Or, more likely, AB paid a TON of cash just to buy some goodwill back.  The problem is that this is all marketing - we have no idea if people are actually going to purchase that shiat when it's sold there.

If they continue with the old, tried and true marketing campaigns that worked in the past I think they will be fine.  There are far bigger things to worry about than avoiding a beer because of an ad campaign they had once.

I read 100 million. That’s a hell of a price to pay for a sponsorship of a non major sport.

This.  The UFC is taking the biggest offer.  AB is getting into their pockets to resurrect themselves.

Probably a smart target here by them.

WOW.  They probably could have bought the entire UFC league itself with that money.

Maybe it works or maybe people say "F#ck Off" like they have been and buy something else.  So now not only has AB lost 80% of the Bud light sales they originally had, they just deliberately added another $100 million dollars to that loss.

I suppose they had to do something.

I suppose if it stays closed long enough.  Kind of like a pierced ear.

That was fun :)

Poor Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben.  Who weeps for them?

"When you do sponsorships, you definitely do sponsorships for the money, too. Money is definitely a part of it, but money was not the decision-making [factor]," White told FOX News’ Sean Hannity.

"There's more to being aligned with a sponsor, a major sponsor like that, for as long as I'm going to be… There are many other things that are important to me other than just the money," he continued. "And the people that were all involved in this negotiation, on every side, absolutely, positively know that my choice was not determined by money."

"They were the first beer company that we really did business with. They were our first real big sponsor when we were getting started, and now we're back with them," White said. "I know all the controversy and everything else, but for myself, going into a long-term deal with another sponsor, I want to be with somebody that I'm actually aligned with."

"They employ 65,000 Americans. They have thousands of vets that work for them. They spend $700 million a year with U.S. farmers using their crops to make their products and many, many other great things that Anheuser-Busch has done in this country," UFC’s CEO noted.

Schuhmacher added: "You see Bud Light still just stubbornly down around 30 percent in volume compared to last year, which is where it's been since May or June.

So if Modelo offers more the UFC is going with Bud Light?  No.

So yeah it is about money.   Everything is.

Constellation has deep pockets. They could easily pay twice that amount and not miss it.

I just wish the tailor would have sized up my need better.  I need a marble sack and instead I have a bowling ball bag holding two golf balls.  It seems excessive. Definitely not bespoke.

You mean a golf ball and a chicken egg.  No two are the same size.

I don't have enough experience to speak to them all, but you are right about mine.  I've got a racketball ball and a condor egg.  Too bad they are paired with a nubbin, but what is an Irish guy to do?
