🤣 I love this place.

Pretty straight forward, American chick competes for a communist dictatorship. No big deal, it's happened before. The funny part is ESPN can't wait to applaud this decision under the guise of some sort of bravery or whatever the fock which in turn obviously appeases China also, hell, bonus for ESPN. It's a crazy thing, completely worth noting and commenting on. It's what we do here.

Nobody is crying or outraged but, it's a point and laugh situation and move on.  Like most of y'all's liberal garbage, it's hilarious.

Ever buy anything from China?  You support a communist dictatorship?

I dunno, 2 golds and a silver for a 17 year old at the Olympics seems pretty impressive to me.  Who were the other nominees?

I stopped caring about the ESPY’s when I was in high school and Cael Sanderson didn’t win best male athlete after going 159-0.

yah I dont care about the ESPYs but I dont see them giving an Oscar for best actor to some Chiner either

we have seen how they cater to the CCP

honestly dont care, dont watch the olympics, espn or espys but know fock China

It's just awards for athletes and sometimes they are of different nationality.  I think it's strange how someone could twist this into something so negative.

Except this wasn't an award for "bravery or whatever the fock."  It's an award for being a good athlete that a lot less people knew about previously.

It's ESPN virtue signaling, nothing more. The espy's used to be a popular event, it no longer is, this is part of the reason why that is the case.

The Jimmy V & Stu Scott's cancer speeches were at the espy's, riveting stuff. Too bad those things aren't likely to take place again, nobody watches. The ratings are absolutely abysmal.

ESPN used to be an escape, many fond memories of when I was a kid tuning in for highlights, it was literally the only thing I watched, ESPN & Sportscenter. Now, the entire network is unwatchable. It's a bummer.

ESPN has multiple issues and it has been fading in popularity for years now.  I rarely watch it as well.

What is so wrong with giving her the award, specifically this award?

Linsey Vonn won the ESPY 2 years in a row for best overall female athlete in 2010 and 2011 (3 years before Su Scott's speech).  She had 1 Olympic Gold and a bronze at that point.

Tell us more about how Gu, with 2 golds and a silver at 17 years old, doesn't even deserve to be the best "breakthrough athlete."

The China connection, I feel like that's obvious.

The citizenship is extremely sketchy as well as China doesn't allow dual citizenship. You can read about it below.

I had no idea there was an issue around Lightyear so I looked it up and there’s a guy on guy kiss in a montage. Two questions:

1) Is that all the woke stuff in the movie or is there more?

2) Is that all it takes for a movie to be “woke”?

It's two female characters that kiss.  That's it.

That franchise had a built in fan base spanning multiple generations I haven't seen it but, it's very odd that it failed so miserably. Should have been a can't miss hit. I'm sure there were many reasons why but, Disney must have really focked that one up.

🤣 I love this place.   So the only reason she shouldn't have won the award is because she competed for China, and you're the one saying the ESPY's are being too political?   LOL, what a hypocrite this guy is.

There were a few different reasons.  I think the biggest was not having Tim Allen for the voice.

It is a weird one, she tried to renounce her citizenship and China doesn't recognize dual citizenship. Weird.

Where did you find that she tried to renounce her citizenship?  I can't find that anywhere.

You're on the right track though.  If you want to complain about the ESPY's being woke, you'd probably have a better argument arguing about Vitali Klitschko winning the "Courage Award"

I’ll dismiss the retarded whataboutisms and deal with reality. There is no way she gets this award if she completes for Russia.  Or any other country for that matter.

No. Voltaire fought for this country while you were watching the Mickey Mouse club. Two things that haven’t changed.

I aleady showed how Gu performed better than someone that won the ESPY for best overall female athlete (twice).

2 golds and a silver at the Olympcs is better than any woman did that competed for America.  Only one other person even won 2 golds (but no other medals).

And she was 17 years old.   She was very deserving of the award.

And if she did that for Russia she doesn’t win it. You know this.  Just stop.

That’s not my point. It’s the idiots that voted for this administration that are in cahoots with China. I can honestly say I have not voted for one person in The house, the Senate, or the president currently in DC. I have absolutely no representation in Washington.
