If you believe it teaches a lesson, it was the perfect situation: last out, down 4 runs, they almost definitely were going to lose anyway. posty 2,846 Posted March 12, 2023 That was definitely due to the reaction by the batter on strike two (which was a strike)... I know he was probably trying to make a point, but it would have been better to throw him out of the game after strike two and let a pinch-hitter complete the at-bat, if he was that upset at the hitter... But the real lesson is when the ump makes a marginally bad call don't jump up and down like a focking monkey that just got a free banana.
