New California bill would restrict line-skipping service Clear at airports in name of equity

Let's get rid of everything the poorest person in the US can't afford. No one should be able to have anything someone else can't afford to buy. Even if it's just one person. 

It doesn't "let wealthier people skip ahead". It's a service someone can budget into their spending. Like everything else.

Since the majority of Spirit Air passengers don't give a sh!t about being anywhere on time, I highly doubt they give a sh!t about frequent fliers paying extra to avoid long lines.

I think it’s kinda bullsh1t how people can skip security.

But then again there’s economy plus, first class, airline lounges, etc etc. The whole thing is tiered and in part that’s just a fact of life.

So I get it, but still a dumb law if it were to get passed.

Nobody is skipping security. People who frequently fly,  pay for a background check that allows them to go through a different screening process at the airport because they've been pre-screened.

This isn’t that. CLEAR is pretty much the same as TSA PreCheck just less people have it at the moment so lines are shorter. They use the same lines of screeners after you show ID. 

We are talking like saving 10 minutes on a bad day from what I have seen so this is pretty stupid.

CLEAR if they aren’t already should probably be pitching in to pay for the physical screening.

You obviously don’t travel.  No one gets to “skip” security. Clear and TSA Pre go through a background check and as a result do not have to remove shoes and take computers and other items out of their bags.  They still go through metal detectors at security.

Not a huge advantage to having CLEAR so whatever. If the government wants to help air travel they will not allow idiots to bring animals in the cabin.  If you need an animal as emational support you are too unstable to fly.  Take a bus.

Finally skimmed the article on this. CLEAR isn’t paying for the security screening part which does seem like a bit of BS. They should be pitching in on that.
