Ukraine - Doomsday

Recommended Posts

Ukraine should have been more like Hungary and elected a president that cared about his country more than the EU. But there was money to be made. 🇺🇦

They kind of did but he was "unelected" in a coup.  I am certain that it was not western-inspired.  Organic.  Totally organic.

Zalensky was elected in 2019.  The coup was 2014.  You are incredibly stupid.

I love how the argument now is that Russia is doing horrific things in a war for what many there believe to be for their very own survival instead of asking why did we get to this point?  Why did NATO decide to expand east?  Why was there a western-inspired coupe to overthrow Yanukovych?  You cannot have it both ways.  There are consequences to actions.  At times, this is what they look like.  Don't cry in your milk.

Where to start?

Ukraine has a history of being starved/bullied by Russia. There's a deep resentment there.

NATO did expand east but Ukraine wasn't a part of that deliberatly to not provoke Russia. I think you can see why they would have wanted to join. They gave up nuclear weapons for wind and fake promises.

These color revolution coups were spontaneous in the oppressed world. People were fed up with their corrupt systems. If the US were fomenting them, they may have done more to help the people when they rose up, they never did, which to me indicates they were caught unaware and unprepared.

Russia invaded unprovoked because Putin misses the empire the Soviet Union amassed and thought the timing was right since a potato is occupying the US presidency.

I forgot to check in on that Hungarian election. Thanks for reminding me. Wow, big win for Orban. I was hearing it would be a close election this time.

If this China bullsh*t goes south, I'd have to return to the US and do fock all I don't know, or go to another country and do what I'm doing now. If I go to another country, Hungary is pretty much the top of the list. Could be Korea or Japan but I'm not terribly interested in Asia anymore. Maybe South America... They pay well in the Middle East but I have zero interest in those cultures. My youngest daughter is eight, I'm not going there. I think Hungary would get first look if I don't return to the States.

This article sounds like rusty wrote it. So triggered. Libs can't put up with real democracy and losing elections.

From Budapest to Washington, the Illiberals Are Winning

Viktor Orbán, Marine Le Pen, and Donald Trump thrive on creating chaos and blaming their opponents. The only solution is for liberals to show voters what they stand for.

One thing I love about this place that I understand no one other than me can appreciate is the feeling that I'm the smartest guy in the room.

I can't even explain how that feels but it's not bad.

Ever notice it's always the dumbest people that relentlessly shout how smart they are.  Dunning Kruger.

I agree. But I'd hope that somebody who disagreed with democratic norms, separation of powers, term limits, human rights, autocratic tendencies, and who showed a propensity to invade countries for no reason would be filtered out in the primaries.

I think I'd have to vote Biden over Putin, but it's a lot closer than it should be.  Putin at least tries to do his job and advance the nation's interest.

How can you think about Ukraine when children are being mutiliated and raped in America?

No chance for me. Putin would be kept in check and only have 4-8 years. No way he focks up this country as bad as creepy joe has.

I’m good like that. So what are we going to do about this? This can’t be allowed to continue. 🇺🇦 . If Putin gets away with this now, what’s to stop him in the future? 🇺🇦

27 EU member states plan to cut use of Russian gas by two-thirds by the end of this year and then make Europe entirely independent of Russian fossil fuels by 2030.

China and India will pick up some of the slack (at discounted prices), but Russia's economic outlook is bleak.

My worry is Putin is replaced in the near future and the world is once again fooled into believing Russia is trustworthy.  The new Russian president (dictator/mob boss) will be equally as corrupt, abusive, and power hungry. But he won't be Putin.

We have to do more. What’s NATO waiting for ? The sanctions aren’t stopping the slaughter.

Europe is no different than us, there are no other viable alternatives to energy. However when they need oil, and they will, I know of a country with tons of it, who is very friendly to the EU.

More sanctions being issued today.

We're sending over 600 of those nasty tank-killing drones.

More and more stuff is being done daily, and not the international community is outraged over the slaughter.

Give it a few minutes. Ukraine is winning.

China NEEDS Russia. Period. Anyone who thinks China will come down on Russia is a fool. Although I doubt there is anyone who does.
