Pork rolls?

Recommended Posts

I have never heard of this, it is apparently a regional food that was being talked about elsewhere.

Have you heard of them and is it any good?

Pork Roll is a NJ thing.  The classic is pork roll egg & cheese sammich.  I love it on top of a burger.

I can't be the only one that has not heard of them.

It does not exist in the south or west.

next you'll tell me you never heard of scrapple as well

That was on bizarre foods with Andrew Zimmerman. People don't eat that do they?

Kind of like frog legs or alligator in the south or rocky mountain oysters in the west.

Outside of NJ/NY/PA, it's not heard of.

Scrapple is nowhere near as good as pork roll.

Scrapple is a PA/DE thing, it's not very good.  Pork roll is the meat of the gods.

i'll eat scrapple if offered. i don't really order or look for myself. it is a little scary. it's basically the remnants of what they sweep up off floor of pig slaughterhouse mixed with some spices and like corn meal. pork roll is better.

how about spam???

A ton of fun if the lights are off and you don’t eat them in a 69. Worse than dying of a heart attack.

This is the correct answer.    1 fried slice of pork roll = your entire recommended intake of salt for the week. .  .

Doesn't mean that they're not good.

Yep this.  It looks like baloney and spam had a baby.  I believe it is ground pork shoulder.  Fatty porky goodness.
