craftsman 1,045 Posted July 19, 2022 I have watched zero baseball this year. A few years back I subscribed to MLB.com to watch games on my computer. Just don't want to use my free time for baseball these days. In fact, when I heard on sports radio that the all star game is coming up, I was semi shocked to hear that baseball is even being played right now even though I shouldn't have been. Mets could too, since they have some big numbers coming off the books in 2 and 3 years, plus Nimmo's a FA after the season. The Dodgers don't really need him, but they'll move someone else to bring him in. They're only going to be just over $200M next year. I'll be interested to see if they pick up Bauer's option. WhiteWonder 2,759 Posted July 19, 2022 Giants may go after him ala Kris Bryant last season. I don't think it would be smart unless they have the $$ to sign him to an extension. For a team that continually contends with older and role players, they really could use a young star. At 23, he becomes your franchise cornerstone for the next 7 seasons. JustinCharge 2,397 Posted July 19, 2022 The 3 teams that spend crazy money are the Dodgers, Yankees and Mets. The Giants *COULD* do it, but they are cheap and follow a strategy where they sign free agent cheap pitchers on the rebound because the Giants play in a pitcher-friendly yard paired with an average batting lineup. The Giants would feel signing Soto is a waste because he will never reach his true potential playing 81 games in San Francisco. That said, its possible the Giants sign Soto because the entire fanbase knows of the Giants "blueprint" and are getting increasingly hostile about it and calls to sign a stud bat are growing ever louder. "Not even close"? LOL. Go look at a graphic and tell me they're not close. Heck, you even note that LC at Wrigley is 31' shorter than Yankee stadium. Even CF is a couple feet shorter at Wrigley. RC is 23' shorter in Wrigley. The ONLY spots where Yankee stadium is shorter, is right down the lines and those stretches of wall aren't even that long. Which is why I said that the corners at Yankee stadium aren't relevant. Literally, 80% of the fence distance at Wrigley is shorter than Yankee stadium... to which, you said the stadiums aren't even close (meaning that Yankee stadium is way shorter), then proceeded to talk about down the line. Also, I didn't care to watch the video... my comment was based on your text comment.
