It should be stressed that Trump gave Republicans in the House his marching orders last night: don’t cave on the debt ceiling. No compromise. Let the economy crash. “It’s going to sooner or later, might as well be now.” 

He thinks an economic catastrophe will help him. Who knows? He might be right. But what an awful thing to hope for.

I would much prefer to see Desantis be the candidate over Trump. I think we could see this happen.

That you do not realize this fact or accept is part of the problem.  The pointless attacks are making him stronger and the polls bear this out.  Maybe not constantly just attacking is an option. Some of us think Desantis is a better option, but that gets lost to the wider base when you feed into the stuff he says is happening.

The problem with your argument, for me, is that it’s based on two assumptions which I don’t accept: 

1. The various indictments and legal judgments against Donald Trump are all part of a coordinated effort by liberals to “get him”, rather than our legal system doing its job to punish those who break or abuse the law. Trump would very much like you to believe it’s all a conspiracy and you do. 

2. The mainstream media is involved in a coordinated effort to defeat Donald Trump, and not only him but all conservatives. This meme, which has become quite popular with a good chunk of our population, goes far beyond the previous “media has a liberal bias” argument. It’s one thing to believe that most mainstream media journalists are liberal; it’s another to believe that they are actively and deliberately working together to achieve a political outcome. 
 

Obviously these two points are intertwined. And millions of Americans, including you based on your posts, believe them to be true. I do not, I find them completely absurd and actually dangerous, rooted in fear and ignorance. But this is the root of our disagreement.

Regarding number 1, to anyone with a rational view of the world, that is EXACTLY what it looks like.  Particularly as we learn that so much of it was just made up and not valid.  Further, if there were any indication of equal treatment that would refut this line, but the lack of attention to Joe Biden stands in stark contrast. 

Regarding number 2, of course they are, its plainly evident. Just as much as Fox is doing the same to Biden. 

People are out there everyday experiencing these situations themselves, in every day life. Its not unique to politics. And when they see something happening that they recognize, they can easily put 2 and 2 together. No matter how much pretending liberals do, they are only actually convincing themselves..... people living in the real world have too much practical experience with shenanigans like this.

I know it feels good, and I totally get it.  But that short term gratification of applying the "fock you" to someone you simply dislike is achieving outcomes counter to what you actually want.
