I never commented on that part of it.  Hasn’t monkeypox been around for awhile though?  Shouldn’t they know how it is transmitted based on when it was around previously?

No I said it was PRIMARILY (read: not completely) a “gay disease,” and that the CDC should’ve done more to point that out.  But I never commented specifically about the specifics of how it is spread.

Thanks for the link (seriously).  But I think that answers my overall question.  They think the current version of the virus is different from the one that had popped up in the early 2000’s and such. It’s just that  apparently the current outbreak really started in 2017 but was mostly just in Nigeria until recently.

Even so, even this guy was saying it “could” transmit sexually.  Which is pretty much what was being said recently.  Saying it can spread from “intimate skin to skin contact” is basically a politically correct way of saying it can spread sexually.

He didn’t “discover the disease,” learn to read.

Edit: Also, my original claim was never that “no one said it.”  I was asking why there wasn’t a consensus from years ago (so before Covid politicization).  Which is apparently because this is a new version of the virus, and even this guy didn’t seem all that confident.
