My only exposure to any awards shows are when there are postings on Boards I visit.  I have no use for such programming.  My wife used to watch the Oscars but she gave up on that a decade ago.

I love how they frame everything like they just broke through the glass ceiling, conquering all the injustices that had been holding down gays, trannies, and fat people.  It’s the same crap I’ve been hearing for years.  Newsflash - gays, trannies and fat people have been accepted by the music industry for a long, long time.  But hey, gotta have a struggle.  Not sure Liberals could live without it.

Actually it's your attitude to allow perversions and anomalies of nature to run the country is the real problem.

I don't think people have a problem agreeing that they should treat those people with respect and dignity, it's the force-fed and shoving down people's throats which is the problem. These are significantly small groups and they should not be overrepresented which is exactly what you guys are doing to the other 99% of the population.

Instead of helping these people, you're just trying to acquire as many virtues as possible. Shallow, of course, but it's not like you really support this stuff. You just want to be seen as supporting it.

Agreed that they are a very tiny percentage of the population, but who is focusing on them? You are. Conservatives are. And you can’t say you’re treating them with dignity and respect if you’re calling them perversions and anomalies of nature at the same time.

“Our side” didn’t decide it; doctors and mental health experts decided it, most of them a long time ago. As a society we’re just starting to accept the truth about it, very reluctantly. Look how long it took us to accept homosexuality. Look at the fight conservatives put up over that. They lost that fight; most conservatives are now accepting of gay people. It took a long time but it happened. Someday they will accept transgenders as well.

I think trans acceptance is much different than homosexual acceptance. 

Trans people want inclusion, okay cool. However...that means that female trans (Male to female) want to be seen as women participants in things like music, sports, and other industries. So now, bio-females will lose against bio-males. There is another thread on this and I am not going to get into it here; but IMO, there is a HUGE problem seeing that people like my daughter would lose out on sports opportunities because someone who was once a male and now identifies as female beats her and gets more scholarships, etc. 

There is a biological difference between being bio male and bio female. our brains are different. Muscle, fat, and physical capabilities are all different when we are biologically born different. No surgery, hormones, therapy, or sexual preference can change that. 

If you want to be trans, cool, go for it. But what right do trans people have to take rights away from those that aren't trans and have worked just as hard (or harder) to get where they are? 

Like, Kaitlyn Jenner being voted "Woman of the Year?" Why? It was her first year as a woman? What about countless others who've been women since birth and have made incredible strides and positive movements?  It wasn't enough to be an Olympic Champion as a man, she now needs to be woman of the year? THAT is where I have an issue with this whole "acceptance" thing.

You start telling trans-females that they cannot win awards for being on a women's sports team and you're back to the "they hate trans" garbage.
