AOC says Texas turning blue is inevitable during campaign stop

Recommended Posts

She has spoken!

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., told a Texas crowd Saturday that it is inevitable that Texas will turn blue as she endorsed two candidates for Congress prior to the primary next month.

Ocasio-Cortez, who has had mixed results when endorsing candidates, was in San Antonio to support the campaigns of Jessica Cisneros and Greg Casar. MySanAntonio.com reported that Ocasio-Cortez told the crowd that the two have her backing because they back Medicare for all, unions and reproductive freedom.

"Here’s what’s exciting about Jessica’s race and Greg’s race…is that if we flip Texas, we flip the country. She continued, "Texas turning blue is inevitable. The only question is when. We are going to fight for a living wage, we are going to make sure we unionize the hell out of this state…and we’re going to make sure that not one dime is made exploitatively across any worker, especially the undocumented."

That’s the plan, don’t let anyone tell you it’s not. They are trying to replace Americans with compliant illigals. Sick Focks these leftists. Replace. That’s what it’s all about.

It might be necessary.  Whites and blacks are not replacing themselves, and we need a group to pay into that social security. The left is claiming all of them, but these illegals aren't democrats, they are up for grabs. This is one that may not be worth fighting. If the right aggressively accepted illegal immigrants,  the left would shut it down in a minute.

It will still be a net win for them. Besides, the replacement aspect to this is dwarfed by the money aspect. It’s about money. The very banks that the left were yelling about not so long ago will make even more with a few million illegals coming in all at once. They aren’t going to live in tents and use pay phones.

Compliance is what we want...not what we get.  I have no problem with law abiding foreigners.  Messican or otherwise.

Why would the right accept open borders? This would not be a win.

It will turn blue NLT 2030. Too much illegal immigration.

It might not unfold the way you think.

Once our hispanic friends become entrenched and start getting their life rolling, they tend to lean right.

They, not unlike Asians, have a culture that infuses a work ethic.  And once these folks earn something, they are not all that happy about the government (liberals) coming to steal it.

The majority of them still vote blue. As does every non-white immigrant.

My wife's brother married a Hispanic that was born in Juarez and came to America for college.

Her whole family are now citizens and are maga types, ie very far right.

She was the biggest supporter of the wall of anyone I knew.

To claim votes.  As soon as that happened the left would shut the borders down.

Backing open borders would cost them many more Republican votes than votes from illegals.

Took about a hundred years for the Irish to start leaving the Democratic Party. I don’t really feel like waiting that long.

They aren't coming by the 1000s, they are coming by them millions. The right can't win in the future without them.

They can be deported. Not all of course, but enough. Don’t tell me they can’t.

They can’t give them what the left will. So you’re saying be like democrats so you can still be a Republican.  We have that already. They are called RINOS.

You do realize the immigration fight is lost. It's done. It's crying over spilt milk. Beating a dead horse. The left is winning every angle on this. Because they lie about every angle and control the narrative. Turning the tables isnt RINO, it's getting control back.

Nope. It will never end if you allow it to continue and not send them back. Today it’s Central Americans, and if that doesn’t work it will be Africans. And when. China collapses on itself it will be Chinese.

I was going to say something similar -- the US citizens I know of Mexican descent, professionals, are the strongest supporters of a secure border that I know.  Combined with the work ethic mentioned above, they always seemed easy pickings for the GOP, and I never understood why that demographic votes Dem.  Maybe it is like @Hardcore troubadoursays; they are programmed to vote one way and it takes a generation or two to see the light.  :dunno:

I know. But most of them are from the south of us, and they are the ones that still come on even when the border isn’t open. The ones from the Middle East amd elsewhere started showing up more when Biden opened the borders and refused to vet anyone

She’s right. Biden got a higher % of the vote than any Dem presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter. TX is nearly in purple / toss up status.

On the liberals wish list is that everyone becomes a focking loon.

On the conservatives wish list is that everyone becomes a normal.

CNN would disagree

http://web.archive.org/web/20220214195538/https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/14/opinions/republican-latino-voters-gest/index.html

(CNN)We may be witnessing a critical turning point in Latino politics in the United States.

Justin Gest

Contrary to their monolithic treatment by many Americans, Latinos have always been very diverse -- economically, culturally and in their ethnic and national origins. But, politically speaking, they were reliably Democratic.

That may no longer be true. In an era when conservative politics is acutely nationalist and consumed by a sense of cultural threat, a number of new polls show Latino voters growing more Republican.

But this trend may be less about how Latinos see America's political parties and more about how new generations of Latinos see themselves.

"The idea of unidad -- Latin unity -- not all Latinos buy into that," says Sergio Garcia-Rios, a Cornell University political scientist and the polling director for Univision. "People have multiple identities... (And) we're starting to see a lot more later-generation Latinos, who are just farther away from an immigrant's arrival."

As the 2022 Texas primary elections approach in March, the Lone Star state offers a telling example. In the 2020 presidential race, Democrats targeted Texas, believing the pace of demographic change played in their favor. Like much of the American Southwest, an aging, White working-class population was giving way to urban professionals and immigrant-origin minorities -- key constituents of the Democrats' coalition.

But after Hillary Clinton won Zapata County, a county along the Mexico border, by almost 33 points in 2016, it turned red in 2020. Webb County, another border county, doubled its Republican turnout from 2016. And, in Starr County, south of Webb, Republicans recorded a 55% shift from 2016, the single biggest swing to the right in the entire country.

The Trump campaign saw similar numbers from White working-class regions in the Upper Midwest and Rust Belt in 2016, but Zapata, Webb and Starr counties are respectively 94%, 95% and 96% Latino. And Trump actually performed 10 points better across Texas's 18 counties where Latinos make up 80% majorities in 2020 than he did in 2016.

These voters were ostensibly in the crosshairs of Trump's assault on demographic change -- the Mexican Americans whose allegiance, virtues and values he had questioned, going so far as claiming a US-born judge of Mexican ancestry, Gonzalo Curiel, could not be impartial due to his heritage. (Trump did not apologize, but he later claimed his words had been "misconstrued.")

And these voters lived up against the border he wished to militarize, the border to which he attributed so many of America's ills. How did Trump's rhetoric not sufficiently stir the Latino identity of people in the Rio Grande Valley to mobilize greater Democratic support?

Don't pretend you don't know what Joe Rogan is all about

The answer was simple: Many people in South Texas do not think of themselves as Latinos or immigrants -- and they didn't vote based on Trump's rhetoric around either of those identities. Often referred to as "Tejanos," many of these Texas residents have lived in the United States for six, seven and even eight generations.

Hispanic Voters Now Evenly Split Between Parties, WSJ Poll Finds

Republicans have made rapid gains among a crucial voting demographic that has long favored Democrats

The nation’s large and diverse group of Hispanic voters is showing signs of dividing its support between Democrats and Republicans more evenly than in recent elections, a new Wall Street Journal poll finds, a troubling development for the Democratic Party, which has long counted on outsize Hispanic support.

Obviously, the democratic party is trying a hail mary by sending AOC to Texas.  It will fail.  Blacks and latinos are turning republican.  She is not the future of America.

This.

The Hispanics in this country are more hardcore anti-illegals than anyone, even if if at one point they were illegal.

As I stated back then, hispanics will lean right after they get entrenched.....this entire strategy of Democrats thinking they can stack the deck with these people is going to fail, and it just bit them.....

I was trying to find my post where I predicted Texas would turn blue. I think I said 2032. I stand by that. Trump is an anomaly and the nonwhites will go back to voting Dem.
