US military will defend Taiwan 'if it comes to that,' Biden says

Recommended Posts

@Pimpadeaux

Time to sign up dude. Get your war mongering ass to Taiwan since you wimped out on ukraine as you cheered it on daily.

President Biden stated that the U.S. will send the military to defend Taiwan if the People's Republic of China were to invade the island nation.

"Very quickly, you didn't want to get involved in the Ukraine conflict militarily for obvious reasons. Are you willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan if it comes to that?" a reporter asked the president during a news conference in Japan.

"Yes," Biden replied.

"You are?" the reporter pressed.

"That's the commitment we made," the president said.

Between this clear statement,  seeing Russia's military get humiliated and handed their ass by Ukrainians using US military hardware, and knowing the US military is not presently involved in any other engagements, Xi Jin Ping is well advised to think twice and leave the status quo alone or else reap the storm.

Biden* has gained some credibility after his Afghanistan debacle by handing Russia their ass via a proxy war.

He has done no such thing. Russia got what they wanted, and then some. And Americans suffer because of the disgusting, outrageous spending by this government.

Let's let in another 2 million+ illegals and spend another useless couple trillion dollars to gain political support from crooked liberal idiots and throw the rest at a war we shouldn't be involved if not except for trying to keep it from happening.

If Trump were in office that war would have never happened.

Russia is being handed their ass in a war they had no business beginning and also one they had no business losing. Ukraine has flipped the odds from being 50:1 underdogs to 2:1 favorites to beat off an aggressive invader. Russia keeps dialing back it's objectives, their morale is non-existent, they won't be able to hold their territory let alone ever conquer/govern it. They're going to get driven out.  Invaders have no reason to be there, local residents do.

As for Americans suffering, it's a fair point. Yes indirectly. One way in that they're footing the bill for the war. Another in whatever imports from that part of the world, crude oil, cooking oil and wheat and such, is off the market. Frankly, the cost comes cheaply in terms of US blood ... none gets spilt. The Ukrainians are providing all the manpower. This is the price you have to pay if you want to see democracy defeat totalitarianism and it's a small one compared to the price the Ukrainians are willing to pay.

And yet Russia still got what they wanted all along. They just started getting greedy and those are the parts they are losing at.

Every citizen in the US that even remotely pays attention to anything that's going on around them knew weeks ahead that there was a major threat to ukraine and biden came out and said he would not do anything until after a war started. That strategy killed thousands of people and millions more lost their homes and fled and you know the rest...

All the blood shed is on biden for being a poosey for not even trying to be tough on Russia.

Taiwan is next. This country can not afford to continue to fund war after war.

This country is turning into a liberal totalitarian disaster. The democrats have plenty of ballots sitting on trucks and in warehouses to be delivered come November.

Biden’s* lead up to war was a disaster. That’s on him, the people who rigged him into office, and the morons who voted for him. He exudes dementia and incompetence but they installed him anyway. Then Afghanistan looked pathetic.

Russia isn’t getting what they want though, nor will they be able to hold it. They’ve focked themselves in every way possible. Hopefully China sees that and stops the saber rattling. My kids speak Chinese fluently and will need the military to pay for school like I did. I’m not particularly keen on seeing any conflict but you can’t just leave Taiwan isolated.

As for left wing totalitarianism, let’s hope that cracks. There are signs it’s happening and concerned citizens acting as election observers will know what to look for and be better prepared for any shenanigans going forward. The Dems won’t be able to use Covid as an excuse to mass-mail ballots this time. Leftoid hold on Twitter is collapsing, states are passing ballot integrity laws, the bad guys went way further than they should have and pissed off the country that didn’t elect them last time. They are in retreat and performing rear guard maneuvers.

I think if it was a level playing field the conservatives would take over this country. I just think the liberals are way better at cheating than they are at governing.

On what has become a daily occurrence, we're told to basically ignore what the babbling idiot in charge says.

This shlt is embarrassing.

They don't need anyone's approval. While biden is president, they can have anything they want. Including the US.

The template has been around for a while... just look at all the "fact checker" websites.

Something else that would really help is forcing companies to pay US wages to non-US employees.

You’re right but it may be a biting off your nose to spite your face scenario. China can’t fock with us too much because we buy all their sh1t and it would crater their economy to cut us off. That’s the whole idea of globalism — with interconnectedness comes security, because we can’t harm each other without harming ourselves.

So now any time a “democracy” gets invaded we’re on the hook? Cool. Now all those democracies can not spend much money on their own defense. Like Ukraine.

I would way more want to take the hit on cutting off China ahead of taking the hit for open borders, green new deal, and sending billions to Ukraine.

I’m not sure you understand my point. We cut off China, they have no reason not to destroy us. Seems like that could backfire :dunno:

If we cut off China, they will topple like the house of cards they are.  Are you actually suggesting that China would start a war with us?  Ridiculous.

This has been going on for 20+ years it isn't Biden's fault, he's a terrible president but not everything falls on him

We are probably talking about different things at this point. China is empowered now beyond what anyone here should want.

Fock what we buy from them, just wait for them to get stronger as we regress though.

We can't let China get TSMC, which makes a high percentage of the worlds advanced digital semiconductors.  This isn't baby formula or chlorine tablets, it's serious shiot, access to energy level serious.

The entire west propped up China's economy for decades. Now they are a superpower. It's our fault. But hey, at least we saved a couple bucks on household items. Oh and everyone has an iPhone. Winning.
