I've been out of town all week and just skimmed this thread, but I've seen you mention this several times.  I presume you are saying that rural Merca won't vote for a turbin headed foreigner looking guy, and you said earlier that you would vote for Biden over him, even though he is clearly the most Trump-adjacent candidate.  I don't disagree that his Indian heritage will prevent some people from voting for him, but it's sad to see a person like yourself take such a clearly racist position.  

I presume you would rule out Nikki Haley and Tim Scott as well for those reasons?

Anyway, back on topic, I liked Vivek going into this but he's a little too Trumpy for me.  Also the fact that Trump said good things about him means that Trump does NOT view him as competition, since Trump would never say something nice about a person he did consider competition.  Vivek is a wildcard though, and he does seem to know how to play to a younger/social media crowd, so I'm interested to see how this plays out.

I’m not too worried about Kosovo and such. It’s the Iraq and Afghanistan quagmires that we’ve got to avoid.

I also don’t worry too much about paying for it. What the right used to understand is that it’s generally a good thing if most of the rest of the world is dependent on you. It helps us keep our spot on top and benefits us tremendously. Also it’s not like we’re going to slash the military budget, we do have to keep that strong in case Russia or China or whomever got ideas.

Yes, there are burdens in leading NATO, but it has also made us the wealthiest country in the history of the world.

I’m not aware of any random bombing we have done. I wouldn’t support that. But yeah I’m sure we have made mistakes.
