US providing Ukraine with another $1.2B in military aid ahead of expected spring offensive against Russia

Recommended Posts

I mean this https://www.finance.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/HSGAC - Finance Joint Report 2020.09.23.pdf did happen with Ukraine and China when Biden was VP.

From the first half of one page.

In late 2013 and into 2014, mass protests erupted in Kyiv, Ukraine, demanding integration into western economies and an end to systemic corruption that had plagued the country. At least 82 people were killed during the protests, which culminated on Feb. 21 when Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych abdicated by fleeing the country. Less than two months later, over the span of only 28 days, significant events involving the Bidens unfolded.

On April 16, 2014, Vice President Biden met with his son’s business partner, Devon Archer, at the White House. Five days later, Vice President Biden visited Ukraine, and he soon after was described in the press as the “public face of the administration’s handling of Ukraine.” The day after his visit, on April 22, Archer joined the board of Burisma. Six days later, on April 28, British officials seized $23 million from the London bank accounts of Burisma’s owner, Mykola Zlochevsky. Fourteen days later, on May 12, Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma, and over the course of the next several years, Hunter Biden and Devon Archer were paid millions of dollars from a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch for their participation on the board.

The 2014 protests in Kyiv came to be known as the Revolution of Dignity — a revolution against corruption in Ukraine. Following that revolution, Ukrainian political figures were desperate for U.S. support. Zlochevsky would have made sure relevant Ukrainian officials were well aware of Hunter’s appointment to Burisma’s board as leverage. Hunter Biden’s position on the board created an immediate potential conflict of interest that would prove to be problematic for both U.S. and Ukrainian officials and would affect the implementation of Ukraine policy.

Yeah I'm good with that.  Rather send money for them to fight this war then send our troops over there.

The war is USA vs Russia.  We are in a war.  But we are just using Ukranian lives.  I know that makes some people feel good about it.

Would you rather we invade Russia with US troops?

Russia didnt attack us.  That was the whole point of democrats opposing the Iraq invasion in 2003.  Democrats said Iraq didnt attack us.  The democrats wanted to charge Bush43 for war crimes for that.  You should be banned from the forum because this statement you made proves the last 20 years of liberal yammering on internet forums is utter lies and nonsense.

The funny thing is, Joe Biden actually supported the 2003 Iraq invasion, so hes one of the few democrats out there being consistent.

It's weird watching Chickenhawk Conservative Republicans and Liberal Democrats agree. If the US isn't fighting somewhere may as well participate in a proxy war.

1.2 billion is unimpressive. We spent a billion a week in Iraq and that was long after Saddam was defeated.

I wouldn’t mind spending 50 or 100 billion if we can prevent Russia from taking Ukraine- and it looks like we can.

Seriously? You think Russia is going to let Ukraine go and walk away with their tail between their legs?? It's a money grab, that's all it is right now.

How about Biden spends that money on protecting our borders, not theirs???

I don’t want to “protect” our borders in the manner that you apparently do.

You don't want us safer? That's absurd

Do you think only good people enter our Country illegally?

I don’t believe shutting down our southern border would make us safer. We can only secure it so much without threatening trade.

Trade with Mexico and the other countries south of us brings us unlimited prosperity. A somewhat loose southern border is the price we have to pay for that.

but yay WAR!!!

I used to think there is no way we could afford healthcare for all, but after this proxy war, I know we can

I used to also think damn 25 bil is alot for a border wall, but yah easy drop in the bucket

if you said hey we have 100 billion in surplus would you rather it goto american homeless or ukranian proxy war?

yes

100 billion could house every homeless person in the country and relocate them there to get them the help they need

plenty of room in the mojave

there is a town near me that has a homeless encampment the city built 2 bedroom sheds, and a universal restroom for relatively cheap, 10k a unit, they built 14 units I believe, and its now illegal to be on the streets in that area

And they were right. And Sadam Hussein possessed no WMDs, either.

Yes, Joe, Hillary and most all other notable Democrats supported the Iraq invasion - but that was based on false information that he posed some sort of threat to us.

Over the past twenty years, the US had provided more than $32 billion in direct support to Pakistan. But our investments began well before that.

You know, the guys who housed and protected bin laden?

Where's the Outrage?

Most posters here are Russian trolls, so they care a lot more about Ukraine than Pakistan.
