They should be helped, absolutely, I'm just asking how much money do you want to give them?  You don't like $700, should it be $900? 9k? 900k?

Right now it's a humanitarian effort.  They need food, water, shelter, and some quick cash to survive.  Then they need to figure out how to rebuild their lives, whether it's through insurance or help from the federal govt.

If aid will come from the govt, it should go through Congress.  We don't need presidents handing out free money to people anymore.  Bad policy.  I can't believe Republicans are arguing FOR this now.

You don't just drop an indictment after someone has a bad day for focks sake.  How many bad days has Biden had, lots.  But somehow after this one, the Biden team is like, OK quick, someone indict Trump to shift the focus from Biden's Hawaii comment, then the Georgia DA is like "OK, I'll come up with something".  You know how dumb that sounds?  Actually you probably don't, or you wouldn't have said it, but to normal people, it's really dumb.  Also Trump disagrees with you that this indictment was rushed, he said they were holding it waiting to drop it.  In fact, this indictment has been talked about for months.

Sorry but it’s just a really dumb question. The US annual federal budget is over 6 trillion dollars. There are no either-or situations involved. If you want to make the argument that we should spend more federal money helping out Hawaii, make it. I might agree with you. Usually conservatives aren’t in favor of that sort of top down approach however. If you want to make the argument that we shouldn’t be helping Ukraine, make it. I won’t agree with you on that. But my point is it’s an entirely separate argument and has nothing to do with what we spend on Hawaii.
