We're also going to have to stop with the 72 holding penaties a game.... and for the love of Gawd, we HAVE to take this game out of Zuershiits hands, or leg shall I say. That idiot is not worth a damn, he's going to cost us, you watch.
