Just watched the first episode of Full Swing on Netflix. Followed Speef and JT for most of it but pretty cool look of some of the behind the scenes stuff on Tour. Good for golf junkies.

Tiger has sarno.  Plantar fasciitis was the latest, it's a classic "ailment" for sarno. He'll have a strained bagina by the weekend, book it.

What is sarno?  Like hypochondria with physical ailments? Just assuming based on your use.

Pretty good description.  Years ago Dr. John Sarno wrote a book about it, here is the description from Amazon:

Quote

“Dr. Sarno saved me from a life of pain.” — Howard Stern

The New York Times bestseller that has helped thousands leverage the mind-body connection to heal lower back pain and live pain free—without drugs, surgery, or physical therapy.

Offering a surprising, noninvasive solution to an epidemic of pain, Dr. John E. Sarno’s research on TMS (Tension Myoneural Syndrome) reveals that stress, anxiety and other psychological factors,
not structural abnormalities, are the root cause of chronic pain.

TMS develops as a result of repressed emotions which trigger tension in the body and deprive muscles and nerves of oxygen. The solution? Recognize the emotional roots of your TMS and sever the connection between mental and physical pain.

With Dr. Sarno’s expert guidance you will learn:

  • How the mind-body connection can permanently heal shoulder, neck, and lower back pain
  • How accepting negative emotions like anger, anxiety, fear, or grief can reverse physical symptoms
  • How we condition ourselves to think back pain is inevitable
  • Why you should resume physical activity as soon as possible

Sharing case histories and the results of his extensive, groundbreaking research, Dr. Sarno’s life-changing insights show readers how to banish back pain and reclaim their lives for good.

https://www.amazon.com/Healing-Back-Pain-Mind-Body-Connection/dp/0446392308/ref=sr_1_1?crid=13TDFHK80CIFE&keywords=john+sarno+healing+back+pain+book&qid=1676473294&sprefix=john+sarno%2Caps%2C159&sr=8-1

His initial focus was primarily back pain, but it applies to tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, and a host of other ailments.

I learned about it because about 15 years ago my wife was going through serious upper back/shoulder pain for months (the duration is a tell; it doesn't take your body months/years to heal an injury).  At the time she was going through some stress.  Folks who used to post here recommended this book; I convinced her to read it (that's the hardest part, since you basically are telling someone the very real excruciating pain is all in their heads).  She started it on a Friday night, read maybe 1/4 of it.  We went out to dinner the next night and by the end I commented that she didn't seem in as much pain.  She looked at me wide-eyed and said "it's almost gone!"

It has helped me as well.  We're both engineers BTW so not typically into touchy feely gobbledygook.

If you know anyone who fits this description, I highly recommend the book.  :)

I think Tiger is a wasted pick this week, but we'll see...

Very possible. I told myself if he was there at 4.08 i would take him. The fact that is was one pick before KSB was just the cherry on top of the sundae.  I likely would have taken Kuchar there and lucked out he made it back to me ar 5.04.

Like I said, we'll see. I think if we were talking Bay Hill here, he'd be worth the pick even being as rusty as he is. At Riv, he has struggled even when mostly healthy.
