The peaceful sit in part. Just walking into the capitol and doing nothing got you "up to a year in prison" which meant scouing videos to identifying every single person who entered the building and a typical sentence for showing up, doing nothing, and not having a criminal history meant ~45 days in jail. 

I fully expect 95% of these focks to get no more than a catch and release and no prosecution time. The other 5% might have broken sh*t or assaulted a cop to get in.

She said "them" when referencing protection, which could, and likely did, mean the capitol police, which she does have authority over. Her biggest failure was trusting the intelligence reports leading up to the day, which were woefully inaccurate. Anyone else would have, and did, do the same.

Trump had the power to dispatch NG, and he did not. Gross negligence is the kindest term for what he did and didn't do that day. Treason is more apt, IMO.

I might take a different position, and be less inclined to believe a politicians prepared statement, and more inclined to believe their thoughts in the moment.  But perhaps Pelosi deserves the protection you afford her.

I find it interesting that some Jan 6 offenders were dragged out of their homes in the dark by tactical units for charges that resulted in very little if any jail time. I think a phone call would have sufficed in those instances.
